The purpose of this paper is to discuss the results of my personality test on 16Personalities.com. The following paper describes the results of my test, as well as what I learned from the detailed reports of my personality type INFJ-T (Introverted Intuitive Feeling Judging-Turbulent). In her article, Rajagopal states that, “the type indicator provides self-confirming insights and helps make patterning of human behavior understandable and acceptable” (2008). My personality test taught me not only about my personality, but also about my values, attitude, motivation, and decisions. I also learned several things relating to my ability to work with others. The tests helped me learn more about my strengths and weaknesses, and it also helped me …show more content…
The personality code INFJ-T describes my communication skills almost perfectly. I’ve always been prone to keeping to myself, and especially keeping my ideas to myself. INFJ-T’s tend to be extremely private and sensitive individuals. The PowerPoint for week five states that “if leaders don’t provide a clear rationale for decisions, employees can feel confusion,” so I know this is an area that I really need to work on (Organizational Communication). One area of my life that attests to this is my inability to speak publically. Whether it be overwhelming emotion or fright, I have always had a difficult time communicating with large groups of people. With that being said, I do not believe that this has greatly taken away from my leadership abilities. While INFJ-T’s are normally considered perfectionists, they have a strong level of passion for the work that they do. This has always been the case for me, and my passion allows me to lead with a determined attitude. However, when conflict arises in my work center, I rarely have the capacity to deal with it and I often end up passing the torch off to someone else. As I read from my results, I am not alone when it comes to my conflict resolution …show more content…
This are allowed me to reassess and identify strengths and weaknesses that I may or may not have. The strengths listed under INFJ-T are Creative, Insightful, Inspiring and Convincing, Decisive, Determined and Passionate, and Altruistic (AnonymousAdvocate). Of these strengths, I can personally identify with two at most. Knowing these strengths allows me to utilize them more thoroughly. For example, I have always been decisive, but I never considered it a strength. Knowing that I have decisiveness as a strength encourages me to want to go forward with my ideas so that I can have a larger impact on my organization. It is also very important for me to be aware of my weaknesses. One of the weaknesses that I identify with is need to always have a cause. 16 Personalities states that “INFJs get so caught up in the passion of their pursuits that any of the cumbersome administrative or maintenance work that comes between them and the ideal they see on the horizon is deeply unwelcome” (AnonymousAdvocate). Knowing this weakness will help me to understand that whether or not a task has an end goal it was probably assigned to me for good
While it is very surprising that answering a few multiple choice questions can reveal things unknown to the taker, the 16 Personalities quiz has my number for sure, especially when describing my faults. The test revealed, for instance, people with my type (the Logician) can be insensitive and condescending. I am sure that this is a “complete shock” to everyone who has ever met me. This test said that Logicians have immense difficulty with emotions, to the point where “Emotional situations can be utterly bewildering to Logicians, and their lack of timely sympathy can easily offend others.” There are several times where I can have problems dealing with other people’s emotions, and I wind up thoroughly confused. Insensitivity makes it very hard
Conflict is inescapable, having the ability to recognize, understand, and resolve conflicts are important in both personal and professional lives. Myatt (2012) states that conflict in the workplace is unavoidable; if left unresolved, workplace conflict may result in loss of productivity and the creation of barriers that can inhibit creativity, cooperation, and collaboration. It is vital to embrace conflict and address problems through effective conflict-resolution tactics because if not handled appropriately, conflict will escalate. “If not handled properly, conflict may significantly affect employee morale, increase turnover, and even result in litigation, ultimately affecting the overall well-being of

This paper exposes and explores the personality type Introverted, iNtuitive, Feeling and Judging (INFJ) in the workplace and how it closely relates to the results acquired from the C.J. Jung and Myers-Briggs personality tests taken on websites. Examination of Kroeger, Thuesen and Rutledge’s (2002) research proposes that people should try to understand the personalities that make up a business environment rather than focusing on etiquette or a right way to be. Typewatching promotes a consciousness to assist business leadership effectively make impactful workplace decisions. Having an understanding of the how people operate in the workforce can have a major impact on how business leadership manages personnel. This paper will place a microscope
Companies have started to use personality tests in the past five years so that they can find a potential employee’s strengths and weaknesses. If questions and answers are quite accurate and test is done properly it can help an employer to find more about person’s advantages and disadvantages. It is very important to know because one of the most important points is that most of personality tests help to recognize unqualified candidates. “Although experts warn that many personality assessments don't deliver what they promise, legitimate scientifically validated tests are helping employers evaluate job candidates to select those best suited for particular positions. Other tests are designed to measure intelligence, honesty, management aptitude and other qualities.”
Who knew the 16 Personalities Test would know my two of my biggest strengths which are being extremely creative and having dedication. I also learned that sometimes these good traits could get the better of me and hurt me if I go to far with them. Being a Mediator from the 16 personalities test I “combine their visionary nature with their open-mindedness to allow them to see things from unconventional perspectives.” They have a big imagination and are very creative also because of this many Mediators are poets and/or authors. Because I am very creative, it is not as hard for me to think of something extraordinary as much as it would be for other people. For example in my history class we had to write a story about Mr. LaFramboise’s past with
This paper discusses personality type of the ISFJ that was recently resulted in a Jung Typology personality test taken by Andresa Frederick. Through her research and opinion, Ms. Frederick describes each letter within her type as well as discusses the validity of personality through personal and work examples. She also discusses how Personality Typing can empower her to become a well rounded and accomplished employee at her current position at the Department of Defense.
According to the Jung Personality Test, my personality type would be referred to as INFJ. This stands for Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling and Judging. There are many different types of personality types; however, INFJ is noted to be the rarest of them all. While all of us can have certain traits of all letters, for example, an individual who is an introvert can also have some extrovert tendencies, this personality tests gives us an accurate assessment of our most pronounced traits. Each letter stands for a different aspect of my personality such as how we deal with others, how we gather information and make decisions, and our attitude towards others. A better understanding of a person’s personality type will help that person analyze his/her own behavior, but also recognize possible weaknesses associated with that personality. Recognizing personality weaknesses is the key to becoming a better person, friend, co-worker, and manager. Very good
On August 25, 2016, I Darlene Bostick took the Similar Minds Words Choice Test. The test consists of twenty-four pairs of words, use to show the aspect of ones; character. Base on the results from the Similar Minds Inventory, my personality type is "ISFJ (A Conservator)." The Acronym for ISFJ is Introverted, Sensing, Feeling, and Judging. ISFJs are characterized as the desire to serve others (Retrieved from http://www.similarminds.com). In this section, I will discuss the functional analysis of Introverted, Sensing, Feeling, and Judging. The First criterion is “Introverted”. We are introverted when we avoid large crowds of individuals, think about our needs and wants, and rather time alone (Retrieved from http://humanmetrics.com/personality/isfj). The “Sensing” preference refers to the attribute that allows us to detect a certain feeling of prediction or behavior based on what triggers the inner mind. We gather data through our five senses (Retrieved from http://www.personalitypage.com/four-prefs.html). Third is “Feeling”. This third preference is the capacity to make decisions based on thinking and feeling (Retrieved from
In resolving conflict, ask the question, “How do we keep this from happening again?” The first thing is to be objective. This helps in managing conflict by keeping team members focused on the problem at hand (Huber, 2007)
After taking the personality tests for general psychology in Lab 2, I am both intrigued and surprised by my results. Prior to this class, I have taken other personality profile tests due to my fascination with the way the human mind works. I have found that understanding my own personality, as well as the personalities of others helps immensely when trying to interact and relate to the people closest to us. Before I began this summary, I needed to know more about the determination of me being an ESFJ. Initially, I did not agree with the findings of this particular test. I have the capability of being extroverted, but tend to be more introverted than I was aware of when I was younger. This was a very interesting activity. I learned some
As humans beings we are always interested to understanding what makes us perform the way we do in our daily lives. The Meyers-Briggs personality type test gives us a glimpse into ourselves. This paper will discuss the different aspects of my personality profile of ENTJ (Extravert, iNtuitive, Thinking, Judging), plus the characteristics and validity of each personality type and its temperament; in my case is NT “The Rationals”, who love knowledge, ENTJ - "The Fieldmarshals". It will also discuss the strengths and how to utilize the weakness so they become strengths and can become part of my balanced life when dealing with peers, employees and management on an individual and group level. Needs work
The Myers-Briggs personality test was created in 1944 to help women in WWII find jobs that were best suited for them, based on their personality type. As I have been getting closer to graduating high school and entering the real world, I too have been looking for a career that I will love so much, I will be stoked to wake up every morning to go to work. After taking the Myers-Briggs, and doing some deep self-reflection, I have found some consistencies in what I am interested in and how that reflects on my character. Three of my most defining character traits align with my INFP personality type and explain why I am interested in certain career paths. These character traits are principles, passion, and selflessness.
I Vanessa Simones would like to share with you my personal, personality survey results. The first survey 16personalities concluded that my personality type was “The Campaigner” (ENFP-T). “The campaigner is one of the diplomats personality groups. The basic concept of “The Campaigner” is Enthusiastic; creative and sociable free spirits, who can always find a reason to smile.
