My Senior Goals

As senior year is coming to a close, I’ve been reflecting on all that I have accomplished not only in school but also in my spiritual life. At the beginning of the school year I set several goals for myself to accomplish during my senior year. Our responsibility as seniors was to be spiritual leaders, and good role models to the younger students at school. It feels like just yesterday we were setting our goals to accomplish by the end of the year, and now it’s already time to graduate and see if we accomplished these goals. The first goal that I wanted to accomplish was to get out of my comfort zone. I can honestly say that this year challenged me to get out of my comfort zone, and I feel like I accomplished this goal. I think that I’ve definitely grown in these areas of my life; however, I don’t think you could truly accomplish goals like these. There is always room to improve, and grow even stronger in these aspects of life. I hope that while we were in Puerto Rico that I was a shining light of Christ to those children in the orphanage. As far as reading my bible everyday, that was a rollercoaster ride. I would start out strong then slack off, then start back again and then slack off again. Despite all of this, I am continuing to work on reading my bible more, and grow closer to the Lord every single day. I want my relationship with the Lord to grow stronger, so that when I get to college my faith can withstand anything. Our theme verse for our mission trip was Matthew 28:19-20. It says, “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you and be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” This was not only the theme verse for the mission trip, but also the theme verse for my spiritual journey. I feel like my class and I did a good job living out this verse in Puerto Rico, and I’m hopeful we will continue to live by this verse as we go our separate
