But in an ecological view digitalized education decrease paper expanses. Social media is a virtual world, it makes to a disconnection with the real and natural life; but it is a useful (moyen) for people that have no time or some difficulties for a new meeting, some websites have a social meetings in function of your personal critere research; for example place to meet one potential guy in one week, you save your time by meeting more guys in less time. There is also some people that suffer of a lack in trusting in their selves, social media play an important role by helping them to have more confidence and meeting a similar mankind. Social media is not safe because it is not a filtrated environment and people are different but it is a criteria of our human being. I personally had a very great online meeting and this relation is memorable to me, social media can be the object of the beginning of a relation. But real relations are much better because feelings and sensations are stronger, generally people start by knowing each other and after meeting for real, it is not a bad thing at all it is a new era. Sometimes multitasking bother me, when you are busy and someone is calling you, answering became an obligation, (c’est etouffant) The digital and multitasking mixture private us from our freedom and destabilize our focusing and human being. I use technology frequently but only to satisfy what my head order me and what is good
Multitasking The advent of the digital age, Multitasking has become the way of life. (Morris, Masito 2010) Multitasking; the ability to do several things at the same time but is this a flaw or an asset. I chose to write my paper on multitasking, for all the same reasons for Jantz, Morris and Masito to show the impact that multitasking has taken on our society.
Such a distraction prevents them from getting their work done, which demonstrates the futility of Richtel’s point about efficiency. Although they may be able to find information quickly, if they are distracted by their phones, people are simply wasting
Social media are websites or applications that most of people use every day, but it can cause several harmful effects, such as symptoms of mental health, increase cyberbullying, and reduce productivity. Social media is a place where people can share their personal information, pictures, videos, ideas, and different form of expressions. It also the great place where people can interact with each other by using the text posts or comments. Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter are the platform social media that most of people use. Each people has different purpose of using social network, such as communicate with friends, or promote a business. According to the Statita.com, in 2017, 81 percent of U.S. Americans had a social media profile, representing a five percent growth compared to the previous year.
In this modern era, it has become commonplace to try and accomplish as many tasks as possible as quickly as possible in order to be more efficient. With the help of technology, many believe that multitasking is becoming a required and helpful skill. Multitasking is actually a detrimental habit. Multitasking divides a person's concentration in order to attempt to complete multiple actions. Even though in the end the tasks are all finished, the quality of the finished task and the time required to finish all the tasks makes multitasking very inefficient. In addition, this division of concentration is causing many people to not pay attention. For most, multitasking is a disadvantageous skill that should not be encouraged as a valid
Although a lot of it may seem to be positive advancement and nothing but an advancement, there are always underlying concerns that should, per the author, be addressed. The author explores the issues hiding behind digital entertainment and multitasking, with a focus on the ferocity of the dangers (which range from inconvenience to large amounts of death). The author wants to argue that recent technological advancements in entertainment are a double edged-sword and have been proven to carry with them a large set of negative implications. Although no thesis statement was expressly stated, an implied thesis might be, “Modern entertainment mediums bring with them a multitude of negative neurological and sociological implications that society needs to consider and address.” The author seems to assume that almost everyone who uses fast entertainment also engages in multitasking, which is already known to lead to a variety of negative consequences. This perspective only amplifies the apparent ferocity of the situation. This piece is written in a very one-sided fashion and opts to include no counter-arguments (presumably to tighten the focus on why this topic is such an issue). The author relates multiple examples throughout the text to larger ideas, such as the fact that one billion applications were downloaded on iPhone devices
This documentary covers a wide range of issues cognate to technology and concludes on a note that suggests that technology is not going away, in fact it is rapidly adapting, as such the future of the digital nation is unknown and unpredictable. (No kidding, right?) Yet, what I found concretely intriguing was the documentaries discussion of multitasking in relation to inculcation and developing with technology.
Social media. Is it safe, is it not? I believe that social media is not safe because people can be cyberbullied, and lastly, anything you post on social media can't be erased.
We can take from this is that, Answers believes that even though people are being “discounted” from the real world by going on the internet, the virtual world is connecting us in ways that we aren’t even aware of. This article can be compared to Alex Williams, author of Quality Time, Redefined, which says that the way people use technology today can affect quality time within family and friends on a daily basis. In theory, media takes the view of family time and shows it only in one way; which, is ironic because media also destroys people by disconnecting their both real and virtual connections. many people ca not imagine being without their cell phone or tablet, which is a problem because these items never truly allow a person to relax and enjoy life. Many people cannot imagine being apart their cell phone, laptop or tablet; which, is a problem because these items never strictly allow a person to unwind and enjoy life. I think this problem is worse for some people. Both represent the negative effects of media and technology. No matter what if we are online or dealing with situations in the real world we will always be
The documentary, Digital Nation, directed by Rachel Dretzin in 2010 addresses the topic of technology changing global culture as well as the effect it’s having on the youngest generation. Digital Nation showcases the change as both positive and negative. The negative side being the “Dumbest Generation” viewpoint, as well as the “dangers” of videogames. Furthermore, the documentary glorifies the previous generation by looking at the past with a nostalgic view, suggesting that we were better off before. On the other hand, the documentary show the positive impact of videogames in education, showcasing its use as a tool for learning to further engage students and create a more interesting classroom. During the film, Rushkoff traveled to South Korea and discusses how that nation is trying to deal with the now present problem addiction among youth with gaming and the internet. Rushkoff remarks that these kids “Causalities of the digital revolution,” as he visits rehabilitation camps and clinics for children that specialize in re-connecting such kids with the outside world and the simple life. The documentary praises the rehab center, playing more “happy” music during the footage of the children working together, and almost exclusively captures the kids smiling when they are building a tent as a camp activity. Then, the internet cafés are shown as darker, focusing only on the blank expressions of those that were gaming to show the negative side of the gaming craze.
It starts with simple chatting online that leads up to gaining the courage to meet with one another in person. This is due to gaining confidence and feeling secure enough with the other person to actually meet. “Pew Research Center's Internet and American Life Project found that messaging on social media leads to face-to-face interactions when plans are made via the sites and social media users messaged close friends an average of 39 days each year while seeing close friends in person 210 days each year” (ProCon.org, 2015). Groups of friend can plan parties, events, and other occasions all on platforms like Facebook, and invite people all in one
According to psychologist James say, “Couple who met online are nearly 3 times as likely to get divorced as couple that met face to face”
“The use of social networking sites as opposed to face-to-face interaction could lead to major health problems.”
Online dating is letting us meet more people contrary to dating in person. In the late 30’s early 40’s when online dating was not available, 82.2% of people meet their significant other at the same address to 20 blocks from the house, that means only 17.8% meet their other in half in different cities (15). Back then we didn’t have many opportunities to meet someone from miles away. Now we can meet people from across the country, that is what online dating is providing for people, a chance to meet someone new and not end up dating the person from down the block.
The use of Social media has flourished to a great extent in today’s world. It has played a significant role by providing a platform for people to connect, communicate, share ideas and so on. Facebook, twitter, Instagram are some of the most common social networking sites that usually intrigue us. The day is not far where everyone in this world will have a Facebook account one day. We obviously know the benefits are derived from the use of social media, but have you ever thought that it can also lead you to a serious threat? I personally liked social networking until I found that it advocates laziness by wasting my precious time. Indeed, I was just thinking about this today and how awesome it was a decade ago when friends would call me just to say hi. Nowadays, it seems everything that is posted is like my junk mail full of advertisements and borrowed quotes. I came to realize that Social Media is actually not secure these days. You’ll be surprised how the evolution of technology has had an adverse effect on this growing society. So, is social media really a blessing?
So, it seems as though cyber relationships have become fairly common, but the question remains to be asked.......is online dating all it's cracked up to be?
