For example, neuroradiology, nuclear radiology, vascular radiology, and diagnostic radiology. Neuroradiology, uses CT scans and MRI’s to diagnose abnormalities in the nervous system. Nuclear radiology, requires the use of radioactive materials for the treatments of diseases. Vascular and Interventional Radiology (VIR), use minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of certain
I am pursuing a career as a radiologist technician due to a number of reasons. It first started with my fascination of the complexity of the human body. In high school I had no idea I wanted to go into the medical field until I took an anatomy and physiology class, and this subject fascinated me. Solving problems and seeing results is something I want out of a career. I am looking forward to the life-long learning that is involved with a job in the healthcare field. As such, I am interested in a specialization in radiology so I can continue my education and provide a higher level of care to ill patients. Caring for the well being of others has always been one of my priorities and working in radiography would create opportunities for me to provide

Being able to help people determine things going on inside their body interest me and that is why I chose Radiology. The true definition of a Radiologic Technologist is the “medical personnel who perform diagnostic imaging examinations and administer radiation therapy treatments. In my near future, I would like to become a radiologist. A radiologist is someone who studies and uses X-rays or other high energy radiation. Doctors specializing in radiology will use these machines quite often. These physicians are people who interpret digital images or x-rays obtained through a variety of different cameras. The radiologist uses this information to determine the correct diagnosis and then consults with the physician to develop a course of treatment for the patient. After you take an MRI, CT, ultrasound, or x-rays, you will have to put those thoughts into a legible, written form that other healthcare professionals can understand and act upon rationally. This job is quite enjoyable if you have adequate time.

In five years, I plan to be still in school because im trying to get a Dr. Degree, so I can be certified. I would also have another job until

MRI technologists serve a similar purpose, although instead of operating and maintaining the equipment required to take x-rays, they have magnetic resonance imaging scanners, more commonly referred to as MRI scanners. Along with the maintenance of the imaging equipment, both radiologic and MRI technologists specialize in the preparation of certain dyes or drinks that make the imaging process easier and more effective.
