Even though my transcript does not show stellar grades, it does show improvement. I started off at Mcnair Academic with confusion regarding time management and study skills. As the marking periods went by, I was able to reflect where I went at fault and tried to improve. I learned the importance of planning my day and the importance of time. Thus, even though i did not start off as strong as i hoped, i was able to improve throughout the years. Therefore, my transcript does reflect my accomplishments but not my current academic ability. If I was able to go back in time, with the knowledge I know now of study habits, I would have a great transcript.
On April 10th, 2015, two Detroit police officers in the city’s Narcotics Division were charged with robbing drug dealers during police searches performed over a four-year period. Due to their wide knowledge of narcotics, they were able to make a large profit by reselling the stolen drugs. They sold the drugs through private parties that included underground operations with other drug dealers in the state. The federal indictment was revealed to be eight-counts which included: possession with intent to distribute five or more kilograms of cocaine, robbery, extortion, possession of firearms and drug trafficking (Cook, 2015).
Each change that has been made to VAWA over the few decades has made some attempts to fill in the holes left by the previous enactments. However, recent executive orders have arguably begun to strip away what VAWA had built. These recent changes are only making this already vulnerable group of women even more vulnerable.
When assigned my first essay, “My Greatest Accomplishment,” I took time to brainstorm different ideas that defined me. The accomplishment that stood out the most to me was qualifying for State Track in four events on a sprained ankle. While writing this essay, I felt like a baby learning how to walk. My writing was unsteady and I took a few tumbles trying to get the paragraphs to flow. This reminded me of trying to run on my sprained ankle at the State-qualifying meet. However, like I finished the paper, I finished my events with qualifying times. I knew the essay would prove difficult, but I grew hopeful while writing because I knew I had numerous
There is no other place that would make me work this hard at everything I do, but now I know I could do it. Before being an MEHS student, I relied in only my grades, but getting those good grades with such simplicity was bringing me nowhere. After hearing about Mt. Edgecumbe I was scared that I could not make it up there. After two years of being a student there, I understand that succeeding at Mt. Edgecumbe is no simple task, but it could be done by someone who truly give it everything they have. Although this would be one of he most streaneus accomplishments I had ever achieved, I know I that I could do it if given the
On 08/20/2017 at 1002 hours FTO Wheeler #4361 and I responded to St. Luke’s Hospital emergency room entrance, on 3555 Cesar Chavez St., regarding a women in a hospital gown trying to break the caller’s vehicle window with a brick. Officer Wheeler and I were in full police uniform driving a marked patrol unit when we responded.
General Purpose: To provide a new perspective to the audience about a topic that has been a rising problem the past decade.
My son is my most meaningful accomplishment. I raised my son in a gang-infested neighborhood and managed to keep him on a successful path. Many of the kids he grew up with are in jail, have children, or have substance abuse issues. I am proud to say my son graduated from high school with none of those issues. He is currently in the United States Air Force and doing quite well for himself. He is a good person and a productive member of society. I raised him as a single mother and had to work hard to support him. My greatest challenge and roadblock was time. He watched me go to work full time to make sure he has a roof over his head, while going to school full time to earn my degree to secure better employment opportunities. That meant on certain
When looking back over the previous microthemes and papers I can see how far I have come as a writer. At the beginning of the semester I was a poor writer who could not grasp the important aspects of writing. I had many grammatical errors along with many underdeveloped thoughts. Even though this class was only for a short period of time in order to learn how to write a proper academic paper, I can see how far I have come. My papers may still be sub-par but in many aspects have come a long way. I no longer have as many grammatical errors and can further express my thoughts in a paper. Also by taking this class I have further developed revision skills by learning new tricks such as reading out loud and writing thoughts out as a brainstorming
Our team practice everyday for 2 hours and our record was 23-1. We were the first team ever to win in our age division to ever win for St.Mary’s. We had a hard time in the beginning of the season. One of our best players injured her knee. She was running towards the loose ball and her knee twisted. She was out for the rest of the season. Looking back on it made me better because I learned how hard you to to practice or try to achieve your goal.
As you will come to know most of my experiences are based on sports because other than hunting and fishing. In sports one of the most important thing I have learned is tenacity. My sophomore year of wrestling I was soft, a little chubby, uncoordinated, and not very strong. If you know anything about wrestling you will know that you must be in top physical condition. Needless to say I was not much of a match for the two state qualifying senior wrestlers that were the only other two on the team. That year I got beat up so bad I got slammed, smashed, smacked, and tied into a pretzel. That was all before conditioning I could barely do 20 regular push-ups going into the year by the time that year was over I could do thirty clapping push-ups and
My biggest accomplishments thus far has been improving my academics. By doing so, I finished my first semester of senior year with a 3.6 GPA but, I also won the principles merit award and made the honor roll for the first time. I ended my junior year with very poor GPA of 2.5, this year I made the decision to improve my grades and take academics more seriously by not focusing on athletics so heavily and eliminating as many outside distractions as I could. Another major accomplishment was me getting accepted into UCCS. Even though I was still applying and being accepted to other schools, UCCS was one of the top colleges that I wanted to attend, but I realized that I need to mature as a student and as a person. I changed my attitude about school
What's mine is yours. Having lived a year in a student hostel I understood this phrase was the best to describe my first year student life. We shared everything: all of bright spots, all of difficult moments, all of the books and all of the cakes. My roommates are my best friends now and I trust them as I would myself. I believe amazing adventures and close friendship are waiting for us too! Also I believe, my dear roommate, you’ll get at least one new hobby living with me. I promise I’ll share to you with my frenzy for mountains. Oh, that’s really amazing! I’m a participant of the university tourist all around team(sports tourism university team member) and every weekend we get to go to incredibly picturesque places of Zailiyskiy Alatau.
I have several life experiences which will influence my academic works and goals at Colorado Christian University. First, I will describe my experience in Boy Scouts and how it has shaped my life, secondly; my serving others in the community; serving others one on one, and lastly, my long term goal.
My most meaningful accomplishment will be graduating from Ohio State. I am proud of this because I will be the first in my family to graduate from high school and now from college. Graduating from Ohio State is such an incredible accomplishment for me not only because of the mere fact I am graduating, but because I am graduating from a University away from my hometown. Within my high school graduating class, only one other student came with me to Ohio State for college and unfortunately, he dropped out after our first year. Being away from home, family, and familiar faces made my transition to Ohio State more difficult because I had to learn to be independent and make decisions by myself, for myself. The greatest challenge for me academically
Within Sports Coaching Literature, it has been established that reflection is a generic term for intellectual and effective activities, in which individuals examine their experiences, in order to develop new understanding and intrapersonal appreciation (Knowles, et al., 2006). Research in this field has advocated reflective practice as an approach to professional development which positively impacts coaching effectiveness (Cropley, et al., 2012). This reflective report shall discuss, analyse and evaluate my own personal development throughout my first semester spent studying at UCFB, in order to develop new understanding and intrapersonal appreciation, and help explore my decisions and experiences, increasing understanding of
