The word community maintains an assortment of meanings for each of us. These meanings are composed from various life experiences within our communities. To me, my communities include my family, friends, schools, work, and the town I live in. My communities have had an influence on who I have become as a person and continue to influence me on a daily basis. As I reflect back on the past twenty years, the community that has had the most impact on me is my family. Now, everyone has their own definition of family. So, when I say the word family, I am referring to my mom and dad. These two people have had the most influence on my life. From the very beginning, I began to shape the person I am based on the people my parents are. I can remember spending many hours with my dad in his shop, watching him diagnose mechanical problems. Then I would watch as he took apart a machine piece by piece, only to reassemble it exactly the same way once the problem at hand was resolved. As the years progressed, I became closer with my mom, spending the majority of my time with her. I would help her around the house with everyday chores. I can remember the joy I experienced when I was able to go to work with mom. I would watch in awe at the number of tasks my mother was responsible for at one time. How she would swiftly move from one task to another, handling the many interruptions, and balancing the numerous new tasks placed on her desk each day. Spending much of my time with

Also my mom and dad love and care about me and always wants the best for me they always make me laugh and I have lots of fun with them there the best influence in my life . Second influence are my friends because they support me and are always there to help my in tough situations, or if I have questions and there just great people to talk to. My third influence in my life is my church because my church always does programs and helps someone in need they also have classes to take just to learn more about
The best way to define a community will never be clear. You have your own feelings on communities and our thoughts on it will always be different from everyone else's. Everyone has a different perspective on communities, it is endless. All of the definitions relate to what I think about a community. Community to me means “home”. A community is where I have grown up and learned important life lessons. The things that matter most to me in my community are my family, my
A community is a place where people around supposed to be able to live and thrive together. When one thinks of a community, the image that most likely is visualized is one of a place where each person lives harmoniously with all the other members of that community. While this may be the typical image of a community, it is not the realistic view. In reality communities can share both good and bad aspects. In Place Matters: Metropolitics for the Twenty-First Century Peter Dreier, John Mollenkopf, and Todd Swanstrom make the argument that the place a person lives ultimately matters over all else; the place which a person lives effects the choices that that he/she makes and determines his/her ability to obtain a
What is the importance of a community? A community is a loving place where people live and love each other ,but other communities have problems with their inhabitants. First, What a loving community is made of. Second, what a negative community is composed of. The world could always use more loving communities.
For a person like me, the word “community” can mean a lot of things. It could mean a group of Indians I may associate myself with, or maybe a group of muslims. It could also mean something as simple as the neighborhood I live in, or the people I communicate with on a regular basis. But as an American, born to Indian parents who happened to be Muslims, I would consider my community to be quite large. And within my community, symbols, actions, and objects all convey different meanings than what they may convey to other people.
A community is a group of people who live in the same area, interact with each other, and share certain norms and values. A community is defined as a locality-based entity, composed of systems of formal organizations reflecting societal institutions, informal groups, and aggregates that are interdependent and whose function or expressed intent is to meet a wide variety of collective needs (Stanhope & Lancaster, 2012).
A community is the place you've grown up and, usually, the place you call home. The thing about communities is that every-one has their ups, and their downs. There are many aspects to a community that one could be proud of: the heritage of their town or county, the economic advantages, the historic figures that have arose from their city, etc. These are multiple things that people can have pride in their community, for a multitude of reason, but what I'm most proud of is the heritage of my community and the ability to hold up a tradition. I believe that this aspect is the one thing I'm going to remember for the rest of my life when I think of my small town in West Virginia.
Community is the relationships that you form throughout your lifetime. It can be your classmates, coworkers, friends, or your family. I believe that your community has a strong influence on what kind of person you develop into. Every day, my community grows as I meet new people in class. My community has allowed for me to grow into the person that I am today.
It took me eighteen years to spend some quality time with my mother and discover what an incredible journey she has had with my brothers and me. She is the kind of person who has always been very involved with all parts of our daily lives. In fact, she was the kind of mother who always had time for her three sons, worked full-time and had time to devote to community projects too. Her energy and enthusiasm for all of these things seemed endless and she always tried to teach the three of us to see the value in the idea of giving back to the community. I was always glad that she was present at my games and supported me through school, but it took me over a decade to learn what motivated her to be so
The meaning of community covers many areas that are very important to me. First of all, community starts with my family. My parents play a big part in my community, because they have shown me the good and bad things hidden in the surroundings. I remember all the fun times my family and I have had. I remember the days when my parents would wake up early in the morning and take me to the school so I can be there for my band rehearsals, practices or sectionals. I have asked myself why I do not see my parents having a social life. Then I understand now that by taking me and my sister to school day by day as well as the church on Sundays, I realized their commitment in continuing with the support to us, their love and caring. This
Community is very important and has many factors like kinship, unity, and identity. Community helps society because it creates solutions, provides security and reveals dedication. It discovers truthfulness. Communities are part of everyday life and have positive affects on its members.
Often times community is thought of as simply a group of people living in a similar location, you can push that idea from there saying it's shared beliefs or interests, and from that you might discern that community isn’t any more or less than bonds between oneself and something that reciprocates what they hold inside. Breaking up the subject again we begin to wonder not only what is community, but what isn’t it. Trial and conflict are inevitable. There will always be struggle alongside the best of experiences. Though deciding where to draw the line between what can be fixed and what simply is harmful amongst a community will always be a challenge. **
Communities play an essential role in the development of the self and learning about the stranger. Through communities, individuals are able to socialize and create a greater understanding of each other. In The Glass Castle, Jeannette Walls describes the community of which she felt most part of during her childhood. Walls says, “. . .
C. Community: A group of people sharing, participating, and fellowshipping; society as a whole, the public.
I live with a large family, sometimes it limits my ability to have fun, and have what I want. My family consists of seven members, my two parents, two sisters, and two brothers. Having a family that is double that of the national average often doubles the money or time it take to accomplish something. I will be analyzing the effects that a large family has on my life. The effects that it has on the money we have. Also, the effects a big family has on our ability to go out to errands or to restaurants. Finally, how my large family affects the peace and calmness of our house and other places we go, and our ability to make decisions as a group.. This problem affects me every day, and will likely affect the rest of my life as well.
