The Story Behind My Career Everyone has a story behind who they are as a person and how it affected them throughout their life. When my Grandpa passed away it affected me greatly because he was there for me through the good times and the bad times. For example, when I broke my bike by popping the chain off it made me very sad but he helped me fix it. Another time was when I got good grades in school he was very happy and took me out for ice cream to celebrate my success. He also taught me the importance of exercising and how it leads to a healthier life style. My grandfather is the reason that I am seeking a career in computer engineering. I chose to go into Computer Engineering because my grandpa was never good with computers and I would like to develop a user interface that is easier for elderly people to use and thus make their life easier. This will allow them not to rely on their grandchildren when it comes to computers. My plan is to go to Palm Beach State and then transfer to Florida Atlantic University to pursue my bachelors in Computer Engineering. This would have had made my grandpa very proud as that he never went to college. He got drafted into the Egyptian Army at 30 years old and was a general. When he got out he decided not go to college and regretted it for a long time. I have already taken computer classes such as PC Support, Web …show more content…
I used to take apart computers when I was little and figure out how to put them back together. I was also figuring out how to make the computer run faster from installing new programs to over-clocking the ram .For example, the computer that I am using to type this essay right now I just changed the operating system from Windows Xp to Ubuntu 14.04 which is better than Windows and was for free and since it is a Linux operating system it runs and operates the same way as a mac since that the underlying of a mac is
The career I chose to undertake as my profession is that of a mechanical engineer. Why do I want to become a mechanical engineer? Well, for starters, I would be able to design, build and possibly repair many various machines and other technologies that are complex. These technologies can range from being already in use on a global scale to new, futuristic designs that are highly technical. Also, this career includes being a sort of jack-of-all-trades, where I would possess knowledge in mathematics, physics, etc. Finally, this career offers me the chance to expand outside my immediate area since mechanical engineers are well desired around the globe as well.
Do you remember a time when you were young, maybe around first grade? The teacher asked everyone what they wanted to be when they grow up. Some children said they wanted to be doctors or firefighters or even an astronaut. I said I wanted to help others learn; I wanted to be a teacher. Going into my journey of senior year, my life has changed; however, my career path has not. I want to help children learn, to become the best they can be. Children, in my opinion, are the greatest assets that are in this world. In the teaching/education class offered by Four Rivers Career Options, I will understand more to be prepared with what will be expected in this career choice. After completing the experience of Four Rivers I will attend college and be ready to teach elementary kids. This will be the start of my career path.
A man once said “The direction in which education starts a man will determine his future in life.” The California state university will send me on my path to my future. California State university, the Northridge society, one of the best technology schools and should allow me to have the best education.
Prior to writing this essay, I sat down with my mom to come up with ideas on stories that have made me who I am today. That is when I realized I have made more personal growth in the past four years of my high school career that I have before this period of time. I am ending my high school career with more knowledge than I ever expected.
Growing up in a family of four children, my mother always wished one of us would follow in her footsteps and pursue a career in the medical field. Career opportunities today are endless. The is issue we face is choosing the career path that is right for you. We truly are afforded with the ability to be whatever we wish. I began researching the opportunity of becoming a Cardiovascular Sonographer Technician. I always admired my mother for being a nurse. Her care and compassion was is genuine. I want to have a beneficial impact on other people's lives the way she has. I have an unbelievable desire to constantly help others. With this characteristic along others, my opportunities are virtually endless. With the demand for Healthcare Professionals and alternative medicines on the rise, the need for adequately trained personnel is a hard one to meet. I want to be a part of the impact the medical industry provides.
I was raised with the idea that anyone can have a job, but not everyone can have a career or permanent profession. I have even passed this belief to my own children as they grow into adulthood and further their education. As a young adult, I have worked as an optician and waited on tables. While I was grateful to always have steady work, I still knew that I was capable of more. I was convinced I could have a career and not just a job. Although working as an optician and waiting tables share similarities, they are remarkably different in terms of educational requirements, salary, and work-life balance.
In the beginning of my college career, I was so sure that I wanted to major in education and follow in my father’s footsteps. Growing up, some of my fondest memories were from where my siblings and I would help my father decorate his classroom for the upcoming school year. I remember thinking that I couldn’t wait to decorate my own classroom one day. My dad was a history teacher and history never resonated well with me, math was more my thing. I went into college dead set on majoring in math education. I followed this major until I got to Calculus II and was completely shut off. Cal II legitimately made me hate my major. As to be expected this made me very discouraged in my major of choice. I remember feeling stuck in a major that I was afraid
My future career goal is to finish my bachelor degree then pursue internship during my junior and senior year. The next step I would seek out entry level jobs before I start looking for a human resource position then working myself up to a management position. In addition, to working in a human resource management position for a few years I will go after my certifications to set me apart from competition during the hiring process.
What is the importance of goals? Do goals help you plan out your future? Or possibly give you something to work for? To me goals provide a map of what I want to do, how I’m going to do it, and why I want to do it. Goals also provide a sense of accomplishment when you finally get to finish whatever you’ve been working towards. The need for goals in life is clear, because without goals, we wouldn’t get much done. Simply because of the fact that there wouldn’t be anything to work towards, and no structure to our future. One of my most important goals is to graduate college, to get a career in psychology. This goal is extremely important to me because of the fact that not many people in my family have even finished high school.
My career goal is to become a proficient historian and history college professor that is engaging and makes history come alive, interesting, and still be accurate because I believe that history is still, and always will be relevant to the present. And without a fundamental understanding of the past, we will not be able to make informed political decisions about how our country is governed, who governs it, and interactions with other countries. One of my personal goals is to be a well educated person including: being fluent in one to two modern languages other than English, read ancient text proficiently in one to three ancient languages, travel frequently to learn as much as I can about the various modern cultures of the world, and to travel
Choosing to apply to law school is more than choosing what I will do and where I will spend my next three years. It is more about what life path I want to pursue. I want to be a smart problem solver. My short-term career goal is to practice business law in big law firms based in either the U.S. or China. As for my long-term career goal, I would like to devote the resources that I gain from my education and experience to public sectors in China. Berkeley School is the perfect place for me considering both my short-term and long-term career goals.
Three different cities. Three different countries. Three different continents. Together, they form three different periods of my life, where I have continually submerged myself in new surroundings, adapting from one situation to the next, all in the hope of seeking new experiences to better my life.
Nick Carter once said, “It 's like Forrest Gump said, 'Life is like a box of chocolates. ' Your career is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you 're going to get. But everything you get is going to teach you something along the way and make you the person you are today. That 's the exciting part - it 's an adventure in itself”. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average worker currently holds ten different jobs before age forty, and this number is projected to grow. Forrester Research predicts that today 's youngest workers will hold twelve to fifteen jobs in their lifetime. In class we received an assignment about career planning. I constantly dream about living in a huge house with two cars, and working in San Diego as a Family Counselor. In this assignment we assess our career aspirations, and possibly alternative career paths.
As many children embark onto a fascinating yet terrifying educational journey, they are unaware of all the time that is needed to mentally, physically, and emotionally conquer 12 years of back-to-back school to succeed. There is a wide variety of occupations that these aspiring children can strive for: firefighters, doctors, or having the grave responsibility of putting the welfare of all America’s inhabitants - the president. The thought of pursuing such a career was irrelevant as the only main focus was the present and not how beneficial it could be in the future but now being a freshman in college, I had succumbed to tirelessly wanting to become a doctor. The competition to become a doctor in college is surreal but with sleepless nights,
Everyone in my life already knows what I am going to do with my life. Be a professional wrestler. That last sentence was a joke; I plan to go into the field of IT (Information Technology). After that I want to end up opening my own business. I chose to go into this field early into my 10th grade year after I realized how fun and easy working on computers is. There are a lot of things I am going to have to do to be able to do what I want with my life.
