“The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand”. This inspiring quote said by legendary football coach, Vince Lombardi, describes the characteristics in order to be successful. Like football, to be a successful Honors student at Hillsborough High School, students must possess the will to succeed above normal expectations. This drive to succeed, inspires diligent, dedicated, driven Honors students. I, like many other successful Honors students, am hardworking, determined, and intelligent.
Determination endures an important necessity in success: without the drive to win, nothing will be accomplished. I am extremely determined to win, succeed, or accomplish in everything I do; no matter how small or large the task. For example, I was in a situation once, where my coach wanted to put me in a difficult spot in cheer because the former girl was struggling and not able to hit the skill. Since the athlete was not hitting, the skill was to be “watered down” (made less difficult), causing our score to decrease. As a result, the coach placed me in the stunt with the pressure to hit or be replaced like the previous

Honor scholars are viewed as role models for their peers, therefore honor students commit to establish a positive atmosphere. By virtue of the clubs I am involved in, such as Student Council and TOPS, and the community service I complete, I would make a favorable member of the honor roll program. In addition to being a leader, honor students must be intelligent. As for being smart, I am in an advance reading and writing class and obtain outstanding grades. Teachers look for students who are involved in group discussions, are quick to think of responses, and interact with other students, like me. As you can tell, I am “book smart” and have a great deal of common
The National Honors Society boasts of members with significant academic accomplishments, selfless hours of community service, and strong leadership capabilities as a representative of the school’s excellence. Becoming a member of the National Honors Society is a prestigious honor. As a student, I strive for excellence in my academics and have made the honor roll every quarter, showing my aim and dedication to reaching my highest potential. I try not to compete with other students, but with myself. My academics are the result of my hard work, and my dedication towards grades correlates to the dedication I have towards becoming a leader and a role model for the community.
Before I joined the National Honor Society (NHS), my ideal characteristics for a successful student included earning straight A’s every semester, taking challenging courses, and, ultimately, ranking myself among the top students of my class. I was trapped in my own model student, exhausting myself with grades and incessant school work. It was an endless cycle. However, when I became a member of NHS, I was reborn. The Society’s four pillars—Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character—have gradually reshaped my definition of a successful student.
To be an honors student it means you are responsible and respectful. A honors student should be ready to take a task and fulfil it to the best of their ability. It means they are ready to challenge yourself with complex tasks and complete them responsibly while going above and beyond.
I believe that I would be an asset to National Honors Society due to the many characteristics I portray daily. Growing up I’ve always been taught to be honest, diligent and dedicated to every aspects of my life; whether it be academics, extracurricular activities, or hobbies. I am a natural leader, yet I am very open to collaboration. I stay prompt and organized in all of my pursuits. I strive to be the trustworthy person whom others aspire to be.
The National Honor Society is not only a privilege to be a part of, but is an outstanding achievement for the person. To be a member of the National Honor Society, I believe I must have characteristics such as: being a role model and having leadership, superb academic standings, and an overall character that will encourage others. I want to be a member of the National Honor Society because I feel like I qualify for the characteristics I have listed above. As for being a role model and having leadership, I have never been in any kind of trouble, and I am always open to help anyone who needs it, including schoolwork or personal matters. My grades are also up to par with academic standards. I have been on the Honor Roll for as long as I can remember,
Qualifying for National Honors Society is a great honor and is the apotheosis of my highschool career. As a highschool student in arduous honors classes, I am faced with challenges on a daily basis that might discourage me from achieving my goals in life. Because high school can be rigorous and stressful at times, I have realized how these hindrances should be the reason for me to persevere towards greatness and to learn who I truly am. A National Honor Society member showcases leadership, service, exemplifies positive character, and an outstanding academic excellence at the same time. I believe that I display these characteristics, and would be an asset to the organization .
As a member of National Honors Society, I hope to contribute towards being involved and helping to improve our community both in and out of the school environment. Within school, I do my best to represent myself academically and challenge myself to new material when given the opportunity. This can be reflected by my grades and GPA, which I will continue to work on as my high school career progresses. I have always done whatever it took to keep myself in the honor roll, and have kept myself within that range ever since middle school when honor roll started to be announced. I not only represent myself academically, but I represent our school when doing activities such as sports and music. My skills are well pronounced in whatever extracurriculars
I believe the program is searching for a student that exemplifies great academic achievement, strong leadership qualities, good work ethic, and strong dedication. These qualities ensure that the student is willing and able to complete the requirements of the honors program and go above and beyond them. Great academic achievement is an important factor for the program because it shows that the student has the ability to undertake the challenge of the program. I believe I have the ability to undertake this challenge because my grades have lead me to receive academic honors and offers. I was honored through my induction into the National Honors Society following after my junior year.
The honor society awards students who show the qualities scholarship, leadership, and character and offer their service to the community. From this opportunity, I learned that grades are not the only thing that make a person, it is how a person presents himself or herself as a member of the community and what they do in their community. I have also learned that little deeds go a long way. Giving
As an honor student, you have to have great work ethics. In classes, honor students have fast paced courses and are expected to keep up and maintain a passing grade. Also being organized and accepting the challenge of working harder than others would. To me, being an AIG/ honors student means working as hard as I can and that I had to be quick with learning new things. In these classes we never took it slow, always fast paced. We were learning something new about every three days. We would have tests each week and then combine work we did into one test. It would be tough to remember each formula and strategies to
Being accepted into the National honors society is not only and honor, but most importantly a privilege. This means that I have achieved many academic goals, such as my 3.86 GPA, and success in many of my other clubs as well. I have taken multiple honors classes throughout high school and excelled in them. They have taught me a strong positive work ethic and gave me the criticism that I need to better myself. Also, I have been given the responsibility as Captain of my golf team. My job is to instill confidence and inspiration to my teammates ensuring them that they can accomplish the highest of goals on the golf course. Not to mention that is only one of my leadership rolls at Middletown High School South.
Determination is simply not giving up. No matter how hard things get, or how badly you want to just give up, you keep on going. Sometimes you just want to let go, when it seems like what you’re going for is just out of reach, sometimes you tell yourself if what you’re trying to get is worth the great amount of effort that you put in it. When things get hard, you start thinking that its not worth it, and you just want to let it go, but let me tell you this, the more pain and suffering you put into something, the better it'll feel when you get it.
Our team practice everyday for 2 hours and our record was 23-1. We were the first team ever to win in our age division to ever win for St.Mary’s. We had a hard time in the beginning of the season. One of our best players injured her knee. She was running towards the loose ball and her knee twisted. She was out for the rest of the season. Looking back on it made me better because I learned how hard you to to practice or try to achieve your goal.
What's mine is yours. Having lived a year in a student hostel I understood this phrase was the best to describe my first year student life. We shared everything: all of bright spots, all of difficult moments, all of the books and all of the cakes. My roommates are my best friends now and I trust them as I would myself. I believe amazing adventures and close friendship are waiting for us too! Also I believe, my dear roommate, you’ll get at least one new hobby living with me. I promise I’ll share to you with my frenzy for mountains. Oh, that’s really amazing! I’m a participant of the university tourist all around team(sports tourism university team member) and every weekend we get to go to incredibly picturesque places of Zailiyskiy Alatau.
Almost everyone is proud of themselves knowing they did an accomplishment. My achievement is different from others, it is unusual than others. Different is good, right? To others, it is weird, but I disagree, being different is my style. Yet here I am willing to share my accomplishment.
