Growing my passion
Hope you are well. My name is Mitchell, I fell in love with cooking and baking when I was a small girl. My mother was an excellent cook, her food was exemptio0nal and everybody who visited our home used to give her very good remarks about the food. Our neighbors used to seek her services to bake for them cakes for different occasional. Her cookies were very good and my friends used to visit my home just to get a cookie from her. She taught most of the things I know about cooking and I believe I learned from the best. I thank her for introducing me to cooking and baking.
When I went to high school my passion for cooking was still strong, I started baking birthday cakes for my friends and

You should start by reading your recipe carefully and understand it. Make sure you have all the ingredients needed to bake the cookie. The most important thing in baking is care and accuracy is a must for the cookie to be perfect. Your cooking tools should be good and use standard measuring spoons and cups. The pan should be the correct size, and then prepare it as instructed in the recipe. Your ingredients should be top quality, fresh and set according to the recipe. If the recipe states that an ingredient should be at room temperature, make sure it is that way. Baking powder can be tested for potency by adding it to hot water; it should bubble if it is good. Mix baking powder to the flour before adding the other wet ingredients to ensure even distribution of the powder. All ingredients should be at room temperature for perfect cookies unless the recipe states otherwise. Measure your ingredients carefully by use of measuring cups or spoons. The oven should be preheated for about 10 or 15mins before starting to bake the cookies. The temperature of the oven should be exactly as stated in the recipe because too hot or too cold oven will disrupt the cooking time and damage the texture and appearance of your
Ever since I was little, I enjoyed being in the kitchen with my mom, dad and other family members. As long as I can remember, I was always there, trying to help out in whatever I could and what my family members would let me. When I was eight, I baked my first batch of chocolate chip cookies and ever since then I developed a passion and dedication for baking that has helped to teach many
While the over is preheating, grab a bowl and whisk together the flour and baking powder or baking soda. In a separate bowl, combine the butter and both of the sugars; use an electric mixer at a medium speed until your batter becomes light and fluffy. When batter is at this point you can now reduce the speed of the electric mixer to low, and add the salt, vanilla, and eggs. Beat these ingredients together until they are well combined. Now it is time to combine your two bowls together. After both of your bowls are combined you can add any additional ingredients, like the chocolate chips. After you have stirred everything together and created your dough, place tablespoon-sized balls of the dough on a baking sheet, these need to be at least two inches apart from one another. When your oven is preheated, place the baking sheet inside, but make not to burn yourself! Bake the cookies for about 12 to 15 minutes. When the cookies are baked to your desire, remove the pan from oven and let the cookies sit for 4 to 5 minutes. After the cookies have cooled down a bit, transfer them to a wire rack or a plate so they can cool completely. Once cooled it is time to serve and enjoy your delicious chocolate chip cookies.
In my spare time all I do is bake. My love of baking started when my grandmother taught me the art of baking. First she showed me how to make fudge brownies. To make sure not to move mix the batter, also how to make chocolate frosting. After that day I was in love. One of my favorite memories was on Thanksgiving. My Mom decided to host the dinner, we had the whole family come over grandparents, cousins, uncles and aunts. Of course I was in charge of desserts. I decided to made homemade apple and pumpkin pies. I worked the whole night before making the pie dough, peeling and cutting the apples. I putted my heart and souls into those pies and all the hard work payed off, my family loved them. After that no matter what day I would find a excuse to bake. Last year i was entered into a baking competition where I had to create a recipe. I didn't know if I should make a cookie or a cake. Then my mom suggested I do a cookie inside of a cake. So for my dessert I created a chocolate chip cookie inside a chocolate cupcake with vanilla buttercream frosting. All the other participants had every simple recipes such as vanilla cupcakes and cookies. As soon as i saw this I knew that i had a chance of winning. I won first place. This competition was one of the hardest but the most fulfilling things I have ever had to
I was only ten years old the first time I tried to make myself a pancake, but that was the day my love of cooking began. I became one of those kids who would tear recipes out of Better Homes and Holiday Baking and became pathologically addicted to watching the Food Network. Over the course of time, my cooking began to improve, and I was eventually

Cooking is great, I find it therapeutic. Many of the receipts I cook are usually featured on the food network. I follow the recipes on the website and I watch the chef prepare it .I’m a visual learners so it helps watching someone go step by step. I also go to YouTube to learn new recipes. I was always passed down a cook book from my grandmother which I look at as well.
When I was in middle school, I tried few times to make fried rice and pancakes. However, without the tools and proper instructions, it was not successful. We did not have a big oven in our kitchen, so I was not able to bake. When we moved to the Unites States, we found that the apartment we rent has a big oven. My mom started buying bakeware and baking tools for me, which is when I “officially” started cooking and baking. Some people feel cooking is boring or tedious, but for me it is fun and very interesting. I enjoy the cooking process. I can spend all days in the kitchen with my “toys” rather than playing outside. I always
I was raised up believing in the importance of service and community as I saw my family members and neighbors selflessly help and be in community with people in need. It is therefore no surprise that I discovered my passion for service and volunteerism while still young. In my hometown Nairobi, Kenya, I did community service through various ways, including my involvement in the charity walk for Street Children and Orphans in Kenya in 2003 and the 2007 Brookside Freedom from Hunger Campaign. I participated in the charity walk for these causes and helped raise money to support street children, orphans, ending hunger, and was recognized as one of the top three people to raise the most funds. In high school, I volunteered at the St. Nicholas Children's home in Kenya, where I served, played, and was in solidarity with the children. In 2013, I earned the President’s Bronze Standard award given to me by Honorable Mwai Kibaki, the third president of Kenya for being a young person equipped with positive life skills and a change maker in my community, country, and globally.
Culinary art is a momentous part of my life. When I was around the age of nine I was living with both my mom and dad. I was always in the kitchen helping my mom cook dinner. I made baked ziti, empanadas, sweet potato pie, and other foods. When I was in high school, I lived with my father, and after my older siblings grew up it was just me and my little sister so I was responsible for cooking the meals. I was cooking for my family an average of seven days a week and I was never tired or bored, I enjoyed it. I developed a strong passion for culinary arts. I am passionate about it because it excites me, inspires me, and encourages me to open a restaurant.
I’ve always had a passion for cooking. When I was a little girl I loved to cook and enjoyed learning about all sort of cuisines. Today, I am still in the kitchen and every chance I get, I cook. Some days it isn’t even fancy or a hard recipe. Some days it’s a classic, but something that I’ve created. Cooking is my time to be me. It’s the “art form” I pride myself at being good at and I don’t have to try (unlike drawing…not so good at that!). Like a child getting a new toy, I get excited when I discover new foods and ingredients. My mind feels “at home” when it’s in the process of creating in the kitchen. It’s fun getting the ingredients, piling them all on the counter, then chopping, stirring, adding a pinch of this and a splash of that. Then I have to wait for everything to cook. Finally the reward of my creativity is taken out of the oven and placed on a plate. The creative work I’ve done is fully realized when I can share my work with others.
Almost all little girls start their primary schooling years wanting to play school and wanting to learn. At home they act like they are teaching their own classroom and leading their group of students in front of them (most likely a stuffed animal), but their imagination, creativity, and eagerness to learn is at the peak when they begin their first day of school. Ever since that day I still want to be an educator and to make a difference in this field for the better. I have always found that the most intriguing thing for me in life is conveying knowledge and skills onto other people and watching in their eyes when the switch finally clicks that they understand what I have been trying to teach them. Knowing that the impact you made for just that short amount of time in that child’s life may never be forgotten.
