My Dream house My dream house is located on an island that no one knows about and I can easily get there. The entrance is so secret along with the house is impossible to see because of an invisible barrier. I have a device almost like a teleporter to get me there and other places in less than five seconds. The house is super small on the outside, but when you step inside it is the size of 10 mansions. Most of it is held underground to assure security. The house is so secure that I signed a contract with the president to hold him there in case of an emergency. The emergencies would be a terrorist attack the white house, the world ends, we go to war, or a zombie outbreak. My house can fly like a rocket ship into outer space incase of an emergency like the earth blowing up. The outside of my whole house is gold, platinum, and diamond plated for being able to withstand super cold and hot temperatures. My house is like an amphibian because it can go in water, air, and underground to survive if needed. The outside is also equipped with the deadliest weapons from the future. The fact I also have a time machine I can get supplies from the past, present, or future. The only way I was able to afford this was going to the past and taking a lot of valuable old things to sell, owning a money printer, and agreeing with the president to borrow money if I paid off his and the country’s debt. Since the house is made of the most expensive materials and minerals I can at any time take off
When I grow up, I want to be a black gum tree. Black gum trees are known for their internal strength. Instead of dwelling on outward beauty, they spend more time focusing on their inner growth and developing their core. Only after they have achieved this goal can they produce beautiful fruits that draw animals near to them. Any surfaces that the berries touch are stained as to say, “I was here and made a permanent difference.” After they have utilized their outward influences, they use their internal scars and hollow places to protect the animals surrounding around it. If human lives were to reflect the concepts of the black gum tree, governments, individuals, and communities would be radically transformed. While this is a beautiful image,
When first coming to this country as a Hispanic American you may face a lot of difficulties and find more problems than the average white American. Hispanic people go through different adversities and have trouble overcoming them. In The House on Mango Street the main character Esperanza is the one that narrates the story, she explains what it is like to live on Mango Street. She shows the readers that living on Mango Street is perceived as a terrible area, if one were looking from the outside in. But those that live there feel that they live in fair living conditions. The fact is most of the people who live on Mango Street don 't know what it 's like to live outside of mango street. In the story, they show a lifestyle that most Hispanic people deal with especially the ones that come to America and have to figure out how to make ends meet. In The House on Mango Street, the novel has many themes and problems, such as gender inequality, stereotypes, and language barriers. With short stories like "Aria" and "the myth of Latin Woman," a solution is always found. Sometimes there is a simple solution and other times, it is not so easy to find, or there 's just no solution to solving the characters problems and they are still trying to look for results.
Esperanza saw self definition as a struggle, the struggle for self-definition is a common theme, and in The House on Mango Street, Esperanza’s struggle to define herself underscores her every action and encounter. Esperanza must define herself both as a woman and as an artist and her perception of her identity changes over the course of the book. Esperanza portrayed a vivid picture to the audience of her surroundings, the people she encountered, and her interpretation on the events that took place with her and the people in her life at that time.
Two worlds. Two names. One person. In life there are always two sides to a situation, and two sides to a story. Sometimes there are two sides to someone’s life. There is always going to be tension between the two sides to show that every situation is going to have a more and less favorable side, and they are both there to show us who we are. The House on Mango Street is about a girl named Esperanza, and she is trying to find her place on mango street, and her place in life. Her life is impacted, in good ways and bad, by every person that she meets. We follow her, her family, her friends, and others in her journey of living on mango street, and experience her growing, developing, and experiencing the life made for her. In the book The House
In the book “The House at Sugar Beach”, Helene Cooper’s african childhood was filled with nothing but happiness and wealth. Helene and her family lived in a three story mansion by the sea with 22 rooms, filled with servants, amazing cars, and everything you could imagine. They also had a villa in Spain and a farmhouse on the other side of the country. Helene is a descendant of two Liberian dynasties. Since her ancestors were one of the reasons why Liberia got it’s independence the family was so well respected, Helene herself knew not to disrespect her parents. “I knew not to argue with Daddy. He sat at the top of the Sugar Beach hierarchy, with Mommee. Together, John Lewis Cooper JR. and Calista Esmeralda Cooper represented three Liberian

When children are born the difference between whether the baby is a girl or boy depends on their chromosomes. The difference is that girls chromosomes are 46XX and boys are 46XY. This does not give boys any more authority in society than women, yet many women still feel inferior to men. In The House on Mango Street, Cisneros when writing, creates a separation between men and women in society. She focuses on how the men feel as though they have more authority over women. Cisneros takes each woman and makes each one of them them weak. By doing this, Cisneros makes it feel as though these women are owned by the men in their community. She explicitly talks about these women being abused and restricted by men to instill a lesson that
In Pagan’s critique, she clearly states the boldness and ingenuity of Cisneros text “The House on Mango Street”. She leads her essay expressing the fact that the story pushes the boundaries of social norms, and forces readers to face possibly uncomfortable and tough topics. These topics include things, as directly stated in the text, such as “race, class, power, and violence; the social construction of sex; female empowerment; and the feminization of poverty.(1) Pagan also mentions the countless opportunities that Cisneros’ novel gives teachers to start discussions with their students. She explains that there are many vignettes that give teachers the opportunities to bring up subjects that might be harder to talk about within the secure boundaries of a classroom.
It is the year 2026, almost ten years and seven months from now there is a self sustaining house that can run itself for months or even years. The house is made to cook for the family that inhabit it, as well as remind it the date and time. It also cleans for the people living in it constantly as well as set activities to pass the time, but all that is heard is silence. The house tells the inhabitants the daily events and what to do at what time. But there is something different about this particular house. The family that is suppose to be living there has died, along with everyone else in the area around the house. It seems that all the people have died in an

Honestly, I think my time management and planning could definitely improve. However, when I did plan what I was going to do each night to get an assignment done, I found that I got the assignment done with a lot more ease because I wasn’t rushing to do it Sunday night. I am proud of how in-depth I went into the theme and into Esperanza’s character when I was doing my LRA log. Struggles I faced included constant procrastination, and also when we had first started reading the book, I failed to understand the deeper meaning behind the vignettes because I didn't really want to think about the small cues Cisneros includes and wanted to focus on the broad, superficial storyline of the vignettes. To finish the year strong, I plan to think and
Religion is a state of who you are. It signifies a person 's mental activities as well as their physical attributions to the world that surrounds them. Religion is a form of state that distinguish between different types of groups and cultures. While in a specific religious group, one must abide by all the rules and commit to what the religion has to offer. It is known that when a person disobeys their religious they get looked at as an outsider, or just as a person from another religious group. In This Blessed House written by Jhumpa Lahiri, she expresses how religion can be the cause of destroying a perfect romantic relationship. The couple in the story, Sanjeev and his wife Tanima, also known as Twinkle are both
I’ve been staying in that house for over a week now. It’s for sale and real estate agents come by every few days to show it. I’m a light sleeper and I’ve been able to slip out before anyone can see I’ve been staying there. I have no where to go except the street, mission centers, and buildings I break into.
Home is the place one spends more time in their life and share special moments with family. Where one expects to live permanently carefree and feel protected under the roof of their house. One day I want to have a home that makes me feel well and where I can be safe and happy. The purpose of this essay is to illustrate the decisions I made about designing my future dream house.
My house contains many memories of my childhood is where I grew up, I know every part of it and its secrets locations. When I was a child I used to hide in the attic, nobody would found me because no one knew where it was. Every time I enter my house I get a feeling of welcoming and comfort, leaving the house would make me sad. I celebrated many things like birthdays, baptisms and graduations, it means everything to me. It’s a huge piece that gives me safety and protects me from the rain, sun and winter. My house also has protected me from the outside world and violence. I don’t think I would ever want to move out, the walls have many scars from crayons and holes. The floor needs remodeling but
