Have you ever wondered what you do every day mean something? Well, it does mean something. Whatever you are doing prior to today will relate to your future. When that happens, you will feel wonderful and proud to have learned and known that something. During my senior year of high school, I discovered everything I learned prior to that year would relate to my future. Writing essays every day helped me to be accustomed to writing. Reading something every day will helped me because that I would learn new information. Using the technologies like the computer is also a part of my meaning to everyday life. Lifelong Learning will always be part of our daily lives wherever we go. To begin with, writing is a lot of fun and creative. During my first year of middle school, I learned how to write in a paragraph format. As my middle school year progressed, my English class did not use writing very much, so my learning about writing in a paragraph format did not follow along with me to high school. When I got to the tenth grade, I was starting to enjoy my tenth grade year until I discovered that I was put into an intensive reading class. When I was put into that reading class, my learning in reading and English got difficult. I felt happy during my senior year because I was not writing as much essays as I did the year before. When I got to college and took an Essential Writing II during my Fall term in 2014, I felt excited because I was refreshing my memory of how to write a paragraph,
During the past three years of my high school years, I have been taking various rigorous classes, which all share a similar purpose which is to strengthen my skills and be ready for entering college, taking college courses and excelling in them. Moreover, during the past three years, I have been challenging myself by taking rigorous classes, having an A in all classes, and maintaining being ranked one of the top students in my school. In addition, to excelling in all my classes, at the same time I am able to work occasionally on my own throughout the school year, as well continue my hobbies, such as photography and riding my ATV, which serve as a time away from academic work and a stress reliever, enjoying life, and finding my passion. Through my high school years, I have learned various skills, which have helped me grow as an individual and prosper both outside and in academic work. Thus, I feel well prepared for what I plan to do next year, which is continuing to take AP classes and excel in them, as well being involved in various clubs, and helping the community. Moreover, I have been constantly pushing myself to my fullest potential and exceeding all expectation and standards, thus I feel prepared for what I am going to face next year. In addition, I arranged my schedule for next year strategically in the way that I will still manage to excel in my rigorous classes and have a large amount of time to be involved in various extracurricular activities, and help the
Throughout my first two years of college, I have had many challenges and successes. I was excited to take this class because it involves something that I have always been interested in. International Studies excites me because it allows me to understand the world on a more practical and realistic level. I had frugal knowledge of relations overseas when I started this class, and now I could not imagine my life before I knew these things. In high school, the only class I took that involved anything on an international level was IB psychology. I was immediately mesmerized by the different cultures I was learning about. When signing up for this class, these intentions and thoughts followed me. International Studies has positively impacted my life in many ways. This class has allowed me to open my mind to many different cultures, this class has helped me understand the different business tactics of other countries, and it has helped me view the United States in a new light.
My first day of my sophomore year of high school starts today. Riverview High School is a huge school and has tryouts for the Kiltie Band Highland Dancers today. If you make it, there is a rumor you are instantly popular. My name was posted on the short list in the hall next to my homeroom class and I am a Highland Dancer now. My best friend Theresa made it also, we have been placed in the same dance group. Even though we are only sophomores we are put into the Senior Dance Group A. This group just happens to be the best dance group at Riverview. We have been informed that we will be in the group that gets to perform at the Inaugural Parade if we make it through the cuts for the Parade.
When I started Unity High School I had a certain idea that I was not going to like the school but overall its a great school. My thought on how high school was going to be like was crowded people having a lot of school pride. How i thought to get through my first year in Unity High School was by doing all of my work being kind to others participating in class and following the classroom rules. I still do these thing because i think that they are great to start the school year with potential and not being a bad student. How i would complete my work in the beginning of the school is that when we had an assignment that was due next week i would do it that same day that they gave it to us because i thought that the teachers was going to check the
As the oldest of the three daughter I was left to take over the house responsibility, due to my mom started working most time in order to keep provide us. Starting my first year in middle school, was already complicated enough not knowing anybody, getting lost, and having to adjust to the new environment around me. And it became more complicated after my dad was sent away from our family. Since we had recently moved to another town. We were still unfamiliar with the city itself and had no family that could help us out. Having left in charge of my two little sister while my mom was at work, I was left to clean, wash and sometimes cook if my mother had not left anything ready the night before. Had to make sure their homework was done and were
It was the beginning of my second year of high school and I had a job interview scheduled for the second Friday in February taking care of my neighbor’s chocolate lab named Justice. However, as a spur of the moment decision, I went onto the Tangle Creek Golf and Country Club website and saw an ad for help in maintenance and so I printed off an application. They offered me an interview for that Friday. I expected to be just cleaning the shop, but when Friday came, they handed me a list of the golf course policies, and told me to return in few weeks with the paper completed and the other requirements done so that when I started my paper work would be done. Four months later, I had my first shift and I began cutting greens and raking bunkers and being able to drive on my own after four shifts. My job was to cut greens, rack bunkers, fixing divots, and make sure the golf course looked very pristine and uniform. Beyond just maintaining the golf course to makes it looked prefect for golfers , I also had side work to complete every night and afternoon that was to keep the shop clean and stocked and all the machines are gases and ready to go for the next day. I hoped that through this job I would learn time management, as well as people skills, work with a wide variety of people and ages and how to maintain a golf course and of course the money was helpful in paying for the car I am saving up for and the other entire thing that I would like to buy. I think people
Absegami High School, this is where I am spending my years of being a high school student. I have been working hard as a student, a teammate, and an assistant. It is crazy how within these flying three years of being a high school student, I have achieved many of my passions. Some of them include being a captain of the school and club swim team, teaching toddlers how to swim and assisting children that are in the progress of learning English. Ultimately, I have sustained an ethical character that will help others and make them feel comfortable to their surroundings.
My Freshman year of high school is nearing an end and I mostly stayed out of trouble, which was a great feat at the time. Until My buddy Sam and I decided to make some money off of our “hobby”. Since we were tired of running out of weed to smoke, we decided to have a bake sale. We googled how to do it and fired up the oven and ground up the weed. After about 30 minutes of baking and assembling crackers we had made three firecrackers, or peanut butter crackers with specially prepared weed in them. We both decided to do some quality control on the product and split one of the crackers and ate it. We smoked like normal and were satisfied with what we made. We discussed the plans and decided our goal was to sell both of the firecrackers tomorrow to make 20$ and get 2 grams to continue the cycle and once we are making a good amount investing in a toaster oven to be more discreet. The next day, being the smart human beings we were we smoked a bowl out of an apple at the bus stop before getting on the bus. When school started we went to gym changed, and started to sell the firecrackers. We told everyone we knew that smokes they were for sale and that they’re 10$ apiece. No buyers. 2nd and 3rd hour roll by then Sam and I went to lunch. I walked over to a table of people I knew and asked, “Does anybody want to buy some firecrackers?” One of them asked, “How much do they cost?” and I responded with “They are 10$” Joe and his friend Carl split the cost and bought one, “One down and one
The beginning of my Senior year of high school has been an interesting ride, to say the least. Completely new classes and concepts have been thrown my way and I’ve been trying my hardest to catch them. I thought I would be better prepared for some of my classes I’m taking this semester, but it seems like I must start at square one on the majority of my courses. The only way I’ve been able to keep on top of the new information is extreme time management, new study habits, discovering and utilizing efficient study strategies, and asking for help well I needed it.
Coming into the school year, I did not know what to expect. Entering my second year of high school, I wasn’t nervous but rather anxious to get back to school. Looking back on the year, it went by extremely fast. The school year usually goes by quickly but in my opinion, it was one of the fastest years in my 11 years in school. If I had to decide, I would say the year was better than I expected as I encountered new obstacles, became more mature as a person, and developed new goals going into next year.
It was the year 2014 and summer had come to a close. My mind had suddenly switched from lounging on the warm, sandy beach and being gently kissed by sunshine to traumatizing, stressful high school. My first year of high school-what was it going to be like? Who was I going to be friends with? Am I going to get terrible grades? These thoughts flooded my mind and I was nervous. Thinking about being a highschooler made my throat close up and my heart beat faster. I was overcome with fear and excitement, going into the unknown and stepping into a freaky future. Soon the time had come to experience my classes that I had carefully selected earlier in the summer. I was especially excited, however, about my elective that I had chosen: classical drawing. Little did I realize that this decision would teach me perseverance and work ethic, while opening up a world of possibilities.
Wow Ive came this Far to the first day of me becoming a grown up. It was pretty cool it was the first day of the rest of my ¨life¨ my grown up life. I had my outfit all set up on the chair by my bed, you could definitely say that i was prepared.
It was two weeks before my first day of highschool when I started my first college class. I was signed up for an American History class to see what college would be like. My school tried to talk me out of enrolling in the P.S.E.O program because of how many high school freshmen fail classes in their first semester. The school’s suggestion was that I should wait until I was a Junior because then I would be ready for the difficulty of college classes. However, what my counselors didn’t tell me was that most of the freshmen who fail in P.S.E.O classes fail because they don’t know how to study for the tests.
A young man starting high school in a few weeks sat by a window thinking to himself. Most of his thoughts were about how scary it would be on the first day of school. His palms began to sweat, and he started biting his nails out of nervousness. Weeks of worry and self-doubt passed when finally the day arrived. The first day of school.
My last year in high-school. My last regional track meet. My last throw. Everything I had been working towards for the last four years came down to this very moment. On a scorching hot spring day, weary and patient athletes from all across Oklahoma gathered in Cordell around a concrete ring; watching intently as the furthest discus thrower in the region arrived at his final throw. All attempts before this had landed outside the throwing boundaries, so they did not count. This increased the pressure tenfold as I grabbed the metal disc that was to be my last chance at State. I slowly stepped into the ring, took a deep breath, and shifted my weight onto the balls of my feet to prepare for the final toss. In this one moment, all of my experiences that brought me to this place rushed forward in my mind.
