My vision for evangelism is denying self to serve and be reflection of Jesus as I minister and love others. I would like those attributes to be a part of my daily life and walk in the fruit of the Spirit so, that other people will feel the love of God. I have gained so much knowledge from this course that I can take what I have learned and apply it in my own life to become a better person and to help others. In my Christian walk, my vision is to look for ways to be a blessing to others and to make an impact in my family and community. Also, ministering the word of faith thereby, changing mindsets and lives. Therefore, to help equip the believer so that it will cause them to live according to the word of God. However, there are a few changes I feel that I need to make in my life to be more effective as
"Um, why does any of this matter to you." Disbelief swept over my mind, I couldn't believe the attitude. It was my first day as a mentor in success when I quickly realized this was not going to be an easy year. The girl that I was chosen to mentor became my biggest challenge. She refused to work, much less talk to me. Over time she began to open up, I soon found out what no one wants to hear, she did not have a very stable, content home life. Although it was difficult to keep her motivated with these struggles constantly in the back of her mind, I knew I had to be understanding. We worked together day after day, on her grades as well as her overall well being. The university motto, Ut Prosim - (That I May Serve) was the foundation of our learning
I hope to prove myself to be a good mentor for those who seek help and guidance. My leadership in my church played a large role in my life. I have led many activities for the religious youth group at St. John the Baptist, talent shows, fests, and lock-ins. I currently aid in some activities my school has to offer. I attend all class meetings, offer ideas to improve events, promote school activities, donate supplies to any events, decorate for dances and spirit weeks, do photography for the Science Olympiad team, and help my teachers in any way possible. As I participate in activities where I am the leader I make sure that I consult with my peers and listen to their ideas in hopes that we can come together to devise a plan of
I am a confident and respectful individual whom approaches life in a very enthusiastic and optimistic manner. I know I can give my time and service to the program in any beneficial way. I have traveled and connected with individuals from diverse backgrounds. I have ventured out and personally aided individuals from all parts of the United States from places such as North Carolina, Florida, New York, Texas, California, Arizona, and countries in Africa whether it be food and clothing donations or one-on-one volunteer interaction. I am typically willing to support my community by any means necessary. Whether it be that I wake up early to feed those less fortunate or it be that I mentor adolescences to further their academic careers. I know I can bring an encouraging and
For this project my mentor will be mrs. Lourdes, she used to babysit me when I was little. She lives in Mexico and I had lost her phone number, therefore I had to do some investigation before I could contact her, but it was worth it. Her husband died when her children were very little but she kept going and gave all her four children a career. She paid for all their school supplies and believe me it was not an easy task, and she was always characterized for having a smile on her face and her willingness to help others
I’ve never really thought of myself as having a mentor, I mean yeah I have my family, friends, and all of the people that care for me around me, but when I really think about it Terry would have to be my mentor. Terry has help me through so much! My track career and has made me a better thrower, and a better person. He always gives off a really good vibe and he treats all of his kids like one of his own, and as me coming in as a freshman it really helped not having one awkward moment in this track year because of Terry.
From the past year of joining the EY College Map Mentoring Program, I have learn numerous things about the program. I have learn to never give up in life, study skills, advice from my mentors. They have given me advice on Financial Aid, assist me to learn about scholarships and applying toward the next step of Education. Ey Mentors has help me so much in tutoring for tests, especially the Act and Sat. For my first time I had achieve a composite score of 18 and a 24 in reading. Which I really love. The mentors made learning educational and fun. I learn that I don’t have to stress about some things in life. I learn to work ahead of time and work on my Time-Management skills. I must make time in College for studying and having fun. It’s always
I called my mentor at 3pm to let him know I was on my way to his apartment. When I got to his place, he opened the door and welcomed me in. We talked about our week and decided to look at the list that we made together. The list has activities that he wants to do before we terminate our relationship. I read the list aloud reminding him that I’m reading some of the ideas we came up with together. When I was finished reading the list he said, “I wanted to make dinner together.” He already thawed the chicken legs in the refrigerator. I asked him what he wanted to make out of the chicken and he wanted hot wings and chicken broccoli rice. I found a recipe on the Internet for Buffalo wings. I started putting the chicken legs on a baking pan. My mentor
There are no preferences for me to work with children of a particular age group group and subject area because I am a well-rounded team player. Through volunteer work I've done with mentorship programs, I've gained much experience teaching children of all age groups many subjects including math, science, social studies, dance, poetry, drama, and creative
The biggest challenge for my mentor has been getting her students to engage in the activities and to reciprocate what they’ve learned so far. Her sped student is not getting the help he needs at home to further his education, which pushes him behind in class. He doesn’t do anything that she sends him home with because he has no one there to sit him down and do it. It is still a challenge because his mom refuses to get him help, so he’s not getting the attention he
My Mentor goes by the name of Alexandria. Alexandria is a long time friend of mines who have recently passed away. We meet through my best friend one day when i came over her house and she was sitting there. When i walked in she was looking at me a certain kind of way and i couldn't understand why. Alexandria and I were like two peas in a pod she was my everyday girl my number one supporter in everything i did in life.
As a recent new graduate I have had several different mentors through the process of obtaining my license. The one that stands out the most is one of my coworkers who I worked under during the new graduate residency program. This individual was not only my preceptor, but a mentor to me. She had qualities that I aspire to have as I grow as a nurse. She was a leader, loved to learn and teach, encouraged, and was very supportive. She is one of a few nurses that I can always turn to when I need assistance and she is always willing to teach and help.
The aim of this essay is to discuss on how the reflection on mentorship will be undertaken, how and why the model of reflection will be used and the importance of confidentiality. I will reflect the mentorship by ensuring that the mentee during clinical practice is put at ease throughout the learning experience of four weeks (Quinn, and Hughes 2007, p. 29). Also, I will use the principle of Kolb’s learning cycle as my model of reflection because reflecting is an essential element of learning. As I am the mentor, I will follow this cycle in a clockwise direction with Jude, so she would have to reflect on the skills learnt by reviewing the whole situation (Kolb’s learning cycle 1984 in Rose and Best 2005, p.129). This would enable Jude to
My future ministry is and always has been, the continued work of the Lord. To share His name and the great love that He has for all of His creations. That in my work I will be able to continue to do what God has given me the ability to do in the past. Share His name, bring more people to Him, pray for and help all of the lost find their way to salvation. Show those that have never known what the true love of Christ is all about and how to love them unconditionally through Christ. To continue to help those that are less fortunate. To feed those that are hungry. To give coats and blankets to those that are cold.
I believe that education; preparation and planning are keys to success. My vision is to apply those principles to my work ethic and applies my knowledge and skills to my professional performance. Therefore, better my workplace delivering excellence in results and stand out as a leader. I strongly believe that the most important part of a business is its people, and example is the best way to express an effective organizational culture.
