Embarrassment can be one of the hardest pills to swallow; I know this because of firsthand experience. As humans we go through humiliation all the way through life. I do not know a single person who went through life without a moment of discomfiture, if someone has then they must not live a very audacious life. My personal experience was not only utterly embarrassing but also broadcasted on national television. I was competing in the National Little Britches Rodeo Association Finals at the Colorado State Fairgrounds in Pueblo, Colorado. I have never been one to mull over a certain moment but incidents like this tend to stick with you. What I learned from this experience, I will never forget.

The article ‘Embarrassment and Social Organisation’ was written for the American Journal of sociology in 1956, since then Goffman 's work on embarrassment has been the backbone of understanding the sociology of embarrassment, as well as understanding the structures that reinforce the embarrassment. Goffman suggests that embarrassment is a recognisable deviation from the ease that is considered natural during social interaction. Embarrassment can be recognised through signs of emotional disturbance, blushing fumbling stuttering or change in voice, blinking or other actions that can be considered improper given the social interaction. Goffman describes two types of embarrassment, sustained

One pivotal difference is what goes on in the brain during embarrassment and brain pruning and how they each occur. To begin with, embarrassment deals with hormones. These hormones that get released into the brain cause many imbalances and trigger embarrassment. From passage 1, “Embarrassed? Blame Your Brain” by Jennifer Connor-Smith states,”This imbalance means even small problems, like tripping in the hallway, can trigger a wave of embarrassment”. This shows that the disproportion of hormones in the brain cause

The Reasons for the Settlement of Georgia By: Tirth Patel When James Oglethorpe came to Georgia, he had an idea to make a settlement. In this settlement, he wanted to have a good defense, economy, and charity. Out of these reasons for the settlement, only two of them succeeded. Georgia had a good economy and a good defense. Georgia had a good economy, because of Georgia's trading industry. Georgia’s defense was great, because of it was the military buffer between Florida and South Carolina. The one thing that didn’t succeed in Georgia was charity. This did not work, because when the poor people of England came, they couldn’t pay their taxes, therefore they were locked up and never lived in the new colony they were promised.

Whenever irony is voiced, embarrassment emerges within me along with the date December 26, 2016, where my brother and I were snowboarding for the first time at "Nub's On Nob", a ski resort in northern Michigan. Once we received the basic training of how to maneuver the snowboards and the manners of safety that we should pursue, we began a day of repetitive actions such as riding the lift and gliding down a snow filled hill. After a few mindless hours of this process, my brother eventually leans close to my visage and says "I am surprised, neither one of us have ran into anyone going down the hill so far". At first I merely passed it off as a simple joke but once off the ski lift my mind began to race towards the idea of accidentally running
