My father suffered a massive heart attack and went into cardiac arrest when I first started college. It completely flipped by life upside down. I spent weeks at a time in the hospital with him. Before the age of eighteen, I had lived in three countries. My father’s career as a doctor and scientist of Military, Disaster & Extreme Medicine took my family throughout Kazakhstan, Russia, and the Ukraine. Although it was a challenge for me to continually adapt to new places and learn three languages, I am grateful for the cultural exposure that traveling provided me. In every new environment I was raised to treat others with equal respect and kindness regardless of any differences or similarities we may have had. This exposure has taught me that successful acclimation lies in the ability to interact well with people from diverse backgrounds. Here, in a country of immigrants, I have met people from countries all around the world. The Nursing field provides me the opportunity to help all people regardless of age, sex or ethnicity. I seek a Nursing degree here in the United States in order to increase my knowledge and to be able to practice in the field of professional nursing. My goal of becoming a Registered Nurse has long been encouraged by my personal interest in the profession and by my experience, previous education and achievements. These factors continue to motivate and inspire my desire to seek this degree and become a healthcare professional.

Anyways, three colleges in San Diego are San Diego State University, School of Nursing, and San Diego City college. An RN that is more experienced has the potential for raises or promotions than a new RN. Every RN is paid differently based on their experience/education. Therefore, RN's handle plenty of tasks and the majority of the registered nurses have a different education so each gets paid different amounts.

Desiring to aid others with the use of science and medicine, I am currently striving to obtain my Associate’s degree in nursing at Ivy Tech Community college to move towards my career/financial goals. However my educational journey will not end there, I will later transfer to IUPUI to receive my Bachelor’s degree in nursing and then move on to my goal of becoming a Nurse Practitioner, and hopefully dabble with medical research along the way. My career goals stem from high school when I entered a program known as Young Innovator’s Quest, a two-week program that allowed its participants to explore multiple facets of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and medicine) through the creation of their own research projects and interactive activities.

I’m positive there are many ways to move ourselves into a situation where we have more security in our lives. Although doing something different and trying new method is sometimes uncomfortably frightening for many people, if we stretch ourselves out from our comfort zone and willing to take risks to grow, there is always room for improvements. I don’t treat life like a competition I look at it and I ask myself how may I help? What may I do to make this world a more suitable place for all to live a comfortable and peaceful life? I yearn to come forward and fulfill my role and contribute to our society in any way possible. Nursing is my calling for helping others. It sounds cliché, this I know, but it’s what I desire and what I decided to do with my body, mind, and soul.
