3. A person’s ideology is influenced by their socialisation, mine was heavily influenced by my family.
Self-Evaluation A lot of factor influences a person’s political views. A person is influenced by a lot of things that make them able to take the political stance at a point of life. As an individual, he walks through the pace of long life to understand the values and beliefs that
Conor Samuels 9 March 2010 Professor Simon PSC 101 Political Autobiography In my life I have never had any political enforcement or strict religious influence. My parents were very lenient when it came too political preaching. I was taught to be a caring and respectful individual. My political understanding and beliefs have been molded from my early political memories and socialization experiences. As a young adult I have always strived to become knowledgeable about political ideals mainly because I was never really taught to believe in something specific. I eventually was drawn towards many different social and political perspectives, which is how I came to a logical conclusion of how I view the world politically
I have not had much interest in politics until recently. Before last year, I did not care for anything related to politics; I thought that it was all boring and had little to no affect on me on a personal level. I am more interested in politics nowadays. I know better now that it does affect me and I should care about it. I had learned about the concepts of political socialization, party identification, political tolerance, political trust, political efficacy in government class and how they affect my political beliefs. My personal political belief has been shaped into what it is today and is still being shaped because of those six concepts.
The main place where I have received my political socialization from is from my family. This is logical because I have been with my family since I was born so I was bound to pick up a lot of there beliefs as the years went by. My family
A population’s views on political issues may change as different circumstances occur each day. The environment around us has a powerful influence on the decisions that we produce and the views that we as American citizens choose to hold. After a semester in political science class my views and my political ideology have altered. Today I will explain how political science class has influenced my political ideology.
The United States of America was not always the well structured superpower it is today. After the colonists decided to break away from Great Britain and fight for independence; no one knew how difficult it would be to create a new governing structure, the newly independent colonists knew that they
“Are you serious? What are you talking about you 're a Republican?” Throughout the four years of high school, I embraced my right to freedom of speech and expressed my opinion politically. My friends questioned my political stance and couldn’t understand how I came to my beliefs. Some of
I think what has also contributed to my political views is that I have a stay at home dad, doctor mom, and Sudanese family members.
Pre Reflection/Position My understanding of politics and government prior to taking American Government came from my family and their beliefs. It was influenced by the schools I attended, which influenced my respect for this country, and my respect for our flag. They ingrained a sense of patriotism with their teachings. Television and newspapers had a big influence on me in my younger
Just like normal people, I have many lenses that I see through every day. Some of these lenses are the fact that I am a politically conservative, white, male, who is not religious. This has caused me to see the world has a more kind, opportunistic place, than someone who is of another race, who maybe has faced some discrimination in their life. Being conservative causes me to take priority to certain issues than a liberal person normally would. For instance, I feel that defense of yourself and the country is a much bigger deal than a liberal who feels the military is over funded.
Throughout my life, my beliefs, values, and opinions have been shaped by both my life experiences and those close to me. 18 years is a long period of time, I’ve watched many commercials, watching the presidential campaigns change over the years. Nowadays, it’s become more vibrant for me and I’ve become more interested in the debates they have. My parents, friends, teachers, and the media are just a few things that have impacted me and the decision I took in becoming who I am.
SECTION 2: THE POLITICAL CONTEXT OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION OR CRIMINAL JUSTICE ADMINISTRATION Identify and discuss some of the political forces that affect the agency for which you worked and explain how these forces influence the jobs of public and/or criminal justice administrators within that agency. (If you interned at a state, county or city agency, did the current political climate in CA affect the agency? Were there budget restraints? Did you notice if employees were doing more with less? Explain. If you interned at a federal agency, did the election have any effect on the agency? Explain.)
In my early life I feel that family and religion has had the most influential impact of my personal political socialization, in that I grew up in a protestant family. Naturally, my family was very conservative and so am I today, which I guess go against the majority of women. I do stand up for my beliefs and I don’t like to sway even if it may be against popular
One aspect of my life that has shaped my political views is my religious background. I grew up in a Baptist family, and used to go to church regularly. As I got older, I started going to church less and less because the things my pastor said made me feel very uncomfortable. At the time, I did not understand why I felt so uncomfortable and it was not until I got older that I realized why I felt the way I did. Majority of the time, my pastor said things that had sexist and homophobic undertones. Despite being in a holy place, I spent the duration of my time as a member of the church feeling disconnected from everything, which eventually led to me breaking ties with the church completely.
