First of all, Congratulations on your acceptance to the Honors College!! Undoubtedly, the Honors College is an experience you would never forget, either because you really liked it or because you had to study day and night to achieve your goals. My best advice: make friends. In my opinion, this is an experience that you cannot do alone. Without friends, professors and people that you could rely on this two years could turn out to be very hard, plus your friends here will turn out to be like your family. Second, as a new student you are going to start hearing about all the organizations and clubs you could be a part of, however always remember that quality is better than quantity. Third, try to do your best in every class you take… hard work
The Honors College at ECU should admit an exceptional students such as myself because I consider my education to be the paramount element for my success in the near future. Although I am a student athlete I never forsake my education for my sport, track, because I know that my sport will only take me as far as a scholarship to ECU but won't be of much help after that. As I consider my education above my sport, I tutor my team mates in math because that's what they have a hard time understanding. Not only do I tutor but my teammates and I also volunteer around the community by raking leaves and shoveling snow during the fall and winter which helps us out if they would like to support the team with a donation. I like to hold myself to a higher
Broad perspective is critical. Without it, opportunities and possibilities are greatly limited. The Honors College is not simply a place to gain perspective, but also a place to provide perspective to others. Interdisciplinary academics, leadership development, undergraduate research, and community & global experiences are the tenets of the Honors College. My experiences are closely aligned to these views; therefore, I feel I can contribute my own

Feeling claustrophobic in an immense sea of blue and gold, I sat uncomfortably in one of the largest auditoriums I have experienced while watching my cousin’s high school graduation. A freshman at the time, I became mesmerized by the concept of secondary school, and was overjoyed to sit with my family and celebrate Margaret’s achievements. Scanning the graduates, something caught my eye; there were shimmering sashes around the necks of a select few students. An epiphany occurred in my mind and I was determined to be just like those seniors one day - I would be a member of National Honor Society and therefore be distinguished from my peers during my graduation ceremony. Unfortunately, the “School Point” section of my NHS application, where each club and sport activity counted for a point, was empty. As a child, I wasn’t allowed to be involved in any extracurriculars that weren’t agriculture based until obtaining my license and paying for my own expenses - gas bill, car insurance, et cetera.
Acceptance into the National Honor Society of Petrides would be a great honor for me. The National Honor Society in Petrides will allow me to connect with likeminded people in the school who have portrayed similar scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship as I have. I have shown my leadership qualities through school events and volunteer work. Service to the school is one of biggest focus of the National Honor Society which I have always been content to participate in. The three amazing years at Petrides, I have served the school by aiding and tutoring students that have needed help academically; while participating in school events and teams showing school pride.
I have decided to apply to UNCW Honors College to excel in my studies and help me further my education. Being a part of the Honors College will help me in the future, as I plan to attend medical school. This is my second time applying to the UNCW Honors College. I am now a sophomore who has worked very hard to obtain good grades and a good GPA. My hard work has paid off as I made the Dean’s list this year. An expectation I hope to gain when being a part of the Honors College, is the one on one learning experience. In high school, I was enrolled in all AP courses, which were very small classes. I hope to have the same advantage in the honors courses. I also want to be in a group of all similar academic standings. In high school, I was in National
"Character, in the long run, is the decisive factor in the life of an individual and of nations alike." Theodore Roosevelt. Students should demonstrate scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character because of three reasons. One, if students demonstrate these qualities they are more likely to get better grades and get reprimanded less. Another, without these traits, a student would have far less opportunities in the future. Finally, as students grow they will gain much more wisdom if they allow themselves to work on demonstrating these characteristics. Overall, these qualities are very important in the present, and in the future.

Beating at the heart of the Southern Oregon Honors College community lies a close-knit community that focuses on deeper discussions between students and a student-interest driven content with programs like Take the Lead Projects and Pick and Choose Activities. Small communities, like the honors college, have been a major part of my life since middle school. This is one of the major reasons why I want to be a part of the honors college community. I want to immerse myself in an intellectual space where people take responsibility for their actions and communicate with others in an honest, compassionate way while in a small-scale setting. I think a lot of successful communities do this. When members are comfortable being open about what they want from their community and communicate that in an empathetic way, a deeper bond is created and people can delve into their creativity more because they do not fear judgment.
A thing you should really do in Honors Chem, besides pay attention and stay on it, is to befriend your teacher. You should approach Honors Chem with high spirits and with a motive to learn. Trust me, there is a lot of learning. And when you first start Honors Chem, start strong so you a bad grade from a
Honors Day is very important for students and the educational institutions. I attend the University Honors Day Convocation on April 27, 2016 which was organized at TSU stadium. Students of the entire major received the booklist and name of each student was mentioned on booklist. All the students received their certificate and were back to their seats in well displaced and organized way. There was a warm welcome for President of Texas southern University, College Deans and other staffs. After that, three speeches were made about TUS’s achievements in different fields. During these
I know that there is a myriad of aspects about me that make me an exceptional addition to the school. In my Sophomore and Junior year of High School, my family, unfortunately, fell on hard times. During this time I had a winter job and a job at McDonald's. Although I did not fully support my family with all of my money earned, I still regularly gave my mother money for my sister to eat and attend cheer. Most, if not all, of my life experiences that have taught me what it means to be a man come from my family's struggles. To be short recently my family's house flooded and black mold forced my mom out of the house and drastic repairs were needed everywhere. With my mom absent in Utah and my father an addict it was essentially up to me to care
