Music Influences On The Music

Nowadays listening to music is a widespread phenomenon all over the world. People tend to listen to it

on a daily basis wherever they are: in a public transport, gym, shop and etc. As well as bringing the

relaxation effect, music can help to concentrate better while studying or working or even bring an

inspiration. Moreover, according to scientists, our brain tends to react on our favourite music in the

same way as it would react on some delicious food or a psychoactive drug such as cocaine (Jha, 2011). In

fact, I’ m not an exception. Since my parents are both musicians, I grew up in a musical environment and

got used to listen to it regularly. However, I noticed one interesting thing: the music, that I listen to

influences my mood constantly, my thoughts and my emotions. Therefore, this is the main reason that

influenced my topic choice. The main aim of this research is to understand whether the music influences

other people’s feeling or not.

Literature Review

At first sight it can seem that music is nothing special, but just a set of sounds without any strong

meaning. However, music – is something completely different: it has a strong significance and a huge

influence on lots of spheres of life. According to researchers from the University of Groningen: “Music is

not only able to affect your mood -- listening to particularly happy or sad music can even change the

way we perceive the world” (University of Groningen, 2011).…
