Struggling to open my eyes, I see a groggy image of my mom going around my room, turning off the lights, and putting my favorite blanket on. She sits on the edge of my bed and puts a comforting hand on my shoulder. "Go to sleep." she whispers, then gently steps out of my room, closing the door behind her. My mom does nothing but care for others. As a mom of four, she's got a lot on her plate. Yet that doesn't stop her from making me feel like the only person on Earth the matters. She's a nurse and makes all of her patients feel the same way. One of my favorite people to be around is my mother which is why she is my Michigan hero.
I can always come home after a long day of school and bury my face in my moms shoulder and caramel hair. She's always there for me and so understanding. If ever my grades are getting low, my mom will always be there and assist me in any way she can. And sense I tend to get frustrated easily, my mom is always ready to clam me down and seems to be one of the only people I can count on and rely on to understand me.

My brothers and I all love tennis and my mom would travel around the world and back just to watch us play. Many times she has gotten up early and driven for hours so she can be there to encourage us. Becoming so involved in our sports and our lives means the world to me. My mom is so thoughtful and is constantly giving up her own Saturdays so that my brothers and I are happy. If we wanted to have a beach day or go to our state park, my mom seems to gladly give in and spend one of her few days off doing what we want. I don't know anyone that would sacrifice so much for
My personal Michigan hero is a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and daughter. Her family is everything to her, and she has shown them to live life to the fullest, to follow God, and to be a role model. Moreover, hard work has never defeated her, and she has shown courage in all that she does. Not to mention, the love between us is like a sunny day, but shines even greater than the sun.
Some Michigan Heroes can be people that helped you in life or helped you succeed in life. My Michigan Hero is someone that raised me, taught me everything I know in life today. This person is my idol, that gave me a hand when I needed one, or told me to keep my head up and never look down. I wouldn’t know what to do in life if this person wasn’t in it.
Everyone has somebody they look up to, admire, and wanna be like. We all have our own hero. Mine is my brother Tyler. Tyler Shellenberger is an independent, young American. He’s 19 years old and attended Marshall Schools. Tyler is on his way to earning his GED. My Michigan Hero is my brother Tyler Shellenberger.
My Michigan hero is my grandpa.he has lived in Michigan for 60years and plans to keep living here. My grandpa is a very nice kind of person. He is also caring of everybody he knows. He is funny all the time makes me and my brother and sister laugh. Next he tells me I can build anything I put my mind to. Next he is very helpful with everything I build. He has helped me make birdhouse, animals banks and a gun cabinet. The main thing is the gun cabinet because he helped me plan it out and helped build it. Next he helped me pick out a stain color and helped with whatever he could to help finish it. These are just a few reasons why my grandpa is my Michigan hero.
Sometimes I wonder what is a hero, is it a person who can fly and do amazing tricks, or is it a modern day soldier who puts his or her life on the line to protect what they love, or could it be a hard working parent or grandparent that is always willing to do anything thing for the people that they care for. And I always come to the conclusion that a hero can be anything because it is the beholders opinion. My abuelo or grandpa was born in Mexico and moved to the United States of America when he was only twelve. His real name is Zenon Cardenas and his early life was not easy, he moved from place to place with his parents on their tremendously low income and sometimes they barely had enough money to get food. Later, he was old enough to get a job in which he chose to be a construction worker, and that is where he learned how to make buildings. After awhile, he eventually settled down in Ionia, Michigan and built the house where him and my abuela or grandma currently lives now. That is the spot that he had my mom and her six siblings.
My personal michigan hero would be my mom because she has always been here for me, through the think, and even the thin. I was adopted when I was 4 months old. She found out that she couldn’t carry a baby because of her severe scoliosis. So she waited for a long time to bring home her little bundle of joy. Even though I am adopted, we both have a lot of things in common. For instance, we have the same allergic reaction to mangos, we are both 4 foot 11 ½ inches and, we have the same golden brown hair.
My Michigan hero is not just a hero but is my grandma, she was always there for me through my ups and downs. Every day after school are used to go to her house, she would have Mack and cheese waiting for me on a little SpongeBob plate in front of the TV with SpongeBob on the TV. She was like my other half whenever I needed her the most she was there. She used to go shopping with me and my mom all the time and take us out for lunch. I alway imagined her being there with me all my life but that all changed. Just a couple years ago she had passed away and that was the hardest day of my life. I remember not wanting to go to her funeral because I couldn't stand seeing all the memories and pictures of us together. When I first walked into the room I just
My Michigan hero is my grandpa Jack. The reason my grandpa Jack is my Michigan hero is because he's kind, funny, and a kid at heart. We have always had fun times laughing till are stomach's hurt and there were tears running down are faces. When I think of the definition of hero I think of fun, loving, and caring. All the memories I have of my grandpa are all good there's to many to name but here's a few snowmobiling, sledding, and boating. That is why my grandpa Jack is and always will be my Michigan hero.
When you think of someone who would be a hero from your state, you would probably come up with a person who was an astronaut, sports player, an actor or somebody who has saved many lives. It may come to you as a shock when I tell you my personal Michigan hero is my older brother Jacob. Jacob is only 2 years older than me, but has gone through so much. He was diagnosed with Autism when he was two years old. He didn’t talk until he was 5 years old and has struggled and worked so hard to get where he is at today. Kids with autism are all different, but my brother Jacob is definitely one of a kind. He has a hard time saying the words he wants to say and at the same time loves talking. He is a Special Olympics athlete
Growing up my mom was the only parent in my household, so naturally we were a very close family. My mom took care of all of us. She always made sure my siblings and I had everything we needed in order to be successful. She cooked, clean, worked, etc., she really was a super mom. Whenever I had a problem with something or needed to talk to someone she was always there for me. My mom gave
Especially in cooking, she is always there helping and giving you the advice you need. I swear sometimes I feel like she needs to create her own cooking show. But she is also willing to speak her mind and let you know you're doing something wrong. If I didn’t have my mom I don’t know what I would do. My mom is my inspiration in life.
I consider my mother to be the most important person in my life because she has always been the rock in my family. She raised my two sisters and me to be independent, educated, and well-rounded individuals with little to no help from her family or my father. My mother learned at a young age that if you want something you must get up and find a way to achieve it for yourself. She worked two jobs to pay her way through college and always told my sisters and me that college was not an option, so she made sure we all
My mom is the first thing I am thankful for. Because she can cook all my favorite food. Including hamburgers or tacos or even fried chicken. My mom also helps me with my homework. She helps me with math and science. My mom is my 1# cheerleader. She always right there when I need her.
When you look at my family right now, you can see that everyone is separated from each other. My mom and sister live in the states, my other sister lives in the Philippines, and I live here on Saipan with my father. My mother is the kind of person that can voice her opinions, one that can speak to people, and someone who can find a way through any situation. These are some of the reasons I admire my mother deeply.
Besides being compassionate my mother is thoughtful. She stays at work late if someone needs help with theirs. She brings my grandmother dinner and runs errands for her. She is always putting others before herself. For instance, last year I began singing in the choir at Iowa State. It was really important to me because singing has always been a passion of mine. She drove to Ames for every single concert. It meant a lot to me to have her in the audience supporting me. This year I also started singing in the choir at my church. I was really excited and nervous about singing the first Sunday so few days before I was going to sing she gave me a beautiful necklace with a star pendant on it. I remember her warm hug and her telling me good luck and that I was ‘her star’. It touched me that she took time out of her busy schedule to encourage and support things that she knew were important to me. She could have just wished me well and enjoyed her few minutes of spare time, but instead she put me first.
