The position of honors is a much valued and highly respected position in which only a select few are chosen for its place. I myself believe that I am a suitable candidate for such a position given the type of person that I am as well as my personal experiences through business.
If I were to view myself, I would say that I am more personable than I am aggressive or assertive. I am not afraid to seek out other people and interact for different circumstances. I understand that being aggressive (straightforward) is also important in business; however, I work more towards the ability to seek out multiple ways rather than facing a single path head on without looking at other possible solutions. I see being personable as more of a fundamental

The chance of death lurked around every corner. Managing your time was essential to survival. And accidents or other unfortunate events could happen at almost any time. A single death meant game over and a restart back from the beginning. Yet I saw this simulation as something more along the lines of a puzzle. By the first day, I had quickly learned the different necessities as well as how to work quickly and efficiently. In only 1 hour I had already made $30,000, but that wasn’t enough. In order for me to earn $100,000 I would have to look for even more efficient ways to earn money, manage my time, and survive easier. I kept doing this day after day, and by the end of the 5th day I had far exceeded the goal of $50,000 as well as my own personal goal of $100,000. I had earned more than $200,000 while the rest of my class had managed to collect the required $50,000. Through this simulation I was able to work efficiently as well as quickly increase my pace to exceed the required goal as well as my own. Along with what kind of person I am, I believe I have much more experience I can offer to the honors department of business. From a young age, I had always been interested in business. My dad, being a businessman himself, would sit me down in front of his work and teach me little by little about business. He taught me about the stock market, supply and demand, the business world, and the ethics of business. My first interests began with the stock market
Through playing this simulation, I was taken aback on lifestyle, the stress I got from just playing this game, and the realization that people have to live through this. In my opinion, if a person works a 40+ hour week they should be able to make enough money to live. It was astounding to me how many decisions where thrown at me and even worse was that they were all plausible. From the car breaking down, child getting sick, food, responsibilities to the work, and not to mention any other financial responsibly. It came to point where all the decisions were financial dependent and my eyes would dart to see how much was in my balance and the thing that gets me, is that even though I didn’t go to a concert with my friends, got the lowest insurance
With given a choice of what to write this paper, I could not get past the subtle nature of who we are as God’s creations. This fundamental truth of our identity is simplified with the truth of our identity in Jesus. We are created in God’s image with a purpose here on earth to display all of God’s greatness, His beauty, and to reveal all of His character aspects. Best of all, we are completely dependent on God. This new enlightenment of my identity in Christ as God’s creation will allow me to help people around the world become one with Christ by revealing the truth of their identity.
It is an honor to be chosen as a candidate for membership in the National Honor Society. Academics, leadership skills, service abilities, and character are four principal parts of a superior student. I believe that I am inclusive of all these aspects needed to become a part of this prestigious group. Becoming a member of this organization is important to me, because it will help me get into an excellent college and push me to work harder in school.
As a freshman at the University of Maryland, I am pursuing a Masters degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Cyber Security. I formerly attended the Academy of Health Sciences at Prince George’s Community College, a dual enrollment program in which I graduated with my High school diploma and an Associates of Arts degree in General Studies. Having a unique experience by attending these different school has allowed me to become familiar with technical communication in a multitude of ways, whether it is in the work place or school related. Being vice president of the national honor society, being a barista at Peet’s coffee shop, and with being fluent in multiple languages I have used technical communication to encourage people to “take action” in a multitude of ways. Whether it was influencing people to join the national honors society or trying to get customers to buy a new coffee drink, I have consistently been able to encourage others to “take action” with whatever it may be. Over time I have learned the do’s and don’ts of being a technical communicator, and I now understand what must be done to accomplish a task through technical communication.
It has been said, "I would rather die standing than live on my knees!" (Emiliano Zapata). All things are possible to a person who stands on the foundation of honor. The definition of honor is a high regard or respect; personal integrity; reputation; privilege (Webster’s Dictionary). The word honor comes from Latin Honos. Honor shapes lives everyday, and provides the glue that holds a family, community and country together.
I am pleased and honored to have the opportunity to forego with the process of becoming a National Honor Society member. The National Honor Society’s main goal is be involved and to better the community in various ways. For example, the organization works to serve the community, tutor students, and be leaders within the school. The members put their self interests aside and work to better the lives of everyday people in their community. I believe I am ready to join and help with the endless opportunities that the National Honor Society has to offer. Becoming a member of NHS has been a goal of mine since I entered the halls of Brick Township High School. I fully understand that it takes hard work and dedication in order to become a member but I know that I greatly exhibit those traits not only in school but also in my outside activities. This is a rare opportunity that can only happen in high school and I know that I am ready to be apart of something special.
The National Honors Society boasts of members with significant academic accomplishments, selfless hours of community service, and strong leadership capabilities as a representative of the school’s excellence. Becoming a member of the National Honors Society is a prestigious honor. As a student, I strive for excellence in my academics and have made the honor roll every quarter, showing my aim and dedication to reaching my highest potential. I try not to compete with other students, but with myself. My academics are the result of my hard work, and my dedication towards grades correlates to the dedication I have towards becoming a leader and a role model for the community.
I believe that I would be an asset to National Honors Society due to the many characteristics I portray daily. Growing up I’ve always been taught to be honest, diligent and dedicated to every aspects of my life; whether it be academics, extracurricular activities, or hobbies. I am a natural leader, yet I am very open to collaboration. I stay prompt and organized in all of my pursuits. I strive to be the trustworthy person whom others aspire to be.
Being considered for a membership into the National Honors Society is an honor. I have been recognized for my academic achievements as well as my character. I have observed the acts performed by the the NHS members in our community and I believe I can make a difference along with them. I like to think I have work hard in my academics and building character. I knew my hard work would present me with wonderful opportunities throughout life. The opportunity has arrived to join a society for the best of the best, to stand above all else in service, leadership and character. It is an honor to be considered to be a part of the National Honors Society.
Love. The feeling of affection towards someone or something. In my life, I have loved many things but my love for learning and exploring the unknown has remained unparalleled. TCNJ’s Honors Program will allow me to further foster this love of mine and expand it to even greater horizons.
As I pursue my second bachelor’s degree in mathematics, I remind myself that a well-rounded education is made by coupling different subjects like science and mathematics with the arts and humanities. Having a good grasp on different academics is a good balancing tool to create a whole bodied education as well as good preparation for higher learning and career progression. I find that a great way to maintain a high standard of education is to partake in an honors program because it demands much more than its regular counterparts which in turn offers a greater reward of understanding. I want to use IUE Honors Program to help me develop better critical thinking skills necessary for making important decisions when the time arises. Rather it be the additional course load or supplemental instructions offered by honors courses, I plan to use this program to help me map out different insights into problem solving.
To be an honors student it means you are responsible and respectful. A honors student should be ready to take a task and fulfil it to the best of their ability. It means they are ready to challenge yourself with complex tasks and complete them responsibly while going above and beyond.
Today I am writing from a place of concern, I am very fearful for my future and in fact my life. I have been in your courtroom undergoing pretrial investigations and other court proceedings since 2015. I have been very respectful of the court and the courts authority. In doing so I have been present in court in a timely and respectable manner, I have also provided any adequate information surrounding any reasons for me needing to miss a court date.
In the next five years i will be a outgoing and caring person willing to stand up for someone. As a tiger I am fearless of what the future brings and are willing to fight for what's right. I want to be calm, social and vibrant in color like the rain forests. I want to be fearless because I don't want to be afraid to stand up for myself or other people. I want to be trustworthy because i want to be more honest to my friends and family. I want to be outgoing because i want to be able to be myself and make new friends without hesitation.I want to act calm and just take it step by step and go slow so i don't overwhelm myself.
If someone asked me where I am going to be in ten years, this would be my answer. I will have a great, high-paying job, and beautiful wife and family, and a nice sports car parked in front of my lovely house. When I look into the future, I see myself being successful and happy. Even though I always pictured myself this way, I never worried too much about how I would get there. I feel the Suffolk University can lay the groundwork for making these dreams into reality.
