As a young child, there were so many incidents in my life that made me become the person I am today. There were rough times as well as good times. If I were to tell you all of them, I would remember half of them. I think some of my incidents really had some impact, and some were just simple ways of life. To tell you the truth, the incident that had the most impact on me has to be when my real father left me at the age of three. I never knew my father. I mean being a baby, you really have no experience or recognition of somebody else.

When analyzing an individual as a whole it’s understandable to see that the experiences they go through not only affect that certain individual, but shape them into who they are as well. These certain experiences have lasting effects on certain individuals, which influence the way they see themselves overall. For this particular essay I decided to interview my father and analyze how the experiences he’s been through thus far have shaped him into who he is today. With that being said, when I began interviewing my father, I started off with his childhood and how growing up in Bogota, Colombia affected him as a whole. At first he explained that he had a good childhood in his outside environment, since he regularly played with the kids in his neighborhood, was very social, and enjoyed school very much. However, his home life as he described it was very tense as a child. Growing up, his father was a heavy drinker and practically addicted to gambling during his childhood, which cause many problems to arise throughout this part of his life. Furthermore, he explained that the actions his father portrayed in his childhood made him decide at a young age to be the exact opposite of him. The effect of dealing with that at such a young caused my father to not view the situation in a negative aspect, but used it to motivate him to improve his own life in some way and to get out of there. Over time, there have been several people who have influenced various aspects of my life, based on their personal characteristics, accomplishments, and values. I have been privileged to have had numerous teachers and professors who I respect for their patience and intelligence. There are artists that have inspired me by their natural talents and original creativity. I value many political leaders, who have inspired me by their contributions to society, and their ability to change our futures. Of all the people I have encountered in my life, the person I admire most is my father.

This left my mom with seven kids to raise by herself. Meaning one on one time was rare, because my mom is not a superhero and could not be in multiple places at one time. Grief left my family and I in a place where we did not know what to do, but we eventually got out of it, and continued on with our life. We always remembered the hard working parents we had, and the hard working mother we still had. I am resilient and got back on my feet and continued to attend school, graduated elementary school, and will soon graduate from high school. Although, I have gone through many difficulties it has made me work harder as an individual and choose my career choice at an early age. Being that I was very into the heart at a young age, and my father passing from a heart disease, I always knew I wanted to study cardiology, and will someday soon become a cardiologist.
