Every few years my family takes a trip to Oglebay Park in Wheeling W. Virginia and we rent a massive cabin that sleep about ___ people. The special thing about this trip is that my mother 's entire side of the family goes on this vacation. Now everyone had their favorite things to do on the trip - from cooking and eating meals together, to visiting one of the indoor or outdoor pools, to fishing, playing golf, or hiking the mountain paths. However, my favorite activity is playing cards as often as possible. The first time we went to Oglebay Park wasn’t always a good time at the table because that was when I was taught. When I played the first hand, I was my father’s partner. For those of you who don’t know, there are a few things that you seldom, make that never - according to my father - do when playing euchre. One of them is trumping your partner’s ace when it is already taking the point! Well, after I did that for the third time unnecessarily, he said - and I quote (both his words and his tone), “Trent! How can somebody so smart, be so so (pause) stinking STUPID. Well, regardless of this traumatic experience which you can tell (soft sad voice) has scarred me for life, I actually do enjoy playing cards. In fact, I enjoy it so much I did some homework on cards in general and thought I would take a few minutes and share some of what I discovered. While the average person might not realize how important cards are they affect our lives more than we can imagine. Because when you
Who could ask for a more magical place to take a family vacation than Disney World. This place was really a dream come true. My trip to Disney World was by far the best family vacation that I have ever been on.
The aces, that’s what started it all. In “I am the Messenger” by Markus Zusak the main character Ed Kennedy leads a perfectly extraordinary life until he receives a playing card in the mail, an ace. Suddenly Ed is thrust into situations in which he is nearly clueless navigating his way through four aces with three tasks on each he ends up with a very serious revelation. “I am the Messenger” focuses entirely around the notion of change and how one small shift can change lives.
On October 28th, 2017 my mother said “here” and gave me $30. “What’s this for?” I asked. “$10 is for lunch and the other $20 is for you to go to Six Flags with your friends (Keion Flenoid, Kamaurion Stokes, and Kelly Dang.) after your chess tournament.” The next morning, my mother took me to my chess tournament where me and my team (Gateway Middle Chess club) placed fourth in the tournament.
When the word “vacation” is mentioned, everyone instantly thinks of a great time. There are no classes, no work, no chores, and most importantly, no worries. However, this isn’t always the case, especially with my family. We decided to set out on an adventure to Virginia Beach this past April. The events that took place were benign but, the trip itself was a little bit of a struggle due to the chain of unpredictable events.
Long ago, in West Virginia, the people thought it would be best for the state if we built a castle and have a Queen and Princess as their rulers. Many people came to vote for the new monarchy and their futures depended on who was presented with the crown and duties of being a ruler. The votes had been counted and finalized, they would have new rulers soon. The votes revealed that Monica and Claire Bellinger would be best for West Virginia.
The best trip I have ever been on would have to be our first family trip to Florida. Have you ever wondered what Myrtle Beach has to offer for its tourists? Well I'm about to tell you. Every year I go on vacation to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a week. We usually leave a few days after Christmas and come back a few days after New Years. I go with my grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, and some of my cousins. We have been going on this vacation for about six years, but at first it only started out as us going down for the weekend. The first two years we went to Myrtle Beach it was just me and my grandma and grandpa, but after that year some more of my family started to come down with us.

During summer vacation my mom’s family came to New York from Germany. They came since we decided to go to Florida and spend time as a family. This was there first time ever coming to America, so we wanted to make this trip enjoyable and never forgetful. In order for us to go to Florida, we rented a 16-passagner van. The experience for them was like fantasy because we saw all the states entering Florida and they bought souvenirs from each place.

Peering at the five cards in your hand, glaring at your teammate sitting diagonally across the table from you, deciding whether or not you should call the trump suit or pass it on. This is a genuine situation over 150 students experienced in the Canton cafeteria as they partook in the first ever BLAST Euchre Tournament, an Independent Service Project, run and organized by Canton senior Alexis Boron.
December 24, 2015. Catherine McGough and her husband had planned a vacation at the Willard Hotel with her husband. First thing first, Mrs. McGough entered the hotel through the exterior sliding automatic doors to check-in at the front desk, while her husband unloaded the luggage out of the car.
