I want to major in retail merchandising to broaden my horizons for when I graduate college, and fashion is an aspect of my life I am very passionate about. The past seven months I have worked for a clothing store, Anthropologie, and have realized now as a junior in college retail is something I could see as an exciting career. Although nutrition and retail are not similar, I think adding a retail merchandising minor to my undergraduate career would lead me on a beautiful path post graduation.
The job itself isn’t bad, depending on the shift and the day anyways. Our duty is to cook food in a fryer, oven, rotisserie, slice meat and cheese on a slicer, serve customers, wash dishes, and the list could go on. For example, if there is a night shift there 's a long list of things we have to clean. If the staff work together, we’ll be able to leave work early. For instance last night we were able to get the job done. Megan and I were the only ones there to close the store last night. We are normally supposed to have three people closing and Megan was sick so I had to do a lot of cleaning. She hated the fact that she kept asking me to do things, but I really wasn 't doing anything. Like the phrase same stuff, different day. That 's not how it 's said, but you get the idea.
As I climb the Hierarchy’s ladder with the rise of District Manager for the new Dunkin’ Donuts stores, several factors must be acknowledged, analyzed, promoted, and executed. Opening new stores requires innovative ideas, being ahead of the game with the newest trends, and stabilizing the stores for the least amount of turnovers. Managing stores also means maintaining respect while coaching is vital. This requires feedback on both upward and downward channels of communication. For the purpose of this paper, Dunkin’ Donuts will be assessed and evaluated based on its job and organizational designs, criteria for recruiting and selecting for optimal efficacy, and appropriately training and appraising employees.
My birth took place in Mar del Plata, Argentina, into a family of six including myself. Years passed, my mother gave birth to a girl and was pregnant soon after to another. My father, a strong laboring mechanic decided that it was time he moved his three boys and soon to be three girls from the home he literally built with his bare hands alone, to another country with grander opportunities, not for himself, but for his six children. He decided that with the money that cost him years of tireless work and stress he could only afford passage for himself. He set off for the United States and for months he worked day in and day out, any job he could get his hands on. He paid for our flight and had a modest, dainty apartment awaiting our arrival.
b. Does the issue of branded vs. private label enter into this consideration? Why or why not?
“A good job is more than just a paycheck.” –James H. Douglas Jr. First jobs often provide a variety of experiences for teenagers. In many cultures, getting a job signifies the initial step towards independence from one’s parents. Not only do they represent new found liberty, but they also teach skills needed in the real world. Working at the local Giant grocery store has marked my transition to adulthood by teaching me about interpersonal relations, finance, and time management.
In the fall of 2014, I had just been hired to work as a deli clerk at the local Superstore grocery store. I was jumping off the walls with excitement as I had been pounding the pavement with resumes and cover letters for the entirety of the summer. I wanted a job so that I could save up money for a better drum set. I had been taking lessons for quite some time, but only had an old drum set that had been handed down through my family. I knew that working would not be easy, but I was determined to buy that shiny black drumset at the local music store!
Although your old life contains many memories you may wish to forget, you must remember the determination and commitment you always brought to your work. Your desire to succeed first manifested itself at a very young age, but unfortunately your environment did not offer you opportunities to use your good qualities in a positive fashion. However, today, in the field of sales, the same determination that allowed you to succeed in the world of crime can also allow you to excel as a salesperson.
In United Stated of America, Target Corporation is the second largest discount store retailer and the founder of this corporation is George Dayton. I could regale you with some of the funniest stories from my retail days. Not just about customer interactions. Oh no, I am talking about employees. Now, before I go into this further let me just set this up for you. At the age of 17, I was promoted to an assistant manager position. In the retail business, they refer to it as key-holding. For hopefully obvious reasons. So, I had to quickly adapt to being in a leadership role that put me in charge of employees who were often old enough to be my parent or grandparent.
been working in retail for about 5 years now and if the sales professionals doesn’t
I have been an employee at Pacific Sunwear, a clothing retail store, for a year and throughout my time there I have worked with many different coworkers and managers. As a sales associate I have a strong passion for hard work and a set of values that help guide my career success. The team at Pacific Sunwear is made up of people with different backgrounds, various ages, and diverse cultures that do not always share my work ethics.

What is Wal-Mart dong that seems to fit a definition of “successful” e-commerce operations? What cold they do better? How does shopping on-line compare to your experience looking for a similar type of item at a bricks-and-mortar store? How does this site compare to other experiences you’ve had with e-commerce??
Over the years I have heard stories from my relatives about how much I would like painting my aunts’ nails, wearing my mother’s heels, and debating everyday on what I wanted to wear for school. Matching my clothes, having my nails painted, and having my hair nicely done everyday, were a must for me as a child. Along with always trying to enhance my composition, I have had a love for shopping ever since I remember. Although fashion has always been a focal point in my interests, there has been another prominent factor, which also relates to my career choice just as fashion does. Math is the answer to anybody who asked me what my favorite subject in school was, making it another one of my passions in life. The process
