My Mountains and my Valleys
My life has had a lots of lows and a lots of highs. It has been a story about being at the bottom and God being able to help me and put me in a better place. A verse that I think would describe my life would be Romans 12:2, it says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” I hope you learn something from this essay and enjoy it.
First off I would like to talk about something that has lingered in my life since I was a baby until just recently. My oldest brother, but my third oldest sibling, Blake is an alcoholic. This didn’t truly affect me until I was about eight years old and I started to realize why he wasn’t around. Until just recently he was in my life off and on, he was in and out of rehab and he never seemed to get a hold on something to make him stay sober. He had two kids along the road but even that did not keep him sober. I remember a time where our house was full and he had to stay in my room. I don’t remember much of this time but I remember him not coming home one night and my parents hid my money from him. I also remember always asking my parents how he was doing and one time I asked almost at the same exact time, my brother found him passed out on the porch, since then I never really asked about him because of that memory..
