Through life we have so many different obstacles that we face. When people hear the word change they automatically associate it with something that needs to be fixed or something that is wrong that needs to be made right. I am one of those people who does not like change, change makes people uncomfortable it’s a state in your life when you have to come out of your comfort zone to do something for yourself or for others. A change can be a good thing or bad thing but either way it goes it is something different in your life. An unusual situation that makes a person feel uncomfortable. One thing that changed my life was working with trouble youth. Since I was in high school I always knew what I wanted to do. My mother was an educator and taught kindergarten and I just loved the environment of kids and teens.
I remember my first job working with trouble teens. I was still in college and worked for a company called Youth Villages. I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into but I needed a job and I found this job in the classified. The company was seeking help ASAP! and I need work ASAP! so I wanted to give it a shot. I should have known better when they hired me on the spot at my interview. I was going to be an overnight teacher counselor. I would make sure the girls took their medication, went to therapy, picked them up from school, and interacted with them on the days I had to spend the night. So on paper the job seemed to be rather easy. I remember
Change in our lives is a part of living. Without change we would no be here today living as successfully as we are. People don?t always see changes in their life as for the best, but usually when people see through the
Change is a process that affects individuals and their environments. Some people choose to embrace change, while others resist it. “Macbeth”; the song “The Times They Are A-Changin’” and the episode of the Twilight Zone, “A Stop at Willoughby” all successfully convey the notion of change and demonstrate how individuals and societies can embrace or resist change.
What are you afraid of? Many people are afraid of many things such as death, heights, bugs, or public speaking; but the fear of change ranks high in the list of things that trigger anxiety (Radwan). Is there a reasonable answer why people neglect change nowadays? In fact, there is more than one answer to this question. Change has become such an important aspect of our everyday life that it is impossible to ignore. When it comes to the idea of change, most people will readily agree that some individuals try their hardest to avoid change. The reason behind this known theory is that those individuals don’t fear change; they fear being changed (Rabadam). In the end, change is something that drives them away from wanting to experience other
You cannot be considered a green bug on the brown field. Changes challenge our paradigms. It tests our flexibility, adaptability and alters the way in which we believe. Changes can make life a hardship on awhile, it might cause stress but it can help us find methods to improve our selves. Change is going to be there forever, we should be vunerable to it.
As my experience working with children grows, I would like to gain the skills necessary to run a preschool program. I have worked primarily with infants and toddlers in the past few months, which has become a new focus of mine. Working with such young children allows me to have a productive impact on their cognitive development. This opportunity has been a great encouragement and I hope to run an infant-toddler program within a larger school. My more immediate goals are centered around gaining experiences in different facilities. By exposing myself to different programs and their unique styles, I will be able to see how different procedures, like those for resolving conflict, work for children. With time, these ideas would be integrated into my own program.
When working with children and young people it is important to know the aims and responsibilities for your setting.
I got my first job when I was seventeen years old. Living in a small town, there were only three job options for teenagers. We had a McDonalds, a Waffle House, and an Ingles supermarket. My best friend at the time worked at McDonalds, so my choice was obvious. I thought it was going to be great. I got to work with my friend every day, I got weekends off, and I did not have any bills to pay, so the extra money was a plus. Once I actually started working, my opinion changed very quickly. My friend got scheduled day shifts while I was scheduled to the overnight shifts. Instead of having free weekends, mine were spend caching up on the sleep I missed working every night of the week. It was a wake up call that I was not expecting. I started
I can think of many things that changed my life; my dog dying, my friends moving, high school, my siblings going off college, my trip to China. Just from listing changes in my life I begun to think, “what is the biggest change I have faced?” Change can either be positive or negative. Change is a part of our lives that we can either accept or run away from. Because I am just a person I can say that I have done accepted and ran away from change. Though, I learned I can’t run away from change forever.
Most of people have the desire to integrate their lives to new habits but harder than to know what to do it is to know from where to
In my life, I have been exposed to a challenge called change. Change can occur in many different ways and is dealt with in many different ways. I have come to the awareness that change can be the deepest of all things. I always thought that change occurred when you moved to a state or when you lost someone real close to you. Those are a challenge to change, yes, but change doesn’t have to occur over a climactic incident. It can just appear overnight when your brain winds up when it’s time to do something different. Even with friends that you used to have and know that move on. For example, most of my friends from elementary school, I don’t even talk to them anymore.
The concept of change is relative to time. It is for those who desire improvement in their life. Improvement starts in the mind. You can change your life if you can change your mind.
Change, a word that scares many individuals. At the same time, a word that to some, it presents itself as an opportunity of a life time, a way out, even salvation. To me it appeared as a sacrifice with a life changing reward at the end of the tunnel. Moving constantly as a child between three countries and several schools was definitely not something I expected to encountered. Waking up everyday wondering if the last day where I called home was approaching. Did not realize until my are high schools years that this had many positive aspects. The people I met, the experiences some only witness in movies, and the many Professors I came across with their different instructing styles that always seemed to end up sneaking one more teaching towards that I would end up needing and using for all the endeavors I would eventually encounter. Not to mention the friendships I created which will last for along as I live. Still, it wasn 't until the last time that I moved to the United states that I truly felt overwhelmed, pressured, and Intimidated.
As part of the requirements in order to complete this paper, I took three surveys to determine my stand on change itself. I’ve known that change is the only constant thing in life. People change, situations change, and even nature changes. We have to be prepared for the changes to come around us or we will not be able to make it. In fact, science itself tells us that those who can adapt most to change will those who survive.
Have you ever counted the number of changes happen in a day or how many good things happen to you in a day? I will argue that those two numbers are related. Changes have to be made in order for improvements to be made. That change can happen in anything such as, choosing a priority, ending relationships with people, or moving schools. Shannon L. Adler said “there comes a time in your life when you have to choose to turn the page, write another book, or simply close it”. I agree with this because she is saying that people need to make changes in order to improve their lives.
Change is apart of everyday life, it is inevitable no matter what we do, but it is our choice as people on if we want these changes to be negative or positive. A few years back, I made a promise to myself that as I progress through life, I will always try my best to change for the better and fix myself in areas where I fall behind, but not everyone makes the choice to be better. Some make a choice that affects who they are in a negative way as well as hurting those closest to them, someone I used to hang out made that decision and that caused me to change my perspective on him.
