Flames shot twenty feet into the air. Drums blared, guitars strum, and one tear escaped my eye. This was the greatest experience of my life, I was finally getting to see my hero, Paul McCartney. While most kids of the generation look up to the the likes of Justin Bieber, and Ariana Grande, I differ. My hero has integrity, he stands up for what he believes in, even if it’s not a popular opinion. Even better is his ability to inspire, his lyrics and rhetoric make people change for the better. A true hero has the ability to make people act, not by force, but because they want to.
It is not easy to stand up for what one believes in when he is criticised by the public or media. Being able to stand against the regular cultural norms and do what is right is a strong identifier of integrity, and that is what Paul McCartney does. The greatest example of this was in the late 60’s, when Paul was a Beatle. This was the stadium era, a time for concert goers that was ushered in by The Beatles. The unfortunate piece of the however, was the fact that this era still involved segregation. Paul and the Beatles would not stand for this tolerance, the most amazing piece to keep in mind is that at the time they were just teenagers. They showed integrity when after hearing that a concert of theirs would be segregated they released this statement “We never play to segregated audiences and we aren’t going to start now. I’d sooner lose our appearance money,” it’s embarrassing to admit that these
“It’s not true that there are no heroes anymore…” (Oliver Stone SB 63) Heroes. Today when we hear heroes we think of superheroes with powers. but have we really thought what heroes really are? Heroes are your regular everyday people that work to the best of their abilities to make a difference in the world. A hero is not someone who thinks about themselves but someone who does things that they believe are right and are admired or idealized for their courage.
A hero can teach many life lessons, morals and various other things. A hero is someone who can be seen as a role model or hope to people. A view of a hero is different to everyone. A hero can save someone from a fire, they can be there to give support or even enlighten people. My heroes may differ from another person writing this same paper. The title hero is given to people for multiple reasons.
A hero is not a person with strength or a person how fight monsters. A hero is a person that inspires you to be the best you can be, a person how tells you that there is nothing in the world that you can’t do, a person how will speak to you in a different way. My hero doesn’t need strength or able to fight monster, but their able to change your life in a different way. My heroes inspire me to be the person I can be today and other every day. The people in my store inspire me to do thing I never want to do but they make me do it by changing my mind. The reason I picked these people because they don’t just inspire me they inspire other people to.
Rock and roll is about passion and honesty. In this paper I will describe how one band and another artist used their talents to fuel these traits. I will outline the events that lead up to the British invasion, what influenced the Beatles while dominating the world, and how they influenced the world around them. As time moves forward, I will describe the changing tides in the seventies and eighties for women’s rights and how Madonna used her music as a voice for those who couldn’t be heard.
The last person I’d speak today as a hero is Adam Levine. Adam has been part of Maroon 5, a band that has been widely popular since the early 2000s. He is known for speaking about the issues of ADHD and for being an ally of the gay community as his brother is gay. As someone with ADHD, Adam was part of a campaign that had people talking about what ADHD was and why this was a huge deal. He was also an advocate for gay youth after people were more aware of the existence of his gay brother and he made sure to let it be known that he was in full support of his brother and the gay community.
This new woman strayed from her mother’s “happy housewife,” and was more confident and forceful. New men were more vulnerable, and wore tighter pants. The Beatles and their music were a signal of change in the nation. This phenomenon was more than just a groupie love for the Beatles, but a symbol of
The sound of metal crushing as the collision head-on destroyed my thinking path. I felt as if the night was fading into complete darkness. All I could think about as we collided against the mound at the north side of the hill down the gloomy stretch of road was death. The car rolled over continuously till every engine part flew from under the hood. After the car finished rolling I checked to my left to see if Sam was still alive, he was bleeding from his mouth and unresponsive. The right front passenger door was crushed, I couldn't seem to free my right arm, I was trapped. I use my left arm to tug at my right arm free it, I screamed in pain as I pulled and pulled to notice my arm was broken. I managed to pull my right arm away from the crushed door after 10 minutes of agonizing pain shooting through my nerves.
Martin Luther King, Jr., always fought for what he believed in. No matter how difficult the fight got he never gave up. He always accepted the call to adventure. High school is soon coming to an end and I will begin my own hero's journey.
Throughout the history of rock and roll there have been a countless number of artists that have brought forth social and cultural changes, that had voices strong enough to stand above the crowd and send messages out to the masses. When people use their talents and resources to stand as an advocate for the rest of the little people that fall under the struggle they are speaking up for,
Heros are so much more complex than they are simple. Heros big or small, real or fictional. Heros can range from someone like Superman to someone like Beowulf or from someone like my mom. This is one reason out of the many of why heroes are so complex. You don't have to slay monsters to be a hero. Your average fictional hero doesn't sound like that does it. Fictional heroes save damsels in distress, hunt for treasure and save the day. But if all the heroes in the world were exactly the same, would they really be heroes? Now a lot of heroes are like but none are the same. They all have different motivations, different goals such as wanting you to have some feeling of comfort after a breakup, killing a monster with their bare hands, telling you that everything will get better after your boyfriend dies, or even defeating a dragon.
It was a new kind of power.” I believe this is the most important part of the article because it shows the impact the Beatles had on this generation of people. They gave this generation of young teenagers a sense of challenging authority figures, mainly the norms that their parents have set for them. I think this statement really shows the impact the Beatles had on the American youth. The Beatles, as the reader can see, were more than just a boy band, they were a revolutionary movement for the people of the authors age to test the authority figures around them.
Heroes are not always people who lead marches or do things for their country. For example policemen, firefighters, nurses, lifeguards etc. are heroes everyday because they take the time to save lives. When they’re going through a challenge or trying to overcome a conflict they always have courage. These people risk their own life to save someone else’s. To be more specific Dr. Ginger Holt from Dallas had saved a little boy’s leg. She was confident and determined to finding out what went wrong in the boy’s leg and went through many procedures looking at the tests.
John Lennon had a heavy influence on not only England but the world as a whole. His music was heard by all, his philosophies inspired many, and everyone seemed to love him. “I'm not afraid of death because I don't believe in it. It's just getting out of one car, and into another. ”(lennon)
What is a hero? In my view a hero is someone that you admire. You may
why he was so loved. It was clear that he was sincere in his beliefs
