Initially, my strengths as an interviewer would stem from my early passion for listening to others in their times of need. I learned through my personal experience with my peers and family that it was they that had the answer to their issues but often needed to talk about their issues to a willing participant to find it. I found that others did not want advice more as they wanted guidance to come to a conclusion they felt comfortable with to hand at that time. Furthermore, with my diverse cultural and socioeconomic background, I was able to experience many different individuals in their unique circumstances. I was able ti understand that diverse individuals were often above their assigned stereotypes and were simply a part of the human condition to which we all subscribe. Lastly, I would attribute my strengths as an interviewer to my past employment experiences. With positions in both the health care and social work, I has much practice with interviewing with a wide range of clients. I was set in formal settings were I was to have individual or group sessions with individuals to discuss issues of personal health or wellbeing. I am confident that my learned skills will carry over and provide an advantage in the field of counseling.

My personal strengths include a dedication to social justice, I am compassionate, I am open-minded and able to evaluate issues from various aspects and points of view. Professionally, my strengths are experiences working with individuals from various ages, cultures, ethnicities, beliefs, and socioeconomic statuses. I have worked with individuals with various mental health concerns, people with past and current substance use, and those experiencing domestic violence. These strengths will assist me in creating helping relationships with my clients because I think it will foster a trusting and safe environment which will encourage the clients to confide in me as well as work together to effect positive change in their lives.
If the interviewer were to ask, what do you feel are your biggest weaknesses? Look for ways to discuss weaknesses as opportunities for improvement/learning and/or include things you’ve already done to improve/learn. I am very good with children, but I have to improve my computers skills which in this time is very important to know.
Current strengths: My attitude towards clients is always excellent. For example, when my client was very hostile towards me in a role play (skills day), I could act professionally and did not allow her attitude to affect mine.
However, learning what my strengths are was very interesting. My supervisor informed me that I am good at recruiting and presenting. Knowing this information has helped me understand the areas of Human Resources that I may be most strong in.
I have well-developed people skills and excellent relationships, though possessing the Feeling (F) trait, having excellent analytical abilities; though Introverted (I), being the defender of others. Consequently, possessing this particular personality trait could be very beneficial as I will continue my career in the healthcare field. My strengths that I feel I brought to the group are ideas and empathy. I am able to give creative and innovative ideas. I have a passion for educating patients about their health and helping them prevent chronic diseases. I am able to bring that excitement and ambition to a particular project. I am known to be bossy by some due to my apprehension of something turning out wrong and that the result will be disappointing. However, I take this as one of my strengths because it pushes me to push people to help them work out a problem I notice. This is important for a director to have because they need to help their actors make their production better. Another important one of my strengths that relate to those of a directors, is that I know the the people who will be trying out for parts. My last skill is honesty. I'm completely honest in all situations. No matter the deal, I'm honest. Lying gets nobody nowhere but further into their problem. I remember one time, I did something bad with my friends, and I ended up getting in trouble. The next day, when I went home, I told my mom. I told her because I'm honest. This shows that no matter the situation, I always tell the truth. In all, I think I would be a very good possible candidate for this job.
Throughout this interview that was conducted with my brother I learned a lot of things about myself that I never knew before, which will certainly help me in the future when I will be applying for work or volunteer positions. According to my brother I have many strengths, skills, qualities, talents and things that I need to work on. During the interview with my brother he said that my strengths were hard working, considerate, easy-going, generous, responsible, patient, passionate, loyal, dependable and determined. I never knew I obtained half of the strengths he mentioned but when he did I was stunned that he thought all of this about me. In situations when I have worked in a group setting, I have been told that one of my strengths is taking in, processing multiple ideas and information. Another strength is being able to determine the ideas that are relevant to the project on which we are working. After participating in a business symposium at Huntington University, I received feedback from another participant who felt that I was knowledgeable and able to express myself succinctly. Another one of my current strengths would be that I am very detail oriented and specially in a clinical setting, can be quite useful. Being able to pay attention to minor details can be the best way to assess a patient and find the best method of working with them.

When I think of the word interview I think of it as a series of questions asked from one person to another to seek information.
