The Templo Mayor was first constructed around 1325 and was eventually renovated and reconstructed six more times till the sixteenth century arrival of the Spanish conquistadors led by Hernan Cortes. One of the key features of the step-pyramid temple was the Coatepantli, or Wall of Serpents. Meant to separate the sacred temple from the outside world, the wall was made up of carved stone snakes that surrounded the whole temple. The main characteristics of the Templo Mayor were the two adoratorios, or shrines, for the Aztec gods Huitzilopochtli and Tlaloc. Huitzilopochtli was the main Aztec god of the sun and war while Tlaloc was the god of water and agriculture. Both of these shrines had steep, large staircases that led from the base of
Sweat drips off your chin and stings your eyes. The rough stone, now hot with friction body heat, has begun to mark calluses on the base of your palm. The other workers in the room around you work on columns of stone and bits of obsidian using various sizes of chisels or hammers and picks. Finally, the call for the end of the workday washes over the jade workshop followed by a cacophony of tools being put down. You give the column you’re working on three final, hard rubs, then stand back to admire your work. The face of a giant stone warrior stares back at you. Once you clean up and exit the building, you stop a moment to admire the gold and jade buildings of the city around you before you hurry home. So what were the ancient Toltec like?

Humans, like most animals, have the ability to perceive the world visually. One of the primary stimuli obtained from visual perception comes in the form of color. Color has been used since early times as a way to help survive in the natural world, but it also serves as a way to provide expression. Color can be so pronounced that it can reflect emotions, ideas, and even concepts from a human’s own mind. L. Frank Baum knew this very well and used color heavily in his book The Wizard of Oz in three major roles: providing imagery, symbolizing concepts, and creating emotions.
As we all know, color is the voice for the artist 's sentiment. It makes up the appearance of a picture. Color is the decisive factor in depths of the two-dimensional plane of the artwork, making the viewer feel physically and mentally attracted, or the context of things - the phenomenon the author wants to present. Colors have been around for a long time, but there is not a common definition for colors. And perhaps humans are one of the luckiest creatures that can identify colors. Often, the recipient 's eye knows a myriad of colors and colors that always change based on the relationship between light and perspective. In art, color creates a sense of

He also uses this to create a source to light to the whole area. All these put together creates a splendid, realistic and familiar atmosphere for the viewers to relate with.
Tim burton is very good at using color to establish a mood. As seen in many of his hit movies, color is a large part. Tim burton uses certain cinematic techniques such as color symbolism. For example, in “Alice in Wonderland”, you can see that Tim burton purposefully makes queen Iracebeth’s castle dark and red to show that she is angry or even dangerous while Tim Burton makes Mirana of Marmoreal’s castle white to show tranquil and goodness. Even the small things matter to Tim Burton. All colors are specially chosen because it would change the whole movie if he changed a white castle to a black castle. This technique can also be found in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” in the scene when they are riding on the boat down the chocolate river.
Color fills our world with beauty. We delight in the colors of a magnificent sunset and in the bright red and golden-yellow leaves of autumn. We are charmed by gorgeous flowering plants and the brilliantly colored arch of a rainbow. We also use color in various ways to add pleasure and interest to our lives. For example, many people choose the colors of their clothes carefully and decorate their homes with colors that create beautiful, restful, or exciting effects. By their selection and arrangement of colors, artists try to make their paintings more realistic or expressive.
Colours are more important than they are give credit for. A viewers eye quickly catches a bright colour against monotonous background than a blended in color. Its almost human psychology, you notice a man in a bright yellow shirt in a crowded street than a white or grey shirt that blends into the crowd. Use this to your advantage and follow the contrasting colours for best effect. The good thing about colours is that they deeply affect the mood of people. Yellow is believed to elevate people and make them merrier whereas red is believed to be exciting. Talk about manipulating people!
