"Owen!" My mother yelled at me as I came down the stairs, as if I 'd done something seriously wrong. My mind raced as I tried to recall everything I had done in the past weeks. "Yes mother?" I replied when I reached the bottom of the stairway. She gave me that look mothers give their children when they have done something unapproved. "You said you would go play with your brother today." My mother was not on my side today, as she seldom ever was. She was already siding with Timmy, my precious 10 year-old little brother, and I had almost no chance of winning this battle. We decided to do something we could all enjoy that day, go fishing. Everyone can fish. I never considered fishing dangerous, until that day at least. We all packed our bags, grabbed our rods, and stopped off at the corner store to pick up some fresh bait. On our way down to the lake my brother talked the entire time. He talked about any and everything, how many stars there were, his favorite dinosaur, why the sky was blue. Once you got him started on a topic, you couldn’t get him off. "When are we going to be there? My arms are killing me. This rod and box is too heavy!" I was getting tired of listening to Timmy complain. I didn’t want to yell at him in front of my friends. Everyone knows doing that will probably cause my friends to side with my younger brother, even if he was the one in the wrong. I couldn 't take his complaining anymore, it was getting on my nerves. "Timmy! Please stop complaining, it’s the most annoying thing ever. I don 't want to listen to it anymore, you don’t see us complaining!" I couldn’t hold it in, it was too annoying and I 'm sure I just did us all a favor. Zachary and Jane were probably thanking me in their minds. When we arrived down at the river, Timmy didn’t do much but sit around and talk about things completely irrelevant to anything that was being said. "Ugh, I dropped my knife in the water."
