My Strengths and Challenges
Everyone can have strengths and challenges and sometimes you can’t note it unless someone told you about it. When you know what is your personal strengths and weaknesses it can help to make a good decisions. Some it can be easy for you not for everyone else. When you find your own strength think about it when it comes easy for you, so what are my strengths and challenges and how I overcome it.
First, for my strengths I can set my goals, support my opinion with facts, and remember the important information when I have an exam, take notes from the textbook, get to class on time, participate in the class, take study breaks, study alone, come to class prepared, locate information for research projects, evaluate information for researching, use critical thinking skills to solve problems, use social media for academic and career purposes, develop respectful relationships with faculty and classmates, and completing my work on time.
Next, for my challenges I have problems like organize an essay, write and complete a strong essay without someone to help me do that, eliminate distractions, control my test anxiety, and allow plenty of time to prepare for exams, take organized notes, and complete the exam on the time assigned, and to keep an organized notebook.
My overall goal is to know how to organize myself. The changes that I wanted to make in order to overcome my biggest challenge is to find someone who can help me to solve my problems. Some of my problems that I need to overcome time management or lack of time I overcome it when I prioritize the important things that I need to do first. Schedule my day, week, and month, and get help. The anxiety when I have test I overcome it by approaching the exam with confidence, prepared before the test, and to get good night sleep before the test. Lack of focus or Concentration I overcome it by removing the distractions like electronic until I finish my task, I promise myself a reward if I did what I have to do will, and by setting a specific time each day to do what I have to do. When try to do too much things in the same time I overcome it by doing it one in a time, clear my desk from everything that I don’t need, and asking for help. Procreation I
Identifying and understanding your own personal strengths is key to being a successful leader. Knowing your strengths means you can focus your efforts to maximize results, in yourself and in others. Strengths Finder 2.0 is designed to uncover your strengths and utilize these strengths to your advantage (Rath, 2007). Identifying and applying these strengths to your leadership style, will enhance your effectiveness as a transformational leader.
Based on the Clifton Strengths Assessment my top five strengths are strategic, deliberative, learner, maximize and individualization. As an individual, I rarely look into my weakness. I believe that when your too focused on your weakness, you forget about your strengths. Everything the book said is true, and we need to take the time to look at our strengths and make it perfect. It is true that in this world or the school system, we are taught to look at our weakness and correct it so that we can become stronger in our life. This book brings out the truth that I longed to hear for a long time. Invariably, I hear my professor tell their students that for them success in life, they must practice and look at our weakness. This book proves it wrong because for us to become successful, we must stay to our strengths’ path.
future challenges as much as I seek to overcome. Previously, I would stress about my school work, which would affect my motivation negatively. Exams have also given me a sense of anxiety every time I did them and sometimes my mind would almost blank out and put me in a difficult position. In addition, I was an adolescent who was awkward and in my previous educational settings. I also
My strengths are my self-confidence, determination, organization, and ability to prioritize. Balancing an overloaded school schedule, upwards of 24 credits in a semester, maintaining excellent grades, raising a toddler, and volunteering are demonstrative of my greater fortes. In terms of weaknesses, public speaking has always been difficult for me, as well as networking. I have branched outside of my comfort zone, engaged in volunteer opportunities, student organizations, and clubs as an effort to improve upon this.
Upon completion of the StrengthsFinder survey, I discovered that my five greatest strengths were Achiever, Discipline, Responsibility, Relator, and Competition. However, I was skeptical about the initial results until I read what each strength entails. I found most of the information given to be accurate. According to the description of those strengths, I discovered that I use them daily without realizing it.
My strengths and weaknesses as a student would honestly have to be to just stay quiet and not get many friends only have one or two the rest just keep as your acquaintance increase you would need to use them for anything else. Outside of school have as many as you would like but inside of school only have two more than that is too much and would tend to cause drama. That’s something I definitely learned the hard way and would most definitely say is my weakness, not knowing when to stop. As for a strength, it’s most likely having a creative mind and courage to keep going regardless of
I am flawed with many weaknesses but I am also equipped with many strengths as well. My strengths consist of being an organized and hardworking. Science and history are two areas I excel in. Science is one of my strengths because I can learn about a range of topics and be able to see how they all work in a sense. History is another strong point I have mostly due to the fact the past is
The main thing that I continually struggle with, is challenging myself to improve. If I am given an assignment in class or at work where I know it will be difficult, more often than not I am able to work my way through the struggles and failures to complete the task at hand. However, if I am given a choice to take an easy route or a hard route to complete a task, I can lack the motivation to choose the harder route. For example, if a class assignment was to create a presentation over a topic and present it in a creative way, I am more likely to stick with a Power Point with some fancy theme than I am to challenge myself and think through a more creative and exciting
These past three weeks have been a huge learning experience for me. Not only have I learned how an outpatient center operates, but I have also learned about my own strengths and weaknesses in performing an exam on a patient as well. I have discovered that my strengths are marker placement, my knowledge of anatomy, and patient care. I have also found areas that are my weaknesses, positioning for a y-shoulder is a bit tricky for me, I lack confidence when performing exams, and shielding. Learning these areas that are my strong and weak points has been an eye-opener for me, and finding ways to build my weaknesses up into strengths has been a challenge. I am, however, up for that challenge.
In this class, College Seminar, there were new strategies for success I learned, but the three I am committing to are Mastering Self-Management, Organizing Study Materials, and Taking tests. The reason I choose these three is that I believe they are what I need to change and develop the utmost. The one I choose first is Developing Self-Discipline because although, I start with every intention of finishing a project and doing a grand job I often don’t. Unfortunately, it is not unusual for me to become distracted by work, family, and other issues and stop or become behind in my studies. For my second choice, I have picked Organizing Study Materials since the problems I encounter are because I am unorganized. Often I have difficulty finding
My personal strengths are that I am a keen learner and organized person because like Benjamin Franklin I believe that if I fail to plan then I am planning to fail. Above all I am confident that I have made the right choice and that I am a suitable candidate for
As a communicator, I acknowledge that I have strengths and weaknesses. I was raised in a small country town and had an ethnocentric view on other cultures. After learning from lectures, I have become aware of this barrier and realised I needed to learn to understand other cultures. Now, I reflect on my behaviours and interactions. I acknowledge biases and plan to improve on difficult situations. I request feedback from my friends, family on my communication. This is now a strength, and has influenced my above average Meta-Cognition score of 5.5.
Upon completing the personality Type Inventory by Hogan and Champagne, the results revealed the hidden aspect of my key personality traits that I wasn’t aware of. I ended up with the Introvert, Intuitive, Thinking and Judging Personality which is described as “being one of the rarest and most strategically capable personality types” (16 Personalities, 2011, para.1).
The strengths I have: being efficient and organize. I have to have everything a particular manner before I write, perform, or do almost any jobs. Occasionally this can cost me lots of time. The weaknesses that I have are a perfectionist and impatient at times. I was used to working at a substantially faster rate than those around me. Sharing information and interacting with others is when I learn best. Understanding my weaknesses assists me to plan methods to conquer them when I am doing tasks and socializing with others. I must be kinder to myself and less strict about matters being merely so. I also need to be more delicate and comprehensible of others who tend not to take up my perfectionist styles. I also should be patient with people who take longer time to work. Since I have got a tendency to delay works when I do not feel like doing anything, I, therefore, need to create a regular schedule with integrated rewards and times for learning and acquiring assignments done.
In the activity prior to writing this paper, I believe the most difficult part was deciding what weaknesses we could work at to become positive qualities. One of my weaknesses is over committing myself. I enjoy helping people when they are in need; however, I sometimes stretch myself too thin, and I end up letting someone down. I decided that become more self aware of my capabilities and managing my time better could turn this weakness into a positive quality. This activity really made me think about how the strengths perspective can be a positive way of thinking.
