My Writing Style Analysis

I have been through a multitude of writing assignments and projects throughout my college career, and I can say that beginning them has always been the hardest thing for me to do. There are many that I don’t remember but, those that I do, are the ones that have influenced my writing technique the most. Some assignments and projects have influenced my writing while working through them, while others I learned from mistakes by eating the dust of a bad grade due to grammatical errors, or poor planning. Both of which, have shaped me to be the writer I am today. There are many weaknesses that I have overcome in the writing process through major assignments,

The writing of my college essay was quite a process. Normally for me writing comes rather easy, I do not struggle putting my ideas on paper. At first I thought that this essay would be simple to do and not be very stressful. It turned out to be quite the opposite in fact, just brainstorming was a struggle for me. It was difficult for me to think about my life and how it is special. To me, the events that have shaped me do not seem that relevant, at 18 I had never really payed much attention to how certain things affected me, I just lived my life. eventually , with the help of Mary, I came to the realization that having my summer taken away from me due to a broken foot had really changed my life philosophy, it truly changed who I was and my outlook on life.

Throughout all four years of high school, the “meaning” of a race and all its components were described to me in great detail. My coach found that a three mile cross country race could apply to almost anything. He would analyze races by separating each mile. The first mile is run with one’s legs, the second with their brain, and the third with their heart. I never fully understood how the versatility of the science of a race. Immediately when thinking about how to explain my writing process and how I could reflect on this past semester while also encompassing the theme of love, the three mile cross country race that had been engrained in my brain came to mind.

Many creative minds around the world have their own special ways to prepare themselves for writing. Through writing they can create award winning novels, books, and stories. Out of all these creative minds, none of them have any similarities on how they prepare themselves for writing. Most people assume that writers just sit down in a chair and crack their knuckles then start brainstorming for their writing . Everyone has their own different ways they prepare themselves physically and mentally. Personally before I start writing I have to make myself physically comfortable. For this to happen I have to place myself in a cold and quite environment. Then set a comfortable chair, a clean desk, a laptop, and a drink along with some snacks. After being physically comfortable, I have to then make myself mentally prepared to write by putting ideas down

Throughout this class I have learn many different writing styles. We used APA form of writing to type our paper and essay. I have also learned that it’s good to take your time and spend more time thinking about what to write, other than just righting a paper right off back. I have learned that it’s not a good idea to write a paper on the day it’s done, that’s more like a ruff daft. My teacher have helped me understand different point of writing. Which all writing deal with an ethos, pathos and logos, either one or all of them will run through anything that tell you anything in writing. From what emotion are there to who have the rights to speak at the moment to what are the facts to agree with this person. As a class we have read articles, bio from many people to understand that it’s more then what the person is writing. Reading between lines and analyzing a part of the story can tell you more then what the writer is saying. Working together to understand something and work better than being alone thinking about a situation you can’t understand.

Whenever I get a writing assignment for class, it seems like a chore. I don’t have a problem with writing, but papers always seem to take more time than they should. Maybe this is due to poor planning on my part, but essays are usually an ordeal, and I dread actually doing the work to finish one. The task is simple enough, but putting it off always seems like a better alternative to writing. I do think about the paper that I have to write, but I do not put thoughts and ideas into a paper or outline until I absolutely need to do so. From the moment I am given an assignment sheet, I begin brainstorming about the paper. I may not use any of these ideas, but I think of them. I also have a tendency to forget good ideas, which leads me to think

I notice one of the disadvantages with read/write style is not being able to learn due to limited or lack of instruction in visual if there no access to writing materials. An advantage of this style makes a person more self-dependent because of the note taking the process which equal self taught.

There are many writing styles that many people pick up as they go through there many years of schooling. Each person picks up the same type of writing styles but as years go by people seem to pick up there own little types of writing style that separates them from everyone else. As I have gone through many years of English classes I have acquired more and more skills and many more are sure to come as I continue my education. My writing skills have only gotten better from the time of ninth grade English class until today. Since my days back in junior high school I was only taught the basic skills to write papers and since then they have grown to make me a decent writer. I have many strengths and also

A lot of things happen in humans’ life, ups and downs, rights and wrongs, choices that can be optional and unavoidable choices. Among those choices, I chose to be here at University of Arizona, studying Electrical and Computer Engineering. As the requirement to be student here, I took English 107 class in semester of spring 2017. Being international student in a foreign country is not easy. At the first time I came at UA and the first general education class I took required me to write 10 page research paper, in APA format. I ended up writing 3 10 pages essay in order to pass the class. At that time I was taking English 106 class, but I wasn’t that much ready to write 10 page research paper. Now, after taking English 107 class,

When I was younger, I used to really enjoy writing. For me, writing was an escape from the harsh reality of being an adolescent teenager. I would relinquish feelings that I wasn’t capable to express with people by utilizing my writing. So my creative writing style would have to be dramatic, because I would write about the many obstacles I have overcome and how I managed to overcome them. Although I primarily wrote to express my feelings, I also enjoyed writing fictional stories. Through writing fictional stories I was capable to let my imagination run amok. I felt rather confident with my first draft until I read your comments and reread it myself to see that there were so many things that could be altered. One significant revision was in the intro paragraph where I had to rephrase quite a few sentences as well as making sure that paragraphing was clear. I made sure to make these changes noticeable to the reader by allowing the sentences to offer more substance to the reader. In the body, I mainly added multiple sentences here and there in order to give evidence or to help in clarifying a point that was being addressed. I also added more specifics to the advice aspect that I intended to give the reader, however, I let it remain kind of ambiguous as I want to get the reader to think for themselves a bit, in regards to how they take the information I offered to find a solution in response to the liberal and the conservative opinions. Concluding the letter, I also added more sentences to offer the reader more insight to the importance of the points being expressed. I added in vague solutions, in an attempt to give the reader room to come up with their own final solutions.

During my time spent in the English 110 I endured a writing style of APA that was barely introduced to me in high school. The most beneficial things I learned throughout my research process this year is the use of the writing center and librarians , the online databases, and the moodle forum post allowed me not only to succeed in English 110, but will give me beneficial techniques to use in future papers I will have to write.

Craft In writing 1, I obtained different techniques of crafting for my own story and organize in the right way for me and the readers to see. As for the PLO, craft was described as, “A language that reveals aesthetic awareness from writing.” Writing has always been one of my weakest subjects me since I find it difficult to start a writing assignment and I also struggle having some ideas so I should begin writing. Over the course of this semester, I have learned ways to improve my writing structure. When doing my weekly journals, I enjoyed how I get to share my opinions on weekly reading assignments. During the first week of journal (Weekly Journal #1), I get to express my perspective of a sanctuary place after reading an article called, “The Sanctuary of School” by Lynda Barry. In addition to poetry and writing I do on my own time, I write very often for school. I typically receive high grades on my work because of the supposed skill or talent that I may have. This skill, however, only goes so far. The time I have spent editing, re-reading, editing again, and double checking each individual word borders on obsessiveness, but it is the only way I can improve as a writer. And, as any individual who spends much of their time practicing a skill, difficulties and obstacles become a common sight as time goes on. My biggest difficulty throughout my writing career has been style.
