In the words of Theodore Roosevelt, “Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.” If I were to put the passion I have for my goals into one sentence this would describe it perfectly. Although it took me quite some time to realize what I was passionate about, I am very grateful to have found it when I did. Prior to discovering what gave me such a feeling of fervor, having goals and planning for the future did not mean nearly as much to me as it does now. Now that I have a new sense of purpose, it has led me to me setting goals I never thought could be possible. Achieving the perfect balance in my life, getting accepted into at least two of my top colleges, and deciding between two career …show more content…
Being in these college prep classes is yet another challenge I must choose to accept. Earning good grades in them is another part of the challenge, which is crucial for college applications. Seeing as I am in my junior year of high school, there is not a whole lot of time left for me to prepare myself for college. An important part of that process is learning how to have balance in my life, which will not only benefit me in my education but also in my personal life. The first step in this direction is to figure out which responsibilities or tasks are non negotiable. These would be Academic Decathlon, college classes, high school classes, and getting a job. Academic Decathlon is non negotiable because although I may not be reaping all of the benefits now, I will most definitely see them when I begin my college years. During the first three weeks of school, I have already improved my study skills as well as my time management skills. These are some, if not the most important skills I will need for college. The next non negotiable part of my life would be my college classes. The more classes I complete, the closer I will be to completing my Associate's degree. This will be an incredible asset to have in college. Taking as many college classes as I can will allow me to further improve my study skills while earning units. The third non negotiable part of my life would be my highschool classes. This would be at the top of my
My long-term goal with my college education is to complete my Bachelor's degree and eventually continue on to receive my Master’s degree in criminal justice. The first step to complete my long-term goal is receiving my Associate’s degree in criminal justice by May 2017. This goal is specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely.
deal more than I need to learn before I can achieve my dream of building a business in the Asia
My goals for completing college couldn't be done without hard work. It may be a struggle but I know in the end it will be worth it. I will graduate and start a new career path in life. They say that nothing in life comes to us easily. I’m just thankful to be at a college centered around God. So, with that in mind and by the grace of God, I believe I can accomplish anything! Just have to put my mind to it and go for the
Going to college has been a dream of mine growing up. I am the first ever in my family to go to college but figuring out how to pay for it has been a challenge. I desire to achieve my academic and career goals and this scholarship can help me succeed in my journey.
I’m applying to this program because I want to pursue a career in college student development in a program that gives its students a wide variety of hands on experiences. I’m looking for a program that combines traditional classroom teaching with the opportunity for multiple internships and practicums. Additionally, I have grown to find a home at Appalachian State and I would like to continue my education at this university.
Les Brown said, “Your goals are the road maps that guide you and show you what is possible for your life.” Every goal in life is determined by the actions we do now. Experiences and feeling have a lesson to teach us something new that could, later on, be applied in the future for our own good. Since I started living with my grandma when I was six years old, I had wanted to be a doctor because I wanted to help people. Activities in school are contributing their bit on the person I want to be, similarly to those special ones that will help me a lot through college too.
My short-term career goals are to complete nursing school, pass the National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX), and become a registered nurse. I start at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Nursing this fall; I am expected to graduate in the spring of 2018. I am interested in becoming a pediatric nurse at first. My long-term career goals would be to specialize in either pediatrics or neonatal nursing.
My academic goal is to graduate Argosy University with a bachelors degree in Forensic Psychology in three years time. Forensic Psychology is the study of the criminal mind, in a nutshell. The main motivation to achieve this goal would be intrinsic. I love asking questions and knowing the answers as to why people do what they do, and in a criminals case, what led them to committing the crime. This goal, however, may have some extrinsic motivation as well. Being knowledgeable about certain behaviors that criminals poses may help solve or even prevent a crime. In addition, having a degree will help open different paths in life, ones that may present me with greater job opportunities. My attitude toward the learning process will help my achievement of each goal because I am eager, determined and motivated. My greatest desire is to succeed in life, and obtaining an education is one thing I know will help me. I perhaps will need to make some adjustments along my journey. I do not know yet if I will find another educational path that intrigues me the most. For now, I do not feel that any adjustments need to be made.
Describe your educational career and life goals. Explain your plan for achieving these goals. Include your degree/major, why you selected it, and how this degree/major will help you achieve your goals.
My current career goals include working in the field of microbiology. Although, I am at a crossroads regarding my path of study: becoming a pathologist (medical doctor) or gaining a Masters as a microbiologist. I am highly interested in conducting research for the CDC or other firms in studying viruses and other pathogens and developing vaccines or cures. My interest for pathogens started as a child when I would watch countless zombie films. I later discovered I was more interested in the disease and the idea of a pandemic than the actual zombie thriller. In high school I enrolled in science classes and researched more about pathogens and occupations involving microorganisms and determined that I would pursue a career in microbiology. My interest
For the past five years I have been an elementary school teacher, and this experience has helped me to identify where my career goals will lead. My interest in the Doctor of Education Organizational Change and Leadership program is to become a staff educator. I would like to guide teachers how to use data to drive their instruction in the classroom.
Ultimately, my personal career goal is to help elucidate the molecular pathways of neurological disorders, while also being able to apply my knowledge directly to patients. Thus, a course plan within the Molecular Basis of Medicine (MBM) foundational area, combined with a Neuroscience, Behavior, and Cognition application, would be perfectly tailored to my interests. Though I have experience in bench work at the Champagne Lab, and bedside work at NYPH Weill/Cornell and TCC Health Care respectively, I am truly interested in the bench-to-bedside approach taught extensively throughout the MBM program. The Stanford Neurosciences Institute would provide a myriad of exciting opportunities for pursuing further research into the molecular biology and
Throughout the last few weeks, I have been doing the time management monitor. This project has opened my eyes to how much time I am not using that I could be utilizing for planning my career. My major goals for this semester are to decide on a major and use this first semester to find a day to day rhythm. I also want to use this semester to find new friends and adjust to life in college. Doing this time monitor, I have realized that I have spent more time making friends and adjusting than I have done homework. I also have found out that I have not done much to help me decide what to do in my future.
I have worked in both the high technology and biotechnology industries supporting engineering and operations in startup, low and high volume and cGMP manufacturing environments.
The future is a time or a period of time in which we follow through from the moment of speaking or writing our intentions. It is a time that has yet still to come. The future is what we work for, to go through school and have a career, in order to have a better life. My parents have taught me to work hard for the things I want, and I wish to have a bright future. That is one of the reasons why I am here at CI, to get an education that will help me find a career with sufficient salary that will support me and my future family.
