"Owen!" My mother yelled at me as I came down the stairs, as if I 'd done something seriously wrong. My mind raced as I tried to recall everything I had done in the past weeks. "Yes mother?" I replied when I reached the bottom of the stairway. She gave me that look mothers give their children when they have done something unapproved. "You said you would go play with your brother today." My mother was not on my side today, as she seldom ever was. She was already siding with Timmy, my precious 10 year-old little brother, and I had almost no chance of winning this battle. Then I thought of something! It was risky, but it could work. "Mother," I reminded her, "you know I have plans to hang out with Zachary and Jane today." I did have …show more content…
We decided to do something we could all enjoy that day, go fishing. Everyone can fish. I never considered fishing dangerous, until that day at least. We all packed our bags, grabbed our rods, and stopped off at the corner store to pick up some fresh bait. On our way down to the lake my brother talked the entire time. He talked about any and everything, how many stars there were, his favorite dinosaur, why the sky was blue. Once you got him started on a topic, you couldn’t get him off. "When are we going to be there? My arms are killing me. This rod and box is too heavy!" I was getting tired of listening to Timmy complain. I didn’t want to yell at him in front of my friends. Everyone knows doing that will probably cause my friends to side with my younger brother, even if he was the one in the wrong. I couldn 't take his complaining anymore, it was getting on my nerves. "Timmy! Please stop complaining, it’s the most annoying thing ever. I don 't want to listen to it anymore, you don’t see us complaining!" I couldn’t hold it in, it was too annoying and I 'm sure I just did us all a favor. Zachary and Jane were probably thanking me in their minds. When we arrived down at the river, Timmy didn’t do much but sit around and talk about things completely irrelevant to anything that was being said. "Ugh, I dropped my knife in the water." Zachary said but was cut off by my heroic brother
Vinny and his friends were going to the ravine where it was Vinny’s worse steps ever. His friends all jumped off of the ravine except for Vinny. He was facing peer pressure because his friends were going to make fun of him for not jumping. He was caring towards them even though he knew what they were going to say. He didn’t breathe for about 30 seconds when Starlene jumped in, and asked Mo,”Not you too”? When he jumped in.
“Lennie was in a panic. His face was contorted. She screamed then, and Lennie's other hand closed over her mouth and nose. "Please don't," he begged. "Oh! Please don't do that. George'll be mad." … "I don't want you to yell. You gonna get me in trouble jus' like George says you will. Now don't you do that." And she
Seven years earlier, I migrated to Hawaii when I was twenty-three. I had flown away from my mother and my life in the Philippines. Like young adults and being rebellious, I wanted to live on my own away from my mother 's roof. I left the city life I grew up with in the Philippines in hope of a better life in another country.
I was still up when my mother got home late that night. “Mom? Can we talk?” I asked.
Curly sat at the table, worried because he knew to never disrespect Tim. Sodapop took a fall backward, which caused a racket noise. Darry and Ponyboy came running into the room. “Ey, you dare to hit my kid-brother.” Darry swung a fist back at Tim while Ponyboy helped Soda up from the ground.
Lennie stopped chewing and swallowed. His face was very concentrated. He said “I… I ain’t gonna say a word he said.” He cannot remember, Lennie gets into a lot of trouble because of this. He even almost got George and himself fired on the first day because he talked when George told him not to. He got in a fight because George had told him to stay away from the trouble & he couldn’t. He got into a little scrap with the boss’ son Curley. Lennie did not fight back until George said to and even then he just caught his punch & that destroyed his hand.
“Mrs. Jacobson, can you please watch Matthias? There's something I need to do. It won't take long.”
Lucious at this time made it to school successfully and now was in class reading his book. Then, he heard a door open and he glanced up and saw that it was Timmy. Luscious always thought that he was a very spoiled kid and a jerk to all of his friends. He always would be talking about how he got this and that every week it seemed like. He was wondering if maybe he got to be more gracious after Thanksgiving. But by the looks of it, it doesn’t look like he
“Pleased to meet you both but, we must be on our way,” replied the mother.
I turned m to look at my mother and father. "Mom, dad, have you too talked to Chanel by any chance," I asked them.
“Yes, hang on,” I responded. I handed the phone to my mom. I was anxiously waiting for my mom to get off the phone with Tena.
“Do you want me to tell mom?,” I questioned. I didn’t really know what I was going to say to mom but it worked out.
The mother shakes her head once more before looking on to the road. It was quiet, for only a small amount of time.
Saturday, April 16th, is a day I will never forget. I woke up as if nothing had happened. It was a rainy day, but not hard rain, just a gloomy sprinkle but awfully humid. My brother, still filled with anger, stormed into the main room of the house, grabbed his keys and went out for the day. I was nervous for him because, my mother has always told us to never drive angry. Fast forward to 8:30 p.m. My mom and I had been invited to go
My friends cheerfully laugh as they start piling into Brett’s car. Today is my eighteenth birthday, and because now everyone in our friend group has hit this milestone, they decided that we should all go get tattoos. Brett wants and eagle on his arm, Jessica wants a butterfly on her back, and Ashley wants the word “Love” around her ankle. But as for me, I have absolutely no clue what I want.
