The distant sound of the bath alarm awoke me; my mother must have wanted a bath. I rolled about lethargically for a couple of minutes before sitting up and getting out of bed. The cyborg housebot was already making my bed, and it soon looked as though no one had ever slept in it.

For my transport to school that day, I decided to opt for my hover board. As elegantly as a swan gliding through the water, I sailed through the air. On route, I was feeling thirsty. Luckily I spotted a hovering ice cream man, so I stopped for a drink. My thirst quenched, I proceeded on to school, which was by then only a few blocks away. Everyone congregated in the yard to play. Mel was especially good at dodging the ball. Like a humming bird around nectar, the ball hovered in front of me. I pulled back my foot and let loose a ferocious shot. It shot forward with quite some speed and velocity and cannoned into the side of Mark. He was knocked down instantly and walked off, a little disappointed at being eliminated so early in the game. Luckily I managed to last a little longer, but eventually Mel got me out. She actually went on to win the game by eliminating John Munk.

Third period was PE, and that day we were playing football. I was placed in goal for the first half, I saved a penalty and tipped a curling free kick over the bar. In the second half I was a defender; this was my favourite position. When the ball hovered in front of me, I just either passed it to a player, if there was sufficient time, or if someone was bombing down the field at me I'd just let loose a doom ball special. Those always made them think twice about using that approach again. Our team eventually won by just one goal. After a poor clearance, Luke scored with a tremendous volley from the edge of the eighteen-yard box.

For lunch we all met near the entrance, eating our sandwiches at the picnic tables. We chatted for a while afterwards. Mark, who was absent that day as he was ill, would normally sit with us. The conversation
