My Most Memorable Teachers For some reason or another certain students are drawn to particular teachers while other students are more fond of others. In my life I have studied under three memorable teachers. Teachers with which I was able to connect, to laugh, to share my misgivings. While I may have been close with each of these teachers, it is very clear, in retrospect, that each was very unique, and represented an entirely different class of teacher.
The teacher that stands out most in my head is my eleventh grade English teacher. She had a liberal arts background, and enjoyed the classic American writers; Hemingway, Steinbeck, what have you. She was in the class of teachers who was more impressed by actions and honesty

Her class of teachers take their jobs very seriously, and do not tolerate students who skip or disrupt their classes. These teachers are fun, because once you get them off on some irrelevant tangent, they will keep themselves going on it for entire class segments, trying to get out years of thought and consideration in just a short period of time. This is how I got to know my psychology teacher, because I was the one who kept her talking, so that the class could avoid taking the quiz that none of us had studied for. Teachers like her have the innate gift to educate and entertain, with their comprehensive lessons and subtle quirks.
Finally, I come to my high school horticulture teacher, whom I studied under for so many years that by the time I was a senior, we talked to each other on a first name basis. He belonged to a small class of teachers who are personally important to every young adult. This class of teacher is the buddy, the friend. The teacher with whom you can talk about anything, be it the trouble you have been having with your girlfriend, the high-potency marijuana that you smoked over the weekend, or just the dirty jokes you heard the day before. These are the teachers with whom you simply share interests, and thus, get along really well. Having a teacher like this is almost like having a counselor, someone older and wiser than yourself
During my life I have had several teachers with who I hold in high regard. Mr. Anthony Arico, Mr. Marty Berger, and Mrs. Edna Thomas to name a few. Even though all of the above named teachers had a very profound effect on my life; my all-time favorite teacher would be SSG Daniel Spencer retired. He was my ROTC instructor for approximately two years and has been a mentor throughout my adult life.
When teachers are monotone, rushing to get through the lesson, and giving off a vibe of not wanting to be there, it rubs off on the student. When the students can tell the teacher hates their job and doesn’t want to be there the student feels the same way. This makes students hate the class, the subject, and learning. If teachers give off a positive mood their student are more likely to have a positive mood towards them and want to learn. Posey always teaches with excitement, whether it’s about how to count a quarter note or teaching about Beethoven, she loves giving someone new information. Posey keeps the attention of the room when she speaks, making everyone happy to be there and ready to learn.
My second grade teacher Mrs. Balzer was one of my favorite teachers through elementary school. Everyday after school while I was in her class waiting on the bus she would say "Dillon would you like a cheese stick?" Though cheese sticks was not my favorite snack and I didn't want to sound rude so i would say "yes ma'am." Learning was starting to change through grades there were more books, more homework and more classes. Another favorite teacher of mine was Mr. Britton. He was always there helping me struggling on an assignment, and always asked me to go run papers to them office for him or go make
I believe the teacher that has the most impact on me was Mrs. Green. Mrs. Green taught public speaking and it was my hardest class. I had to push myself outside of my comfort zone and talk in front of a room full of people at least once a week. I hated talking in front of people. This class helped me to develop my ability to speak in front of people and become comfortable with who I am. I was not the kind of person who likes to have everyone watch me. For me to have 20 people actively listening to my ideas made me more than nervous, I was terrified of making mistakes. It was through this class that I learned that even if I made mistakes during my speech, the only one who knew that was me.
List three teachers who know you well. Tell us why these teachers stand out to you.
In my 12 years of being in school, I have had a lot of different experiences with many different teachers. Some good and some, unfortunately, bad. I have had many favorites and some teachers that I couldn't wait until I dint have their class again. One teacher that I am so Grateful to have had is my 7th grade geography teacher Mrs. Gribble. Mrs. Gribble inspired me to always go after what I wanted, do my best at all times, and live my life according to me.
As I was going through high school there were many teachers that were important to me, but there was one that stood out in my mind that truly influenced my life. Mr. Ron Edwards, my 9th grade American History teacher was the most influential teacher I have ever had throughout school. Mr. Edwards was very passionate about teaching and you could tell by the way he taught every single day. He talked loud so that you wouldn’t fall asleep in his class. It was very hard to fall asleep in his class because you never knew if he was going to pick on you that day to answer questions during his discussions. He always noticed how well I took notes and he let me know it throughout the trimester. I was the best note taker he had ever met. Knowing this fact
Lacy and Mrs. Moynihan. They are both at the top of my list for favorite teachers. One would teach on Monday, then the other on Tuesday, etc. but on Wednesday, one would teach in the morning then the other would come in after lunch and teach us. The year was definitely interesting. 4th grade was also the year I met my best friend, Lauren, I will always remember the first time she talked to me, and it wasn’t nice but it wasn’t necessarily mean either.
Looking back at my education, school wasn't as important to me as it should have been. My favorite teachers at the time were teachers who let me get by. Now that I'm mature and wiser, I now know that those types of teachers were not suitable teachers. The teachers that I ostracized were in fact the more suitable teachers and they only wanted the best for me. Of those suitable teachers there is only one who still has an impact on my life and her name is Mrs. Brantley. Mrs. Brantley is distinct from many other teachers. She is a teacher whose main and only focus is the success of her students.
Although I have had many different types of teachers, there are two that stick out more than any others. The first was my third and sixth grade teacher. She was the best teacher I ever had. The second was my seventh grade teacher. She was the worst I think a student could have had. Both, these teachers had very different teaching styles and very different out looks on teaching. To be an effective teacher the teacher must respect the student and be willing to go the extra mile to help the students learn all they can. In this paper, I will discuss the effectiveness of these two teachers and how their teaching styles differed.
In the 8th grade there were two teacher that gave me a good experience at Stanford Middle School. This time it wasn’t math it was english. My teacher name was Mrs.Rooney. She made up slangs and songs. I remembered one time we even acted out one of shakespeare's plays. It helped me understand it better than just reading it. We had debates about topics so we could understand it better. We read a book and we answer questions on it every few chapters. It actually made me read the book when I didn’t want to. She made me want to do a lot of things I never thought of doing. Another teacher was Mr. Faulkner he taught science. Even though the class was not easy he prepared us for high school. We did research papers. When we presented power points we
Everyone has had that one teacher who inspired them, and who made coming to school every day worthwhile. My teacher was my 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Eardly. She went above and beyond to be a good teacher to me, went out of her way to make sure I was taken care of, and inspired me to be a better person.
Choosing a favorite teacher is fairly difficult when one puts into account all the types of teachers they have known, all of them are important. Teachers are the second most important people in our lives, right after our parents. Teachers are persuasive and have the power to build a child up from an immature student to become a responsible adult; or they can completely and utterly crush a students hopes and dreams.
The teacher who has had the most impact on me was my English 101 teacher. After high school, I went straight to college and took English 101 as one of my first classes. I came from a very good school and was extremely confident in my writing abilities. I had a fixed mindset about my abilities but not in the traditional way. I was convinced that I couldn’t be better. After hammering out a paper in a couple of days, turning it in with pride then continuing on with daily life, I received my paper, with a C! I couldn’t believe it I never got C’s on my work, ever. I went through a lot of stages of denial. I thought it was a mistake, or maybe the teacher had a personal grudge against
My eleventh grade teacher was comparable to this teacher. She taught World History, which was far more difficult considering she had traveled around the world plenty of times and was entirely overqualified to be teaching at a high school. Nonetheless, her passion for the material encouraged me to put forth my best effort. My senior year was a blur; however, my government and economics teacher left a lasting impression on my future as an educator. Instead of telling us why it was so important to learn the
