My Relationship With Writing Analysis

I always thought of writing as cooking for yourself, not something you always look forward to, but after painstaking minutes of standing over the stove with sweat pouring down your face your final result is a sink full of dirty pots and pans and a delicious steaming plate of, in my case, pasta. As Joseph Harris says the final result “tend(s) to conceal much of the labor involved with writing” but the same goes for cooking everyone sees the beautifully plated result but not the huge pile of dished in the sink.

After I graduated from college three years ago and decided to take myself seriously as a writer, my bookshelf changed drastically as well as the way I viewed my work.

I love writing and I love biology, and you may not think that these two are in any sort of ways related, but to me, they are. I love writing everything down, making notes from every single observation about the world. Every time I have wrote these notes, I can image the words dancing on a white paper, I can see blue ink marks flowing its way gracefully guided by the pathway of pen. I had never minded until one day my classmate observed that I do strongly press when I write, like I would turn it into braille letters. It’s not because I would like to destroy my pen or waste my ink like they teased. It’s because every word on a white paper has a meaning to me. The obsession with handwritten notes has followed throughout my academic life, since I was the clumsy little girl who crossed out ugly spelling mistakes in my language paper until I’m a nerdy junior who sat and took handwritten notes while my classmates played a solo with their Mac. To me, the words on paper means much more than those on screen, which now seems obsolete. Words in handwritings can move, and they can dance their ways into your heart, and become part of who you are. To me, my handwriting and the words I have jotted down means more than ‘a part’ of my

I think my most important strength is that I am able to express myself though words. I am able to easily write and desenvolve when it comes to writing. Challenges in writing for me might be punctuation, grammar. I really thank God for technology and for all this programs that help you when it comes to review your work.

You’re five years old, sitting on your grandmother’s lap as a child reading story after story. Going on a magical journey to a far of place without leaving the comfort of the living room. Flash forward ten years, in your high school English room. You sit with your best friend in the classroom revising your latest paper listening to what she thinks needs work. After that round of revision you go to your teacher for her advice. She has already explained what to do in great detail but you need her constructive criticism to help you finish that concluding paragraph. All of these things are typical if you have been influenced your writing by little things along way.

I communicate more effectively by writing than I do communicating verbally. I believe that I write to the best of my ability with the knowledge I have but know that I could definitely learn a lot in this class that will help me write better. I do not write a lot for pleasure or for work although when I was a kid I spent a lot of time writing poems. I really enjoyed it and dedicated a lot of time to writing. As I have gotten older, all my spare time I used to have seems to be consumed by all the adult responsibilities of being a parent, a grandparent, and a Soldier.

Writing is very important to us humans and to the world. Writing is the way that you use written words to express your ideas, feelings, or opinions to others. A written article or essay can be composed of letters or characters that can serve as visible signs of ideas, words, or symbols. In writing, a writer or author can produce or make books, poems, essays, letters, articles, and reading journals that can help other people.

When I start to write essays, or even paragraphs, I become stalled by my own doubts. I begin to forget what I do know, and I feel like I don't have anything to write about which leaves me at a standstill. I forget who I am writing to, or who my audience is. I overload my paragraphs with large words and strong vocabulary, not realizing that I am not conveying a story to my readers. "Ten Ways to Think About Writing" gave me a new thought process on the beginning of a story, essay, or even just a simple blog post. I should approach writing with an attitude geared to my audience. I should think first about what I know, and be able to tell those things well, instead of just jumping into all the things that I'm not sure about, and eventually trailing

Everything we read and write consist of 26 letters. Everything you do requires you to read something, reading a label, to reading a road sign, it is everywhere. Reading and writing has had an impact on life from when I was a younger child and enjoyed reading and writing, to when I get older I am required to read a book and write a paper for school purposes. When I was younger reading was more enjoyable because the books interested me that could be mysterious, or having humor like, “Junie B. Jones.” To when I get older it is required by school to read and write, for example summer readings, to which I dislike doing every summer.

Personally, I have noticed that I find writing to be rather challenging because I have a tough time writing my ideas down on paper. If I were given a topic to talk about or asked a question, I would be able to talk about my answer thoroughly and with ease. However, when it comes to writing, I consistently seem to be at a loss for words and I find expressing my thoughts onto paper highly problematic.

My philosophy on writing is fairly simple, always write about what you love. Any writing that isn’t driven by some sense of passion is incomplete. As difficult as it was for me to chose four essays from this semester to put in my portfolio, I feel as though I have chosen the right four papers that reflect my values and who I am as a person. The first essay I chose was my narrative essay. This essay means a lot to me in particular because it is about me and friend’s adventures around Italy. Since it was one of my favorite days in the entire world, I found it important to put it in my portfolio to keep the memory alive because it is a day I never want to forget. Two types of feelings sparks out of my body when I write. One of those feelings is joy. Joy is when I write, or should I say type. I love typing because it lets me type my thoughts out onto a keyboard versus writing with a pencil. I find it easier to write down my ideas rather than saying them out loud. This allows me to express my inner thoughts where I’d never have the self esteem to do in person. Another joy that comes with writing is reading. I read every single day since I was a child. Whether they’re books, news articles, or any type of texts, I read them all. Then there comes stress where a writer’s block happens where I’m stuck at staring into a blank blinking cursor. Writing to me has been like a love-hate relationship. When I can deliver and express my feelings through writing, then it’s a love relationship. However, if I struggle to expresses those feelings and I can’t seem to bring them in the right format then it’s a hateful relationship.

Over the years reading and writing has impacted the lives of individuals in various, unique ways; for example, reading can be a pleasurable hobby for some, or writing could have an impact as life changing as driving one’s career in journalism. Reading and writing ultimately affects the majority of people, positive or negative, because it is incorporated in the majority of the daily tasks we encounter. Personally, reading and writing has been influential in my development as a person because it has offered challenges that I have had to over come as well as offering an escape from reality.

Literature, is a very educational required curriculum in school it can also be known as a Genre or classes like this one for example English. I know reading and writing are composed of similar qualities. Therefore, one cannot work without the other. These two reading and writing fall back on one another because without reading, writing would be very difficult. I feel that being literal is important for everyday life to communicate, to socialize (etc.) because people everywhere communicate with one another or like to read. I realized whether if it’s a text on a smartphone or if your just reading instructions for a new telescope. Reading and writing are everywhere we look, I encourage everyone to read because it really helps expand your language!
