My definition of world history are the seemingly large and not so large events that have created the society and culture we have today. Without these events, we would not be where we are now.
Several things about world history interest me while some things do not. I find learning about battles or wars to be very interesting. I also find how people lived long ago to be fascinating. However, I do not particularly enjoy learning about explorers and what they explored.
8000 BCE to 600 BCE: -The Shang Dynasty came to power -Egyptian civilization -Invention of the wheel -Migrators crossed the Bering Strait -Hieroglyphics written by early Egyptians
600 BCE to 600 CE -Mayan civilization -Silk Road -Bubonic plague -Greece was conquered -Birth of Christ
600 to 1450 CE -Magna Carta was signed -Muhammad Ali was born -Italian Renaissance -Inca empire in power -Gutenberg invented printer
1450 to 1750 CE -Christopher Columbus discovered the Americas -William Shakespeare is born. -The “Mona Lisa” is painted. -Queen Elizabeth I dies -Isaac Newton is born
1750 to 1900 CE -Declaration of Independence -Abraham Lincoln is assassinated -Cotton gin invented by Eli Whitney -Telephone is invented -Seven Year’s War
1900 to Present -Cellphone invented -World War II begins -Automobile created -Computer invented -John F. Kennedy…
