Going into my second semester taking a work experience course, I had a clear idea of this courses expectations based on my previous experience taking it over the Summer. However, things have changed a lot at my current job as Student Assistant for the Department of Food and Agriculture since taking this course the first time around. I feel that I have also changed an immense amount as a person since taking this course and based on the changes around work. Having enrolled in this course again, I was suppose to come up with 3 objectives, similar to my first time taking the CISC 498 course here at CRC. Since this was my second time taking it, I was to come up with 3 different objectives from the last 3 I had already worked on. For my 3 objectives this semester, I chose to assist with my IT unit’s Asset team with the Hardware and Software Refresh Project and our Hard Drive Survey process. My last objective was determined to be a training that would be conducted by our Telecom team on the process for iPad and iPhone deployments. The Hardware and Software Refresh Project was created by our Asset unit specifically geared towards all 17 staff members in our Executive Office at Headquarters. Since I had started working for this department, the computers in the Executive Offices having been running extremely slow, thus greatly affecting their daily work routine. Due to this consistent issue, their office had received approval to receive brand new computers for each user to replace
Teachers always have to protect themselves and the best way to do it is to follow the rules of the code of practice. Being a teacher makes me automatically an example for my students so therefore I must not discriminate, abuse (physically or verbally), dress inappropriate, and be late or turn up for teaching intoxicated.
Personally, for the duration of the health and social care course I believe that I have changed. This course has given me the additional skills and knowledge in which I can use for the future. My presentational skills especially have improved as before when I had to present to an audience I would become very nervous, however in various units presenting in front of an audience was essential. From the encouragement from both the teachers and my peers I am able to now confidently speak in front of a small audience and be comfortable with my work and present it - I have also used their feedback as a way to improve myself.
Reflect on what you have learned in this course and discuss how it might influence your work as a professional
My specific purpose is to show the impact of changing curriculum and/or syllabus that affect the learning environment, without notification. When a professor changes curriculum and/or the syllabus without notification or updating the college catalog, it leaves the student unprepared for the course. In addition, any changes made without notification could not only impact the college, but also the students in an unnecessary negative manner. Changes that carry the potential of affecting students, especially students with disabilities should be reviewed by faculty and DSPS.
This continuing education course is a response to the January 9, 2015 report in the Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS) about risks for emergency medical technicians (EMTs). Bryan Fass, ATC, LAT, CSCS, EMT-P (ret.) asked readers to remember all the brand-new EMTs they have observed firsthand. Most of those freshman EMTs were fit, healthy, and happy…for the first 14-16 months on the job. Despite thousands of dollars in training, they were put on the street with NO education about ergonomics, nutrition, fatigue management, or self-care. Within months they were burned out, stressed out, nutritionally compromised, overweight, and sleep-deprived. The report concludes that with good nutrition and fitness as a priority, “the negative effects
5. What learning objectives and goals have you set for yourself in this course this semester? What do you hope to learn? What
I have included a witness statement by my line manager stating that I have developed different skills since I joined the course. In addition, he mentioned that I am now able to manage and organise my tasks more efficiently where I meet the deadline provided, make my own decisions, track tasks and achievement.
Keeping track of your completed courses and earned credits is crucial to planning for the rest of your college experience. I am brand new to taking college courses. In fact, this is my first one I have taken. I believe this class has gone well for me and it has given me lots of tools not only to be successful in high school but in college courses as well. I have chosen to enroll in another course next term. The course I have chosen to take next term is Professionalism in The Workplace with Professor Langfritz. I have chosen to take this course because I believe it can be beneficial to me because I plan to get a job in the coming months.
The experience that will influence my path to getting my Associates Degree would be getting out of the
My name is Rafael A Cartagena Jr and I am a junior transfer from Contra Costa College majoring in American Studies with a concentration in Organization in the American Workplace. One important lesson that I learned being a UC Berkeley student is that it carries a great amount of expectations and responsibilities. I also learned that in all honesty being a UC Berkeley student doesn’t mean that you have to be perfect. After being here for two semesters the environment in and out of class was suffocating, observing how students strived for an unrealistic perfection of high grade point averages and high paying jobs after graduation. This is not to say that all the students here are not bound for great accomplishments but it’s as if getting 4.0 grade point averages and taking 16 unit
As an older adult student, this course, CISM 1130, has been a great learning and eye-opening experience. I admit that at the beginning of this course I thought that I had a very good grasp of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, however the assignments revealed to me otherwise. This course has enabled me to move beyond the basics of these programs and develop a more comprehensive understanding of their capabilities. In addition, I have learned to build databases through Microsoft Access. Utilizing these skills can be a great asset both professionally and personally because they are widely used in business and education.
When I first looked over the course outline, I was a little apprehensive about some parts of this technology course… Me? Create a website? (& it actually turned out to be kind of fun!).
My work experience professor, Deborah Kitchin, gave a presentation during our class orientation in October 2017 and stated that the aim of the course is to learn while working. I truly believe this class has helped me achieve that goal. During the past two-and-a-half months that I have worked at my current job, I have gained valuable insight about not only customer service and communication, but also general workplace etiquette. However, there are still a few aspects of my work experience that I would like to improve, especially considering I plan to build a career in the music industry.
Throughout the entirety of this course I have been able to learn a vast amount of things that I did not fully understand before. While I have heard many of these things before, this class has helped me strengthen and fortify my understandings of the things that will be presented on the CSCS. While I do not plan on taking the CSCS until March I have kick started my progress in obtaining this certification because of the effort that I have put into this class, and it has almost become enjoyable to be able to learn as much as I can so that I can really knock it out of the park on the test. This paper will be a synopsis of the things that I have learned, highlighting major topics and points (from the syllabus), and the final grade that I
The company employees: Implemented a new system may create problem with employees such as resistance. In this case it seems that they didn’t adapt their way of working with the new It System. Part of this problem may be due to the complexity of the system itself but there is also a part due to a lock in their intention to really understand the new system. They were also too passive, they didn’t communicate about the problem they were facing. It should have been resolved faster. There was also a problem with the storage, they kept on ignoring the main storage rules and put a complete mess, which was a difficulty for the IT system.
