I would describe my identity as a very unique one. For instance it was developed over years of hard-work and misfortune. Growing up in low income family I’ve learned to appreciate what comes to me when it comes to me, this has taught me to be patient and to live within my means. Growing up in a very violent and troubled part of the city meant I could not grow up normally, I was sheltered (continuously). I could not play outside or visit friends, it wasn’t until my mother became a realtor and my father gained a promotion which led to us moving away from what is now more of a slum than what it was. At the age of eight my parents divorced and as a result of this I learned to be independent and self-sufficient. I was primarily raised by very strong …show more content…
Through years of being surrounded by wildlife I finally figured out my calling, which is animal rehabilitation or at least to set up some sort of refuge for animals who would otherwise perish in the wild. With this being said, I also focus my efforts towards the environment, which ultimately led to me beekeeping. I believe that if you do your part to solve a problem you have every right to complain about it, however, I don’t mean to come off as being irresponsibly dauntless, what I mean is that if you play your part, fix the problem (or at least help solve the problem), you can never hold it against yourself for not trying or succeeding. As much as a cliché as it may seem I believe that harsh times build character and that they most certaninly do not last forever. As years pass, from studying animals and plants on a daily basis, I’ve learned that life, regardless of what is in front of it or holding it back will always find a way to persevere. Never in my life would I have ever pictured myself training and rehabilitating dangerous birds of prey and various reptiles, nor did I picture myself dealing with swarms of bees at such a young
What is personal identity? This question has been asked and debated by philosophers for centuries. The problem of personal identity is determining what conditions and qualities are necessary and sufficient for a person to exist as the same being at one time as another. Some think personal identity is physical, taking a materialistic perspective believing that bodily continuity or physicality is what makes a person a person with the view that even mental things are caused by some kind of physical occurrence. Others take a more idealist approach with the belief that mental continuity is the sole factor in establishing personal identity holding that physical things are just reflections of the mind.
In sociology, ascribed is a position or identity that is neither earned nor chosen, but assigned at birth or assumed involuntarily later in life like race, sex, or having a disability. On the other hand, proscribed is a position or identity that is earned or chosen such as gender, parenthood, or being a student. Having a minority ascribed and proscribed identity in a society that has not moved on from racial, economic, and gender inequality becomes challenging for those who are not the majority. However, there are also advantages to having a minority ascribed and proscribed identity. I have experienced the benefits and disadvantages of having a minority ascribed and proscribed identity. My ascribed identity is Afro-Latina, while my proscribed status is being a poor single young mother who is a student.
My family shaped my personal and social identity at a micro level by being the first set of influencers the moment I was born. My personal identity is significantly influenced by my family through the approach that my parents have taken to raise and nurture me. The results of my parents raising me is shown through the behaviour and beliefs that I embody. For example, because of my family I have always been aware that there is a God. In consequence, my compliant behaviour towards religion has already been constructed at a young age. Moreover, my social identity’s structure was shaped by my family through they way they have socially interacted with me. My micro level interactions with my family throughout time has created a deeply rooted influence within me. The influence that my family has had on my social identity is demonstrated in the way that I respond in certain social situations. For example, through behavioural observation as a child I have learned not to speak back to my parents when they are lecturing me.
On the alternative, the identity of the wealthy was one of great excess. In a time of little to no laws regarding business and trade, many men were realizing the many ways to play the system for their own
Colonial America was not always the nationalistic utopia some people assume it to be. Before the
Identity is a state of mind in which someone recognizes/identifies their character traits that leads to finding out who they are and what they do and not that of someone else. In other words it's basically who you are and what you define yourself as being. The theme of identity is often expressed in books/novels or basically any other piece of literature so that the reader can intrigue themselves and relate to the characters and their emotions. It's useful in helping readers understand that a person's state of mind is full of arduous thoughts about who they are and what they want to be. People can try to modify their identity as much as they want but that can never change. The theme of identity is a very strenuous topic to understand

All throughout history people have used collective norms to place people into different boxes. These boxes come with a list of rules and detailed instructions on how to act and how to look. Within each box, is another group of people being placed into more boxes. The deeper into the box you go the more restrictions and rules you have to follow. These boxes symbolize the different labels society uses in order to distinguish our Identities. The reason why the various aspects of our identity seem different is because of the societal pressure to fit into each category perfectly. However, our generation has been persistently trying to break these restrictive labels by defying the stereotypes that go along with them. By reading my classmate’s identity

Hello Ms. Caruso! It’s been a while since I last talked to you. In case you don’t recognize this email address, I’m Cas, also formally known as Arline Bautista. I wanted to write to you to share some recent experiences and also discuss some topics that I feel no one can help me with except for you. I say this partially due to the fact that you made a huge impact on me during my time at University High, but also since you are probably the most well-rounded and educated person I know in my life. I understand that in class we never formed a close relationship as some of my peers did, so this email may seem like it came out of the left field. As already mentioned, I decided to reach out to you as I feel you are the person who can
Social media has become a huge part in any person's life. In today’s society, knowing how to use the internet or social media is almost as important as knowing how to read. Bid companies know how to use these sites to their advantage. Everyday these companies are spending millions of dollars to have sponsored ads that people will just scroll past without giving it a second thought. This is how big companies spread the word about their products. They use these sites to advertise what they have to offer. These companies choose ads that they think will most likely attract you as a buyer. Sometimes these companies really know their viewer and sometimes they are way off. My “advertising identity” and “real identity” have many similarities and differences.
Gautama Buddha once said that “Our thoughts are most important. All that we are is the result of our thoughts.” For most, many don't realize how powerful our thoughts are. I believe that our thoughts do create our reality and the things in it. Being in control of one's own destiny is everyone's wish, but everyday people let their circumstances define them and forget that they have the power to change their world. Even I sometimes get carried away and forget that I am truly in control of my reality. I know that because of our thoughts we create our destiny which is a reflection of our identity. One has to truly understand who they are to make conscious choices that can positively affect their life.
A person’s identity is what makes them who they are, each person’s identity is different to make them unique from everyone else. Social location divides society between dominant and non-dominate. For myself I classify myself as an able bodied white female born in a working class family in Canada who is raised by a single parent. When I look at that I still feel I am more, I am young and attractive but I didn’t include because it didn’t seem relevant. If I was to include it all it would be, young attractive white female credentialed, born in a working class family in Canada who was raise by a single parent. When I say it like that I feel it is more me, but then I being to think. Why am I thinking I’m attractive, what makes me attractive, should I have put that there? I’m average and I’m not unattractive, is there a happy medium that would help make both myself and the society happen.
Over the course of my life I have had many life experiences which have made me who I am today. When I was in my middle childhood, most of my life revolved around playing and having fun. I did not have to put forth effort in hardly any area of my life or work hard in order to achieve specific goals. As time went on however, my own life experiences began to have an effect on me, and shape the person I am today. My life started to change the most during middle childhood when I was around the age of seven years old. At this point in my life, I had to adjust to several big changes.
