“LIFE INFLUENCES” I. Introduction/ Thesis My mother impacts and influences my life, still to this day. Since early “childhood,” I have had a special bond with her. And, in my “teen” years, I can remember certain aspects of how she raised me. Even, in “adulthood,” she continues to be an inspiring influence in my life. Even though she will not be here forever, my memories and reflections of how much she has contributed to me, lives inside me, and will continue to impact and influence my life, forever. II. Childhood In my childhood, I spent a lot of time with my mother, and developed a special closeness with her, because of this. First, I was not an easy child to care for; therefore, it became necessary for her to spend a lot of time with me. I was constantly in trouble in grade school. She and I, were always in the principal’s office (along with a very angry and upset teacher). If I was not with my mother in school, I was with her almost constantly at home, as I needed extra attention from her, and to keep me out of harm’s way. Second, there were many different places, or doctor appointments, that she and I would go, together (I have always been very accident prone; therefore, many trips to hospital were made together). Also, while my siblings could be trusted to stay and play, I was always with my mother whenever she went anywhere, it seems. Third, a special bond was made between my mother and me, while we had these times together. I was always with her when she did the
In conclusion, my mom has influenced me by her creativeness, education, and support. Even though my mom isn’t the perfect mom, she has showed me so many positive things in my life. The most important thing is that my mom is there when I need her and she is always supporting my dreams. All I want is to make my mom proud, just how she made me proud when she accomplished her
From working several jobs at a time to make sure I had everything I needed, she became the reason why I was raised the way I raised. The lesson that “ I should treat everyone like the most important person in the world because I will never know when I might need them” was engraved in my head was owned by my mother. Sometimes she would tell me that she had holes in her socks and I knew it was due to most of her money going towards my private school tuition in order for me to be able to have the best education I could get. My mother is my background, my identity, interest, and talent. She is truly the one that has set me up for success, regardless of how fatigued or overworked she is. She is the person who truly defines who I am and who I have become to this
I grew up watching my mother strive to give me a better life and become a better person. Amongst great difficulty, she decided to finish school and attend university. Her hard work and determination have marked and defined my life. Every day she had to work, then go to university and later take care of me. She excelled in every aspect of her life, teaching me that the impossible is overcome through hard work and
Abraham Lincoln once stated, “All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe it to my mother.” Mother and child relationships vary greatly. Some mothers can have a very tight bond with their child, while others tend to be rather distant. The mother is responsible for caring for their child and helping the children grow. They should be able to guide their child down a good path, and not force them down a life that they do not want to do. This can be caused by many different reasons. In the book Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan Waverly has a distant relationship with her mother. The relationship between me and my mother is a complex bond that can not compare to any other mother and child relationship. My bond with my mother contrasts to other relationships
My mom is a very perceptive woman. She’s always had a way of explaining the world and the people within it. It came as a great shock to myself when I learned she was extroverted, as I had always known her to exhibit introverted mannerisms. I had assumed she would be the watchful and quiet one, but she’s usually the life of the party. That’s when I started to ask her about her life. She’s experienced enough things to warrant a jaded perspective of the world, yet she still holds some appreciation. I owe her much more than just giving her a mutual respect and completing my chores. I attribute my perspective on the world to my mom. My personality was shaped from her open mind and helped me find my passions in life. I’ve always had a strong sense of who I am, what I want to do in life. I know that I’ll always be welcomed back to her regardless of any mistakes I may
My mom has made a huge impact on my life, yet she may never know it. My mom does so much for me and my brothers that she usually doesn’t take time for herself. That impacts me a lot because it shows me what a hard-working woman looks like. She
There have been a vast number of lives that have touched mine. Many different people have shared a piece of their soul in my formation. However, it is my mother who is the most important and most influential person in my life. My mother raised me by herself since the day I was born. My father was abusive and she left to make a better life for the both of us. She has worked as many as four jobs at one time. My mother wants to make sure my brothers and I have a better life than she did. It hasn’t always been easy for her, taking care of us on her own, trying to pay bills and making sure we had everything we needed. My mom has always had us involved in sports at a very young age. We always were doing something or involved in something
My mother was a natural nurturer. When I was sick, she knew what to do to make me feel better. There was a time in my childhood, where I had to live with my aunt because I kept getting sick in the refugee camp. Living with my aunt was exceptionally hard for me because I kept missing my mother. At that age, I realized that although my mother was harsh, I had respect and love for her. Due to their use of attachment parenting methods, my parents had a strong network supporting them. The network involved my extended families and neighbors. Attachment parenting involves creating a “community of caregivers who share the parent’s values and will behave in the same way toward the baby when the parents are not there” (229). A case in point is when parents used to go out of town. They would leave my brothers and I home alone, because they were assured that our neighbors would take care of us. When we played outside and doing something risky, they would interfere and stop us. It was as if they were a papparazzi. Having eyes on us, but protecting us when the time was necessary. They disciplined us and gave us advise like my parents would. If we were doing something wrong and we saw an adult from our neighborhood, we would immediately stop, because we knew that our parents would hear about it or the neighbors would get involved themselves. I was okay being by myself when I was outside, because I always felt
The bond that is made between a parent and a child is one of the most powerful bonds that is created throughout a lifetime. The theme of parenthood has a close personal connection to my life, and also in many other people’s lives. The strong connection I have with my mother is one that I hold very near to my heart. Without the unconditional love and support I receive from her everyday, I would not be able to move forward into my future the way I plan to next year. I have made mistakes, and will continue to as I grow into an adult, but I am certain that my mother's love for me will never change. No matter how big the fight, I will never doubt her love and I believe many people can identify with that. The unconditional love of a parent that
For my discussion post, I choose the poem “My Son the Man”, composed by author Sharon Olds. In the poem the mother is reflecting on her son’s life. I believe that author Olds is having a difficult time coping with the fact, that her son is no longer “mommy’s little boy” anymore. Through this difficult time, she is reflecting on the physically changes and “mommy moments” that her and her son went through together. I can personally compare myself with this poem, with my mother and I. The statement “we have no control over time”, comes into play when dealing with moments in our life that fly by. Throughout my life, my mother and I have always shared a very close relationship with one another. About two years ago, we have become closer than ever.
Most people have impacted my life, but one person particularly has impacted my life greatly. My granddad was the person that has impacted my life ever since I was born. Even though my grandpa has been dead for 10 years going on 11 he still impacts my life daily. Since we had a close relationship I always knew when he is around even though he is gone. He would have inspired me in ways that most people never didn’t. I miss him plenty, but luckily his spirit is still with us no matter what happens.
In life, many things can be taken for granted - especially the things that mean the most to you. You just might not realize it until you've lost it all. As I walk down the road finishing up my teenage days, I slowly have been finding a better understanding of my mother. The kind of bond that mothers and daughters have is beyond hard to describe. It's probably the biggest rollercoaster ride of emotions that I'll ever have the chance to live through in my lifetime. But, for those of us who are lucky enough to survive the ride in one piece, it's an amazing learning experience that will influence your entire future.
The essay I will talk to you about the decision that impacted my life. We have all had to make the decisions in some part of the life. The decision I had to make with myself was the profession I went. The profession will deal greatly with the management field and created a interest when I was in the high school. I had already taken some courses that had dealt with the field that I am currently in. Now I had to gain knowledge about the business world and the daily operations of the field. I took the initiative of knowing this process to develop myself as a business person. People in the business field are looking for the right training to pursue the passion of opening up. I would also have to take part in the journey for doing this type of job. I have to know
Whether or not a person admits it, everyone on the planet has the desire to be remembered. They want to leave an impression on the people around them and leave those people with fond memories of who they were and what they did. For me, the idea of making an impact on someone’s life was my ultimate goal. However, it took me a while to discover how exactly that goal would be achieved.
My mother and I have always had a close bond in our relationship. When I was young, my mother was forced to raise me on her own, and during this time is when we developed a strong connection. Our relationship has never consisted of fighting, only the usual bickering that occurred during my teenage years. I have always reached out to my mother when I need advice, a shoulder to cry on, or am simply looking for a good laugh. Without I doubt, I consider my mother, my best friend because she continues to love me unconditionally despite the mistakes that I make. Together we are very open with each other and I value the fact that I tell her everything because I know this is something that is unique to a mother-daughter relationship.
