I’ve always heard that high school would be the best four years of my life. It took me 3 of those 4 years to realize that that statement is completely true. While I was in 8th grade, almost finished with middle school, the idea of a place filled with angst and hormone raged teens stuck in a room with each other never thrilled me. I was never the type of person to be ready to grow up. Once I started freshman year, I was almost certain that everyone was lying to me about it being the best experience of my life. When I stepped into my first classroom of my first year of high school, I was happy to see people that went to middle school with me, but also terrified to see people I had never seen before in my life. I was starting to wonder what was so great about this place.
I tried to be pretty involved throughout my freshman, sophomore, and junior year. I attended all of the pep rallies, football games, dances, and I was even in tennis freshman year. But I still felt like I wasn’t getting enough out of my high school experience. Because of this, my freshman and sophomore years were not very memorable. It was the end of my sophomore year when I realized I wanted to be in choir.
I’ve always enjoyed singing my entire life but I was always too shy to pursue a class dedicated to it. I had heard about a choir class called “Reflections”, it’s a show choir that consists of singing and dancing. As soon as I heard about this class, I knew I had to be a part of it.
