One of my main educational and also career goals in the world of veterinary medicine and animal health care would have to be completing all necessary courses to obtain my Veterinary Assisting certificate and going to work at a vet clinic. Eventually, I may chose to go back to school to complete the rest of the courses needed to become a Veterinary Technician. I have always grown up around animals so I assume that is where my love and passion for helping animals came from. As a young child and still to this day, I have always found comfort, peace, and an increased amount of patience in being around animals. I have also always been intrigued by the idea of therapy/service animals. I see those animals being able to truly make an impact on their
The experience that initially sparked my interest towards veterinary medicine was when I attended Boiler Vet Camp at Purdue University during high school. Prior to camp, I thought veterinarians either worked on livestock or in small animal clinics. I was then exposed to the wide variety of veterinary career options in shelter medicine, research, and public health. I was also introduced to the challenges of getting into veterinary school. Being surrounded by people who shared the same interests as I did, motivated me to be more involved during college to see what all the profession offers.
This is an informational essay about how the veterinary profession came to be. Helping out on the family farms is an essential part of my life, and working with livestock and other animals has consistently been one of my biggest interests. This now has grown into my enjoyment and fascination with the sciences. Assisting a vet perform surgery on one of our cattle and continuing to observe other procedures take place on our farm has confirmed to me that following a profession working with animals is for me.
The practicality and variability associated with this profession will be intellectually challenging. However, I enjoy and am driven by challenging problems. Growing up, I noticed how our pets truly enhance our lives. They are an antidote for our loneliness, enrich our joys, and teach us about loyalty and love. Eventually, I became attracted towards medicine and animals. It wasn’t just because I’m interested in the health and welfare of animals, it was also able because I communicate well with people.

I used to tell my friends and teachers that I wanted to explore the medical field because that was what my family wanted me to do. They wanted me to become a doctor as it is a well praised profession that pays extremely well. As I grew older and entered middle school, I realized that becoming a doctor wasn’t something I was immensely interested in. Instead of a doctor, I wanted to become a veterinarian, treating animals instead of people. I’ve become aware of my passion for animals ever since I began having pets: from fish to hamsters to dogs. I decided to focus on animals when I first took one of my hamsters to a veterinarian. I thought that their profession was fun and interesting because it revolves around animals, something that I love and grown up with. Although studying veterinary sciences is difficult and competitive, becoming an animal doctor has been one of my greatest

My reason for pursuing the Animal Science Major is because I know that it is the first step in becoming a Veterinary Science Major. I have the desire and passion in becoming a Veterinary Surgeon and owning my own practice. By achieving those goals, I will have the utmost control and ability to make the decisions that can save the lives of my client's pets and livestock. I have always had an affinity for the calming and personal peace that pet ownership could bring. I believe that by becoming a veterinary surgeon I would possess the ability to aid the owners in making the choices that are beneficial both to the owner and to the wellbeing of the animal. There is what I like to think is very humane responsibility given to us
I remember when I was younger I wanted to become a veternation. I want to be a veterinarian because I love animals and helping them. As a little girl I always dreamed of helping animals. It is for these reasons I no longer have a desire to become a veterinarian. However, I still want to help others medically. I’ve decided to pursue a career in either nursing which deals with physical health, or psychology which deals with mental health. Although both registered nurses and psychologists work in similar environments, they differ in education and the

Numerous qualifications have contributed to my dream of studying veterinary medicine and succeeding in the professional world. At a young age, I consistently feared going to the doctor due to there always being some form of negative associations with it. From suffering from kidney problems to having pneumonia, I was constantly being tested on, taking various pills and doing breathing treatments that it sadly, became something that I loathed. At the age of four, I received my first Labrador retriever, along with it, my first experience of being exposed to the world of veterinary medicine. Veterinary Medicine is a career with endless opportunities. It is a constantly expanding field, with a diverse array of opportunities after graduation.
When Deja was around the age of ten, she would buy a lot of stuffed animals and act as if she was doing procedures on them for fun. She would often beg my mom, asking if she could go to the zoo, so she could see the animals and ask the caregiver’s questions about the animals and what they did to help them. Lauren Hughes once said “I am a veterinarian. I work long hours, my hair is often pulled back, I have student loans that you wouldn 't believe. I can 't take every sad case home, but at the end of the day, I love my clients, I love my patients, I love my job, because I 'm a veterinarian and I get to save lives.” The main reason I want to be a veterinarian is because I truly know I care for animals and have the patience to be able to deal with them and their owners in order to help cure them from whatever they have. Working long hours wouldn 't be a problem to me as well since I would be able to at least enjoy the majority of my time caring for the animals inside of the hospital. I feel this career has an impact on the owners and the pets. A majority of people who own pets, see them as a companion or a part of their family than just a pet, so to me, it is very important that I can assist them with their pets in order to keep the relationships between animals and their owners connected. The Duties for working in this field would be that you have to be able to provide medical care to for animals, mostly pets, but on other occasions, it can be a zoo animal, livestock or
