What makes a person a hero? Are you a hero to someone? My definition of a hero would be someone who has an impact on you and your life, who is brave and has courage. Someone who wants to help you, who teaches you, and is always there for you. I have many people in my life that fit that description. Such as my mom, dad, sisters, aunts, uncles, close friends, my grandparents, and many more. In this case I will be talking about why my grandparents are my heroes.
My grandparents have been there for me for as long as I can remember. They help me when I need advice, they are easy to talk to, come to my sporting events and overall are just amazing people. I always love getting to spend time with them when we visit at the lake. My grandpa is retired and loves reading and fishing. My grandma worked at J&K Marine who is a writer and enjoys reading. I get many traits from my grandparents such as my sass and sarcastic humor from my grandpa and my kindness and caring personality from my grandma. Throughout these years these two have taught me many lessons in life like never giving up, hard work, kindness, and helping others.
When I was about 13 years old my parents told me, my grandpa had stage four colon cancer and was going to need treatment as soon as possible. He received radiation, chemo through an IV, and chemo pills to help remove the cancer. He drudged through the tough times so he could reach the quality ones. Sometimes when we go visit, he is sick from the treatment but he pushes through it so we don’t worry about him and so he can spend time with us while we were there. He eventually got his colon removed and the cancer was gone. Although the following year he was once again diagnosed with cancer in his liver twice and would have to remove the cancerous portion of it. We all knew it was getting tough for him to fight off the cancer but he continued to fight for his family and for my grandma. He discarded that cancer and was well for another couple years, until recently he was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. When my family and I were told the news, it was very upsetting and emotional for all of us because he has been fighting it for so long and it just keeps spreading
The definition of a hero is someone that has distinct qualities like courage. Someone that is admired for his or her brave actions and sacrifices. Someone who puts the wants and needs of others before his or her own. The definition of a hero for me is my father, Charles Edward Johnson Jr. He often has much on his plate, but still finds a way to be a true father to my brother and me. My dad demonstrates all the qualities of a hero and then some.
Did you know my grandpa fought in the Vietnam War? Though he was not a soldier, he was a Vietnamese citizen who had lived there all his life and had sacrificed his life for others. My definition of a hero is someone who voluntarily does something to help others without being asked. They sacrifice their lives for others. My grandpa is my hero. He is a fighter, caring, and brave.
“Heroes represent the best of ourselves, respecting that we are human beings. A hero can be anyone from Gandhi to your classroom teacher, anyone who can show courage when faced with a problem. A hero is someone who is willing to help others in his or her best capacity.” (Ricky Martin). Being a hero can shape a community as a whole, some people can make a positive impacts but somehow the hero's might not even be recognized and be unscathed of any praise. But also some people consider others heros but do not fit in necessary . A hero is someone who influences makes a positive impact on a person or community.
A hero is someone who is admired and valued for their courage, outstanding achievements, and noble qualities. A hero to one person may not be a hero to another. I strongly agree with this definition for a hero to a person is not always a hero to others. In saying this, my hero is Isabelle Bruce Reid because she was the first female to qualify in Australia as a veterinarian. To me, Isabelle Reid was a name in history who changed the world, is valued and is a great role model.
My aunt encourages me in everything I do and wants to know about school and sports. If I ever need a ride to school, sports, and field trips, I can always count on her. She has helped to increase my confidence and to believe in myself. I have learned from my Aunt that being a well-rounded person is important. She works hard at her job, makes time for friends and family, and is active at our church.
My grandpa is the best grandpa ever , he teaches me stuff and always cheers me up when I'm sad . He always helps me when I don't know what I'm doing and no matter what we are doing doesn't matter if it's working or not we always have fun together and I know I don't see him a lot but when I do I cherish the moments I have with him . That is why my grandpa is my Michigan hero
What makes a hero? In the dictionary the definition of a hero is “a person, typically a man, who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities”. My hero is the Chris Kyle, he is my hero because he saved hundreds of lives while he served as a navy seal and he also took many lives from terrorist. He is labeled as an American hero for all the service he gave to this great country.
A hero to me is somebody who goes out of their way to help others for the better. There is no better definition of a hero than anyone who works for good and never turns their back on those in need.
A hero is defined as a person, who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. What is your perception of a hero? Is it a “hero” from the movies, like spiderman or batman? The idea of heroism is widespread and many opinions arise from the concept. A hero is someone who goes out of their way for another’s well being. Calvin Coolidge, a writer, once said, “Heroism is not only in the man, but in the occasion.” (Brainy quote). For one to actually be a hero, one must take the opportunity at any occasion. Heroism occurs often in the real world, many examples are established in novels, and there are many different opinions among the theory of heroism, but in reality the only real meaning is one who helps
A hero is not always a person that can fly or that has superhuman powers. A hero is somebody that helps another person out in a time of need. This can be anything from being in a life or death situation, or just stepping in and helping when another person is getting bullied. A Hero can be anybody, young, old, man or woman. However, you do have to have some special characteristics that not everybody has. Heroes have to want to help, put others before themselves, be brave and courageous, and be a leader.
What I think of a hero is someone who is brave, strong, trustworthy, who can protect you, and make your life a whole lot better in so many ways. A hero to me is a person that will always be there for you no matter what, they will stick by your side, even when things get a little rough and tough, my tutu has never left my side and I know my tut will always be there for me either if I'm upset, mad, sad, or even celebrating an accomplishment.
A person who overcomes antagonistic and unnecessary issues in a mature and powering manor. That is the definition of a hero to me. Someone who is being hurt and sees others hurt from the actions and takes charge and does everything in his power to change it. Someone who puts others before themselves and acts in the most chivalrous way. The definition of a hero is different for everyone. Some one might think of a hero as someone who can lift a car and put it on their back, or gives a dying person their kidney. Yes all of those people are forms of hero’s. You can’t tell someone that they are not a hero just because they don’t change into a disguise in a telephone both or can throw lightning bolts from a cloud. Everyone is a hero in their
To me, a hero is someone that makes things better for someone else. Someone who dedicates their life to changing other people’s.
Are you a hero? What do you think defines a hero? Being a hero is not someone who is greedy or someone who changes the world. A hero is someone who is brave, determined, innovative, and someone who has leadership; people like Malala Yousafzai, Steve Jobs, and Dale Beatty are heroes. Anybody can be a hero and change the world
Last year, I went through the hardest things I 've ever been faced with in my life. I lost my grandpa and two months later I lost my aunt and soon after our home was foreclosed on. This left me thinking, " Is this the end of the beginning or the beginning of the end". What I needed was something to help get me through these traumas. That 's where my hero, Ozzy Osbourne, comes in. In the essay "My Heroes", Elizabeth Berg describes how her daughters hero is her friend Laura. Her mother was in shock and didn 't understand why her daughter didn 't appreciate "real" heroes such as Martin Luther King. Berg 's message was that anybody can be a hero, celebrity
