Infrastructure is the basic foundation of everything ever created. It requires a team of people to draw up the plans to build a work of art or accomplish a goal . Every team member has a special ability that is useful and essential in the team itself. What is the definition of team? To me, my team is a group of girls that care about the well being of one another on and off the field. A group of girls that I can rely on and who can rely on me to be there for them through thick and thin. My softball team will always be my family because they have shaped me to become who I am to this day. On a softball team, each player has an individual job to do, but the team has to work together in order for that job to be completed. As an outfielder, once
As I was growing up, my parents always wanted to find something to help me be active with other children. I was extremely shy and would not talk to anyone. At the age of six, I chose to try out for softball, but I was not sure if it was something I would continue to play. Softball has helped me break out of my comfort zone and talk to people, make lifelong friends, and be stronger as an individual. The older I got, the more open I was, but my first year of JV is what broke my shell.
SHREVEPORT, La. – The Ladies softball team picked up their first win of the season, 4-2, in game one of the doubleheader, but five errors led to four unearned runs by the Wildcats in a 5-1 loss in game two between Centenary (1-5) and Louisiana College (3-1) Tuesday night, February 7.
GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Ladies never trailed in an 8-3 win in game one, but Centenary (8-9, 2-4 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) fell to Southwestern (12-8, 2-4 SCAC) 13-1 (five innings) in the nightcap as the two teams split a double header Saturday afternoon, March 17.
My project advisor is Greg Lanman who is the director of the Peachtree City Girls Softball Association. He has been on the PTCGSA board for around 4 years and has two daughters who have also played softball. Over the past four years, he has put in a lot of energy and time into the softball program from dragging and lining the fields during the seasons to working the concession stand. Mike Latham is the president of the Peachtree City Girls Softball Association board and would help approve of the decisions about situations with storage and distributing the equipment to the girls. He would also help find a parent volunteer to help maintain the program. Joe Serratelli was my softball coach for four years and has been a part of the PTCGSA community
Just hours after capturing its first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament win in program history, five Centenary softball players were honored by the conference. In a vote by the SCAC coaches and announced at the Conference Softball Tournament Friday, April 22, five Ladies grabbed All-Conference honors.
On October 9 the Lady Bulldog's softball team played against the Lady Bearcats from Cairo. Although they fell short with the close score of 3-2, their classmates cheered them on from the bleachers. Along with many of the student body, Abigail Parton, 12, participates in the chants that filled the night sky. Parton states that her favorite part about pep squad is,"getting dressed up , but also supporting and encouraging the
Participant 1 (PAR1, AFSAS Person 1) was playing softball when he attempted to slide into a base; PAR1 was then hit in the back of the head resulting a concussion/7 LWDS.

The Iowa Western Community College Softball program strongly relies on integrity on the field as well as in the classroom. Because junior college student-athletes are required to have an Associate’s Degree to move on to Division-I colleges, it is imperative that they focus on strong academic success. By focusing on academics, our work ethics can be greatly amplified by understanding that academics come first. As a coach for the Reiver softball team, I also believe that by showing compassion for others, common goals can be achieved even through competitive sport. Through my personal integrity, I show that each student-athlete’s competitive objectives are attainable through humbleness and modesty. Through a high degree of athletic ability, the team members will maintain a strong work ethic both mentally and physically to provide successes on the field. In doing so, the empowerment of their successes will help them to strive to be leaders in the community.
In the year 1943, Philip K. Wrigley founded the All-American Girls Softball League. He formed the league to entertain baseball fans while many of the men were away fighting WWII. What began as a softball league transformed to baseball league that eventually became known as the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL). The league was designed with fifteen teams made up of twenty to twenty-five women spread out across America. The league existed for twelve years, from 1943 to 1954. This was a period of time when women were not supposed to have professional careers outside of the home, much less careers that involved professional athletics. Girls were expected to grow up to be wives and mothers, not baseball players. The women of the AAGPBL were athletic pioneers who pursued and captured their dreams of playing professional baseball in much the same way as men had for decades.
Softball is a sport that is known throughout the United States and the world. Softball originated on Thanksgiving Day in Chicago in 1887. The game was actually said to have begun as an indoor game. Softball was started by a group of men who had gathered at a club to watch the Harvard vs. Yale football game. When the news came that Yale had defeated Harvard, 17-8, one Yale supporter, overcome with enthusiasm, picked up an old boxing glove and threw it at a nearby Harvard alumni, who promptly tried to hit it back with a stick. This gave George Hancock, a reporter for the Chicago Board of Trade, an idea. He suggested a game of indoor baseball. Naturally, Hancock's friends thought he was talking about playing a game outdoors, not indoors.
Softball taught me how to be successful and how to adapt to failure. Although end results do not always coincide with the effort put forth, a majority of the time they do. My high school softball team has not been the best team I have played during my softball career. Most people regard this as a failure, but I prefer to use it as a positive learning experience. We work hard to learn our weaknesses and fix them. We work hard everyday, on and off the field to become stronger. Without hard work, we would not be as prestigious which reveals the vitality of a good work ethic to my teammates and
Families: I establish a positive and productive relationship with families by building trust, giving respect, communication and consistency. I greet each child and family daily. When I inform parents of issues with their children, I do so in a positive manner using the sandwich method. This method gives strengths before stating any issues or concerns and allows the parent and myself to come to a meeting of the minds on the best way to approach correcting problems. This also allows parents to contribute to positive ways of working together to help further the child’s education and development.
1.) Through out my life, I have been trying to figure out my purpose. It wasn't until my senior year of high school that I found my calling. Helping out in one of the Newaygo High School classrooms, tutoring speical needs students, is what truly brightens my soul each day. To obtain this goal, I plan to graduate from Adrian College with a Bachelors degree in Speical Education. From here, I would like to find a career in either a school, hospital or learning center. In 10 years, I see myself making a difference. Where ever I end up, I will be changing the lives of children who are trying to find their purpose. Special education is dear to my heart because so many people count out people with disabilities. The students in the classrooms I have helped in have shown me what it is to truly live. They have such a unique perspective on life; a thirst to experience and cherish each
A positive note, over time the health status of our aging population has shown some improvements, this could be linked to the lower disease burden of recent generations. More seasoned individuals can live fiery and dynamic lives until a later age than in the past and on the off-chance that they’re encouraged to be profitable; they can be contributors as well. Additionally the likelihood of current intensive biomedical anti-aging studies should not be left out; they may increase the healthy and productive time of human life in years to
