Coming to school 8,000 mile away from home and family, I was terrified and nervous when I stepped into ULM. I heard about the Honors Program from some of my senior Nepalese brothers and I was interested to join the program. “Since I have taken the step of coming this far for the sake of quality education, why not take one more step towards setting myself apart?,” I thought. Anirudha Dasgupta was the guy I followed to look for Dr. Stockley. My imagination of Dr. Stockley was a strict old man who emphasized merely on discipline and study. He turned out not to be so when I started knowing him eventually. Instead, he was one of the coolest professors I’ve known on campus. My Honors adventure began with the University Seminar 1001 class with Dr.
Old timers will see Chief Jones’ as an outsider that will weak when dealing with personnel and politicians, have no concept of what the work needs to be done on the scene of a large commercial working structure fire or how to properly deal with a mass casualty incident because she is a woman. Certain staff members will more than likely go even further and say that she did not earn her position ,consider her a second class officer and others will call her the token woman so that Union County can say they adhere to the Equal Employment Act and they even have a woman as the leader of one department. These are just a few of the ill feeling and statements that some will say when she attempts to apply changes that they will strongly resist

Over the past two years (2014-2016) I have participated in the National Junior Honors Society. As a member, I commit to completing community service and to learning among my peers in order to develop into a superior leader. I have taken part in activities such as fundraisers, team building activities, and several forms of community services such as working in a soup kitchen, daycares and organizing social events. Recently, I volunteered for a week as a vendor at a temple in Tacoma, raising money for the establishment during the Cambodian New Year festival.
In order to maintain a membership in the National Honor Society, each individual must follow these principles and guidelines provided by the Belgrade High School National Honor Society. Consequently, in not doing so you will be removed from NHS.

At the College of Charleston, you are exposed to a plethora of different people from different states, countries and walks of life. Unlike high school, everyone hasn’t grown up in the same neighborhoods or exposed to the same ways of thinking. When I came into college, I ended up not following my dream of doing track and field and decided to just focus on my academics. In doing so, I became involved with different clubs and organizations that were heavily based on academics. One club in particular was a honors organization that included a lot of students from CofC’s honors college. During finals week, we would all meet up in the library or go to Kudo for a study session. I remember asking one student how he was able to stay up for such long
I am a senior graduating in spring 2016. I am interested in joining the Alpha Phi Sigma Honor Society. I meet every requirement except the cumulative GPA. At this time my cumulative GPA is a 3.17 nevertheless, I have a GPA of a 3.75 in my criminal justice course. In spring 2015, I was double majoring in Chemistry and Criminal Justice. I am interested in becoming a forensic scientist. When my workload started to get overwhelming I dropped chemistry just to focus on criminal justice. I want to know is it possible I can still join Alpha Phi Sigma Honor Society.

Throughout middle school, I participated in NJHS. I enjoyed the club and my advisors always recommended that I join NHS in high school. I like to think that I deserve this honor and this chance because I have worked very hard to get here. Leadership is one of my greatest attributes, and helping others is a passion of mine. Moreover, I am extremely ambitious, giving my all when completing a task or reaching a goal. My dream is to become a surgeon and I want to engage in the National Honor Society throughout high school and college, as the club will significantly enhance my leadership skills and aid in bettering myself as a person. This club can help me in the future to become a surgeon where leadership and courage will be the key to being
In the course of my time at Union County College, I was able to participate in measures that aided my community and those in need. I took part in the donation and creation of care bags which were donated to the Salvation Army. This initiative was made by AESNJ as part of their statewide drive to help those who lack the resources needed to obtain day to day necessities such as hygienic supplies, socks, tissues and other essentials. Additionally, I made a financial contribution which went towards aiding Syrian children. Helping individuals in need encouraged me to participate in Strides against Breast Cancer a walkathon which generated money for women whose lives were impacted by cancer. The financial donations assisted women who were unable
I would like to be a part of the National Junior Honor Society, because it is a huge honor to be recognized by the teaching staff of the Andrews Middle School. This society will also help me on future job applications. It would look good on any job I would apply too. Moreover, it is very nice to be recognized by the Andrews’ staff. I feel I demonstrate the five pillars and show leadership among my peers, and I am glad my hard work has been noticed. In addition. I am proud to be sorted into a group of students my age working towards to the same goals as me. I want to be able to show my fellow students a good example of a student. Furthermore, I want something to challenge me to get good grades. Of course, I also want to help the Andrews’ community
The Texas A&M University Honors Program is much more than an ephemeral stepping stone towards medical school for me. While I am cognizant of the fact that I would be well prepared to achieve my goals even with a non-honors diploma, I recognize that the Honors Program would be an imperative step in my academic development and success. All throughout my life I have challenged myself to work towards excellence. Whether that be in sports, school, or my relationships with those around me, I have never chosen to settle because I realized I can accomplish so much more. The Honors Program will provide me with the tools necessary to thrive in a valuable environment of perpetual competition in which I will utilize the opportunities given to me in the
The National Honors Society (NHS) is a group in which leadership, teamwork, and motivation skills are all developed, among a collection of other characteristics through various service projects. Granted these are the benefits listed on the website and not known to me through personal experience, I am certain that being apart of NHS would be beneficial to my life in preparing to enter the real, independent world and head off to college within the next few years. As a soft-spoken scholar, NHS would provide a way for me to familiarize myself in a collaborative and teamwork-filled setting that could better prepare me for jobs, as well as it would teach me to be a leader, and push me into the world to help and think about others rather than just
The Victorian Era was one of great changes in England. Revolutionary movements, such as the Chartist demonstration and the fall of the Second Empire in France, paved the way for new ideologies. The Pre-Raphaelites were inspired by the changing atmosphere of the times and through their art attempted to introduce emotion, realism and originality back into British painting. The members of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood were John Everett Millais, William Holman Hunt, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, F.G. Stephens, Thomas Woolner, James Collinson, and William Michael Rossetti. These seven men chose to reject the Italian Renaissance, in particular Raphael’s influence, which was the style favoured by the British Royal Academy. Part of the
