In ''Sinners in the hands of an angry god ' by Jonathan Edwards , the author utilize different rhetorical techniques to persude his audience to follow the word of god. some of the rhetorical techniques he uses are anology , repetion , and pathos. Jonathan Edwards persudes his audience through the use of anology . Jonathan Edwards states, '' The God that holds you over the pit of hell ,...holds a spider or some loathsome insect over the fire''. This quote suggest how anology is use to compare two different things by comparing an insect to a human.

The Cabin is a fiction book written by Natasha Preston. I read at my house after school on weekdays and I did a little reading on weekends.I spent 4 hours reading and I spent 8 days reading 30 minutes in those days. The environment that is most helpful for my reading comfort is a quiet environment and the location doesn't matter. I read 78 pages.

I read the play Marvin’s Room by Scott McPherson. I chose this play from three plays Burnett offered because the cover was blue and blue is my favorite color. The play is essentially the story of a woman named Bessie who finds out that she has leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant. Through this tragedy her family which was separated comes together again. The theme of this play is that family will always be family. Many people in this play have issues. Hank is in a mental asylum, Marvin is bedridden and dying, and Ruth has back problems. Despite their problems all of these people still care about each other because they are family after all.

When I’m reading, it doesn’t really matter where I read. When I’m reading I go into a different world and get to a place where I feel as if I’m part of the story and can relate to the main character and what he or she is going through. Also, when I’m reading I think the best place for me would be where it’s quiet because I find it easier to concentrate in silence. I also read better when I’m upset because it gives me an outlet to release anger and allows me to get my work done. All throughout my life, I’ve had many good experiences reading. My room has many characteristics of which I share; it has many pictures that I have taken, about my friends or other interesting things that I have found. It is the only place that I can make my own, I can be creative and decorate

Reading has at all times and in all ages been a source of knowledge, of happiness, of pleasure and even moral courage. In today's world with so much more to know and to learn and also the need for a conscious effort to conquer the divisive forces, the importance of reading has increased. In the olden days if reading was not cultivated or encouraged, there was a substitute for it in the religious sermon and in the oral tradition. The practice of telling stories at bed time compensated to some extent for the lack of reading. In the nineteenth century Victorian households used to get together for an hour or so in the evenings and listen to books being read aloud. But today we not only read, we also want to read more and more and catch up

I have learned over the years that to be a successful reader that I must be in a quiet place with little to no distractions. If I am in a loud or active place I am more likely to be distracted and not take anything away from my reading. When I read I try to be in a place where I am secluded from others and can just focus on the reading. I have found that my dorm is a good place to do this because my roommate will just put on her headphones and the room will be completely quiet.
