My First Professional Reflection Among the numerous School of Pharmacy outcomes, the one I have chosen to evaluate my progress is in Personal Management and Leadership. The dynamic nature of the practice of pharmacy requires pharmacists to be aware of the need for personal management. There is a brighter future for pharmacy if pharmacists can manage their time, set goals, and have priorities. They must also be able to plan well in order to develop a health care regimen for patients. When I started college two years ago, I had a tough time with time management because the workload was unexpected. I was overwhelmed and I usually had little time to study. It is necessary for pharmacists to be leaders by collaborating and supporting one another to achieve a common goal. They must be able to respect one another’s opinion and empower one another. After my freshmen year, I was so inspired by how much help I got from the tutors that I decided to tutor calculus. I was inspired because I knew how tough it was to adjust to a new school system when one is swamped with many assignments. Although I had gone through a couple of training sessions at the beginning of the semester, I didn’t know what to expect for my first tutoring session. My first session was with a girl named Jamie. Jamie was having problems solving logarithmic equations. I started by taking a look at her notes from class and it seemed like the professor went over a few problems in class. As a result, Jamie was having difficulty with solving questions unlike what had been solved in class. These were problems I had gone through last year so I knew how to explain the concept to her. I started by asking her questions so she could think through the questions. She struggled through answering the questions but as time went on she gained more confidence and was able to work through the problem herself. I was so proud of her.
