My Experience At My Service Learning Site Essay

As I enter one of my last days at my service learning site, I’m honored to have gotten to know so many of these kindergarteners. Not only have I seen them grow in the last three months, but I’ve seen myself grow. I can still remember the first few days of going, I was nervous and quiet. Now, I have conversations and have built relationships with so many of the kindergarteners. During this experience, I can see my Jung Typology score of, ISTJ, come out as a future teacher. ISTJ, means that I am an introvert, use sensing, thinking and judging. Over the last month, while working with the children, I have been trying to see if I can identify personality traits such as being an extrovert or introvert, sensing or intuition, thinking or feeling, and perceiving or judging.
While working with the kindergarteners, I saw an even mix of extroverts and introverts. When working in the art room I saw several introverts. The introverts I worked with had qualities of being self-sufficient, focused, good listeners, and when you do get them to talk they have good thoughts. I saw this in the art room when I was giving directions for the project of the day, they would listen intently. Once they started working on the project, they were focused to get it done and wanted to do it without any help. In the other rooms, such as dramatic play, I saw a lot more extroverts.
