If you just committed murder and need help getting out of this sticky situation, you are in luck. There are a few easy steps that can help you get out of your dilemma. Just specifically follow the three steps of what to do, and the few things of what not to do, and you will be perfectly fine. For example, get rid of all the evidence such as fingerprints and weapons, dispose of the body in little pieces, and keep quiet while staying out of the spotlight. First off any finger prints, blood stains, or any piece of evidence must be dealt with. If you can get sulfuric acid, use it. This burns off the skin and any trace of finger prints that you may have left on the body. If you have a lot of prints on the body pour a lot of it, no need to be stingy with the sulfuric acid. If you have prints on the weapon, wipe them down and clean it as well as possible. Tip: use a cleaning lotion and wipe it down so that it looks good as …show more content…
You have to get rid of the body somehow or another. Do not panic and just dump the body off somewhere it will be found and then run off. Use your head and think, you need to dump it somewhere it will not be seen again. It is easier if you have the body in smaller sections. If you cut the body up, it is easiest to use a chainsaw. It may make more of a mess but it is faster. This will need to be done outside because of the mess. Be sure to wash off the chain saw and clean the outside by hosing it down thoroughly. Next, burn all the blood stained clothes or any materials blood got on. The easiest way to get rid of the body is open water such as, a lake or ocean. Be sure to use a lot of weight to hold the body down. The water will cause the pieces of the body to come apart easier as the fish and other animals eat it. Also, the current of the water will help move the body from the original drop site and if it found, it will be very difficult to tell where the drop sight
John Cox is the author of To Kill a People and a professor at UNCC. Meeting John Cox was very exciting because I never met an author before. I can't believe he took the time to sit down with us, discuss his book, and answer our questions.
Due the victim being dead, the first step I would take in this case is a perimeter search. I would probably secure a larger area than I need because I can always shrink the perimeter once I begin processing. The second step I would do is once I found the perimeter, I would secure that boundary. And add police officers in various sides on the outside of the perimeter to help keep people away and sabotaging any evidence. In my head, I would do a walk though of the scene to determine the possible strategy or motive.
The black 9mm semi-automatic gun should be safe before rendering to the laboratory for fingerprints and tool marks. I would not attempt to recovery any prints at the scene from this weapon. It should be unloaded and packaged in a paper bag or cardboard box. It would be much safer in a cardboard box, transported to the laboratory and should then be placed in a Cyvac for Super Glue Fuming, to be processed for fingerprints.
Solving a crime is difficult for detectives. Homicides are even harder cases to solve, the only person that can really tell what happened is dead. So many people are afraid to step up as witnesses, they fear their life would be in jeopardy for helping the detectives. For homicide detectives, the first forty-eight hours is the most critical part for solving a case. After that, the probability of solving the case reduces by fifty percent. Each passing hour gives suspects more time to get away, witnesses more time to forget what they saw, and crucial evidence more time to be lost forever. There are several steps to take in solving a homicide.
Families are one of the most important things in life. We have parents, kids, crazy uncles, and weird cousins, but that doesn’t change how it would feel to lose one of them. In the short story Killings, Richard Strout kills Frank Fowler and then suddenly disappears. Matt Fowler, Frank’s father, is suspected of murdering Richard and hiding all the evidence. After losing his son, Matt and his family grieved over the loss of their loved one wanted to see Richard Strout where he belonged, or at least out of sight. Although the story doesn’t reveal what happens to Matt Fowler after Richard Strout is dead, all the evidence, Matt’s PGD, his thirst for revenge, and how he believes the system has failed him when Richard was able to walk free, makes him guilty of killing Richard Strout.
The detective genre is recognizable by the mystery that it represents or establishes. Every word of a fiction novel is chosen with a purpose, and that purpose on a detective novel is to create suspense. The excerpts from The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler, Murder Is My Business by Lynette Prucha, and Devil in a Blue Dress by Walter Mosley, create an atmosphere of suspense and mystery. Even though they all fit into this category, there are some differences that make each novel unique. The imagery that the authors offer in the excerpts helps the reader to distinguish the similarities and the differences.

1) Preserve the scene – you need to be very careful not to touch or move any evidence if it a potential crime scene ( if sexual or physical there will likely be forensic evidence there)
I would start by collecting the suicide note and have the lab examine it for any fingerprints or any other DNA. Also I would have a handwriting analyst examine the writing on the note compared to the history of the victim’s day-to-day handwriting. Then I would start to examine the body. I would look at enter and exit wounds from the bullet to see it they are in a line that would make sense of a suicide. I would check the firearm for fingerprints and do a ballistics test on the bullet to make sure it came from that specific gun. Also I would check the body for any kind of physical bruising or wounds that would suggest a struggle.
Murder on a Sunday Morning is about an African American boy who was wrongly convicted of murder. He was only fifteen years old when his life changed forever. While first watching the documentary, it seems to the audience that Brenton Butler, the convicted boy, is guilty. Mr. Stephens, husband of the victim, Ann Stephens, claims that Butler came over, tried to take Anna Stephens’ purse, and then before she could comply, he raised his gun and shot her in the face. Sadly, Mr. Stephens was the only eye-witness, which is a major red flag, as he is connected to the victim. After being forced by the detective, Butler confesses. Once defense attorney, Patrick McGuinness is involved, he has Butler tell the court of his innocence and thus beings the criminal proceedings for Brenton Butler.
In this article, Edens and Cox suggest that the prosecution in capital murder trials produce evidence regarding antisocial personality disorder, sociopathy, and psychopathy. ASPD, sociopathy, and psychopathy all have a long history in the criminal justice system. Mental health experts are called in to evaluate the suspect during sentencing, to determine future violent behaviors, and if there is any potential for rehabilitation. In their research, they found little systematic research on how much of an impact ASPD, sociopathy, and psychopathy have on a case outcome. They decided to carry out a survey at a national conference to measure how frequently this evidence was produced. They found that ASPD evidence was used more than sociopathy and
On this week’s topic of global violence against women, Elvia R. Arriola authored the peer-reviewed article, “Accountability for Murder in the Mquiladoras: Linking Corporate Indifference to Gender Violence at the U.S. Mexico Border” (2007). Arriola depicts the treatment of girls and women on the Mexican border who are employed in the maquiladora are due to corporations that move over to the Mexican boarders because of the salary which is higher in this area due to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) between Mexico, the United States, and Canada (1993). In fact, the frequency of domestic violence and femicide occurs more frequently regardless of policies and laws. Additionally, the maquiladora murders are a severe indication of Mexico’s
In the event that any firearm is discovered at a crime scene there are certain steps that need to be done in order to properly collect any type of firearm evidence. If there is any kind of firearm found at the scene it should be rendered safe immediately. For safety is the first priority at any crime scene. Forensic technicians should assign an evidence number to the firearm, photograph orientation and close-up view’s, and take measurements of the firearm’s location prior to collecting it. In order to deem a semiautomatic pistol safe, the forensic technician should be wearing latex gloves an unload the weapon as follows; (Tina Young, 2011)
According to this article the publisher jumps back in forth about what happened or what was done. But after seeing news coverage on tv and reading into depth on this subject I believe the publisher is incorrect on a few points.
