My Career Aspirations : A Case Essay

As a student of psychology, my career assessments test showed me many options for my career goal path. For starters, my career interest profile results are broken into six main categories which are: social, artistic, investigative, enterprising, realistic, and conventional. According to my results, my career matches are as followed: preschool, primary, secondary, and special education teacher. I am 28% social, 22% artistic, 17% investigative, 11% enterprising, 10% realistic, and 9% realistic. According to my Phoenix results, the salary ranges in this area between $18,140 - $57,530. I generally believed that I have a more noteworthy degree as a social person which ended up being substantial. Individuals who are social likes to help individuals in instructing, giving a restorative guide, giving data for the most part, avoids utilizing machines, devices, and animals to accomplish an objective. Moreover, people who are social is awesome at teaching, exhorting, nursing, or giving information; values people and dealing with social issues; and sees self as to be helpful, welcoming, and dependable. My profession normally includes working with, speaking with, instructing individuals, and causing or giving administration to others. 1.What is one short term goal you have on your agenda to achieve in the next couple of weeks to a month?

Typically, when someone hears ‘medical field’, automatically you think of people with white lab coats and a stethoscope around their neck ready to take your vitals. Obviously this comes to mind because these doctors and surgeons are the face of the medical field, but in reality there is so much more. There are actually about 300 different occupations one can have in the health care field. A large part of that is nurses. Nurses are the basis of the medical field; they are almost as important as the patients themselves. They have always been a major part of our lives. Nurses have been with us since we first opened our eyes, from birth to broken bones, nurses were there. They have very difficult and extensive careers, they dedicate their lives to their work and to their patients. Some nurses spend long nights away from their family and friends to help others, at times their shifts can last as long as 24 hours. In my opinion nurses are the real super heroes, for this reason I have decided to pursue a major in nursing. I still have a lot to learn and many years of schooling to go, but personally its worth the wait.

Pediatricians are doctors who treat infants and children. Unfortunately, the results of the career assessment surveys on www2.careercruising.com did not place my desired career as one of the careers it thought I would be interested in. Another thing the career assessments told me I was primarily a visual learner, but I had a secondary preference for tactile learning as well. However, it gave me a career that correlates with the subject I want to teach as my career, which happens to be mathematics (career: mathematician). This choice can be the match for lighting the fuse for the rocket that is my career path so I can blast off with my career in the future. However, I was a bit disappointed that these surveys did not land me with a “teaching” job, but one thing I can agree on is the fact that it landed me with a math-related career, because math is my favorite subject in school overall. Even so, these results might help me pursue my dream of becoming a middle-school math teacher if I work hard enough. In conclusion, even though some of these surveys’ results don’t match my interests, I can still work hard to prove them otherwise.

The career goals I am preparing for include finishing my BSN, then continuing to receive my MSN, receiving my RN-C and becoming a clinical instructor for a community college. I plan to start taking classes for my MSN degree as soon as I finish my BSN because you must have a Master’s degree to become a clinical instructor. Becoming a clinical instructor has been a dream of mine since I started nursing school in 2009. When students come to the NICU for their observation day, I make sure to teach them everything I know about neonates because they only get one afternoon in the NICU and I want them to leave loving the specialty as much as I do. The start of this project began in early October, and for the most part it was a relatively simple course of action to be prepared, coordinated, and reported for the majority of the school year. For the past five years I have been an elementary school teacher, and this experience has helped me to identify where my career goals will lead. My interest in the Doctor of Education Organizational Change and Leadership program is to become a staff educator. Politics is defined by Webster dictionary as, “the activities, actions, and policies that are used to gain and hold power in a government or to influence a government.”  I aim to one day work in our government and influence lives in a positive manner. I want to help create a sound government in any way possible. Intellectually, I yearn to learn more about the processes in government, to overall aid in my professional goal of being a successful politician.

In the last few years since the 2010 crash, corporate law firms have been rebuilding themselves, and then growing even larger than before. As economies all over the world begin to stabilize, three firms are at the top of their game, grossing far into billions and expanding to more places. The places are (starting with the highest grossing): Baker & McKenzie, Skadden & Co., and Clifford Chance (Business and Company Info). Based on values that have taken the test time, these companies have created their own values, appeal to people and other companies, and with those created a purpose for their firms that they are widely known for: defending, prosecuting, and creating documents with law and honesty combined.

It has been 10 years passed since last time I entered in college as a freshman, and now, at the end of 2017, I decide to go back to college for pursuing a new major and reaching a new objective of career path. All of these will start from Fullerton College.
