I have found some interesting facts on music therapy. Some people may already know about these facts but some people may have no clue. Before I even researched what music therapy was I had no clue what it was. Since I’ve never heard of it before or anything until I researched it and started taking a music class. One of the find’s I have found is music therapy stimulates different parts of your brain. These parts are responsible for your physical functions and mental function as well. Also no matter what age you are you can go to a music therapist and have a music therapy with them. There are just so many things music therapy can do for a person. Also there are different settings when it can help. Some session music therapy can help is during labor and delivery. It helps calm the mother by having her focus on breathing and there is also other thing’s it helps with during this time.
Also it can help comfort cancer patients. How music therapy can help someone with cancer is by “taking” the thought of pain away from them during a treatment. Another thing’s it does is help someone who’s going to rehab for drugs and alcohol. This isn’t all that music therapy can help with this is just a list of something I’ve found that it helps with. After researching some facts on music therapy I researched a man named Benjamin W. Corn. Benjamin is a doctor and started a music session for cancer patients in September of 2012. Benjamin said “I’ve learned in my years as a doctor treating cancer patients, music is even a powerful medical tool, capable of healing our bodies, our hearts, and our minds. Music is so powerful, in fact, that I’ve made it a regular part of my therapeutic treatment.” Some people may think doctors don’t us music therapy but they do look here at Benjamin.
