After the Self-esteem test I found I am not good enough at any part of this test. Especially, emotional competency and self-motivation . Because of my weakness on self-esteem, I probably will meet some problem in my future especially when I join in a workplace such as an organization or a company. Firstly I am not good at emotional competency, that’s means I will have difficulty on make expression in a work team so that my team members won’t know my advises for the team. It will also let me make limited contribution in my team. Than I am having weakness at self-motivation, this means I cannot encourage myself when I meet difficulties in team work. For example: If I do not go well with my team members I probably will choose to escape from the issue rather than try to solve the difficulty. I may choose to quit the team or even leave the whole organize. In fact, escape from difficulties is not a positive method to choose, try to solve difficulty is the right thing to do. I can do better on self- esteem by learn to
My learning style is a pragmatist since I like to get feedback from others about my work, I like to experiment and try things out and I would rather get on with tasks rather than talk about. The good learning situations from being a pragmatist is I have a clear link between thinking and what has to be done, when there are opportunities I always try to try them out, and I am happy to copy from role models since it benefits me as I gain more knowledge as to what I need to do. The bad learning situations I get from this is a m unable to identify the relevance of what sometimes needs to be done in a task and I do not like not having guidance on how to do things as I get stuck very easily.

The way that an individual learns can shape their entire life. I personally struggle when it comes to learning topics within math and sciences. After reading about the different learning styles I understand better as to why that is. It is common sense that everyone is different, so it makes sense that we all learn differently. There are eight learning styles that were outlined and discussed in the textbook. While reading and researching about them I was able to easily put each of the learning styles into three categories: (1) I have those characteristics, (2) I have some of those characteristics, and (3) I am definitely not that. I will discuss more in-depth the styles I feel I do possess which is, interpersonal, verbal, and intrapersonal.

Between the practice of education and the conducting of research in educational psychology, there is a divide that has formed around the effectiveness of utilizing learning styles while teaching and learning. Learning styles are defined as an individual’s mode of gaining knowledge, especially a preferred or best method (Learning Styles). Common examples of learning styles include visual learners, auditory learners, kinesthetic learners, verbal learners, and social learners. While most individuals will predominately relate to one learning style most heavily, it is considered common practice to identify a mix of learning styles that work together to support the learner. Over the past several decades, educators and our schools have been investing time, energy, and money to implement strategies which are aimed at helping to identify student’s learning styles. The underlying premise is that by understanding individual differences in ourselves and in our students, we may be able to create more effective, diverse, and enjoyable learning environments. Many researchers have also acknowledged the pervasiveness of this line of thinking and agree that it is an attractive idea that at first glance appears to be common sense (Marshik, Jarrett, Pashler, Reid, Riener & Willingham) in the learning process.
